I exit the club and see my niece standing near my car, looking like she seeing a ghost. "Gabby? What are you doing here?"

She blinks fast, swinging her stare at me and answering me in a monotonous tone. "You… I texted you."

"Shit." I check my phone and see a text from her. Robert, her driver, explains to me that their car broke down a few blocks away and Gabby insisted on taking a ride with me on the way to Aunt Flavia's, knowing I was still here. While he relays security details to me, I watch my niece and Mariano talking. My brows draw tight at her posture and the way they converse as if it's not their first time meeting. "You two have met?"

My question remains unanswered when a black limousine, the same one Mariano rode earlier, parks next to my car, and then a man and a woman come out.

It takes me only a split second to recognize the woman in a tight red dress, her hair neatly tied into a ball, seemingly about to attend a party.
