39 The Black Diamond family Crystal

Watching his companions being killed mercilessly. Luke looked so terrified that he almost forgot that his arm was chopped off. He's turning pale, either from the blood loss or fear. And June can see him visibly trembling.

"Please, Don't kill me" Luke begged as the man approaches him "Please give me another chance, I can find it"

"You already had your chance and you chose to be foolish" The man said in disgust "We put too much fate in you, and not only you wasted our resources but also precious time.

The Lady in black returned to her place at the man's side, while the the bear strolled back to the little girl with an arm hanging on its mouth.

"Good Teddy!" The little girl said, petting her bear.

"Believe me when I say that I really would like to slice you piece by piece, Luke. But since your foolish stunt wasn't completely a failure, I was ordered to spare you" The Man said with so much disdain.

"What do you mean?" Luke asked, looking so confused to feel relived.

"It just so happened that the treasure you were asked to find is actually here, in this field" The man said. Then his gaze turned to group "And one of you has it" The man, as he scans the group.

He he took as step towards the group, they all took a step back, ready to run for their lives. The only problem is that their leg were shaking uncontrollably, preventing them from actually running. Even Maria and Ms. Kage turned pale but both of them courageously stood in front of the group.

"Now, now.... I don't want any harm" The man said, lifting both his hand. "Blood doesn't have to spill. Just hand me the Crystal quietly and we will be on our way"

"We know nothing of the Crystal you speak off" Maria said, sternly.

"Are you sure?" The Man said as his gaze lock on Arisa, with a raised brow.

Everyone turned to Arisa, her jaws hard. "Mom? what is he talking about?" June asked, a mixture of confusion, worry and fear.

"Just give the crystal and nobody has to be hurt" the man said, releasing some kind of malevolent presences.

"You're never getting your hands on this Crystal" Swiftly Arisa aimed at the man but froze even before she could shoot one bullet.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" An eerie voice said behind Arisa. It's the Lady in Black and her sharp nails are around Arisa's neck.

"Mom!" June and Andrew was about to rush to Arisa, when the Lady in black said "Stop, if you still want her to live" June and Andrew gritted their teeth, and their eyes burned with anger and helplessness and fear.

"So as I was saying-" The man was talking to only be cut by Isabelle. "Hey, Lady!" she shouted, which got the lady in black's attention "Eat this!" Firing Orianna, aiming at the Lady, directly on the face. But when the bullet hit, the Lady turned to smoke, disappearing and reappearing on the Man's side.

"Bad Girl!" The little girl screamed, like a toddler having a tantrum "Teddy! KILL! " Then the bear just appeared behind Isabelle, with one paw swinging towards her

"Isabelle!" Caleb shouted. He pushed her out of the way just in time, Isabelle let out a scream. But Caleb wasn't so lucky. He took the hit, so hard that, you know when you threw a stone and it skips across the water? That's what happened to Caleb except his body skipped through land. He lay there unconscious, his clothes tattered and stained with blood.

"Caleb!" Alisa rushed to her brother to only blocked by the bear. "Alisa don't rush-!" Maria shouted trying to stop her but Alisa let out a roar and charged for the Bear.

Alisa's senses helped her predict the movement of the bear making her dodge every attack the Bear threw at her, making the Little Girl throw a raging fit. She shot black fire balls at Alisa to be only extinguished by Andrew.

"Enough of this" The man said, annoyed.

June lie on the ground face first. He felt like all his bones in his body are all broken. He turned his head sending a stinging pain through his body. He saw his mom standing, tensed in front of the man in black.

"Mom" June rasped, tasting the metallic tang of blood that made June gag, almost puking his guts out.

Arisa didn't turn to June, either she didn't hear him or she purposely ignored him.

"You want the Crystal right?" Arisa's voice trembled, like she was crying. "Here just take it and please don't hurt anyone else" Clutching what looks like a pendant, handing it over to the man.

June only remembered bits and pieces of what happened. He remembered Andrew and Alisa was lifted off to the ground by something invisible. Then both let out an anguished scream. The kind of scream that will hunt you at night, the kind of scream that gives you chills (And not the good kind of chills), And a scream that is a living reminder to June of the night he found Andrew in the woods.

June let out a loud roar. His eyes bursts in golden flames and he radiated this strong powerful golden aura. This only happened once, the moment that his gift was awakened. June felt his body lighten, his mind clearer and just felt all around stronger.

He pulled out his sword that bursts into golden flames. He was so fast that he was face to face with the man in black in an instant. He swung the sword but the man blocked it with just two fingers, the rest of him unfazed. June moved so fast that the natural eye can't follow. He swung his sword so fast that it actually piqued the man in black's interest, but the man never got hit even once.

When the man got too bored with just dodging and defending, June suddenly felt a huge fist just punched him in the stomach. Pain flared all over his body, like he never felt before. The pain he felt when his Gift was awaken was really painful but this is another kind of that version, more dark and evil. He staggered back coughing blood. Then felt two huge fists crashed him to the ground.

"Stop! Please just stop!" Arisa shouted, "I'll Give you the Crystal, Just please don't kill them!" She pleaded.

Which leads us to what's happening now. The man took the pendant and checked the Crystal. A small sinister smile formed in the man's lips as he examines the shiny black Crystal inside the pendant.

"Very well, I am a man of my word and as promised, we shall take our leave" The man said, Then Andrew and Alisa fell to the ground, unconscious . He and his two companions turned and started walking away. "Don't forget our young fool" The man reminded the little girl. The Bear picked up a still stunned Luke off of the ground and bear hugged him so tight, not leaving room for escape.

When the man and his companions dissolved in the shadow, June's eyes started getting heavy.

"June!" Arisa cried, she gently brushed his hair. She didn't want to move his body because June's injuries might worsen.

Isabelle knelt beside Caleb, crying while she cradle his head to her lap. Andrew and Alisa are laying close to each other also unconscious.

"June wake up honey!" Arisa cried as she watch her June slowly drift to unconsciousness.

In the edge of June's vision, he saw Jordan. A huge purple misty aura cocooned Jordan's body while will-o-wisps gathered around him, like they're protecting him. Nobody seemed to notice, as everyone was occupied by the aftermath of the battle.

That was the last thing that June saw as his eyes started closing and fell into unconsciousness.
