18 Reunion

June took the stairs three at a time, When he landed on the final step he ran to the guest and heard loud crashes and Andrew's voice. June opened the door to the gust room to see a Shadow standing in the other side of room hissing at Andrew who is on the other side of the room, on the ground, his back against the wall. Andrew's face is drained of color and shaking, terrified.

June ran in front of Andrew, and pulled out his sword. Andrew gasped when he saw the sword pulled out of nowhere.

June turned his head to Andrew "You okay?"

Andrew nodded but clearly he was not.

The shadow roared, apparently it doesn't want anyone interrupting his meal time. June stood his ground, planting his feet on the ground, protecting Andrew.

The shadow was about to attack when out of nowhere a sound of a shotgun being fired rang. It happened so fast that June could only hear shotgun fires so fast. He stood, stunned, as the Shadow in front of him whiter and vanish into dust.

"You think you could just waltz in here and make yourself at home by eating my son's friend?! That ain't gonna fly buddy!" June's mom said with a wicked grin.

June and Andrew turned to Mrs. Summers, stunned.

"Mom? How did you-" June said, shocked and confused. His eyes bounce of between his Mom and where the shadow used to be.

"I think, it's about time I explain everything to you" Mrs. Summers said turning to her son

Before she could say anything else, there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it, you take care of Andrew okay?" Mrs. Summers said and was out of the guest room.

June just stood there, trying to make out of what happened.

"I don't want to be on your mom's bad side" Andrew said, in awe at the same time he was still shaking, form fear. Fear of the Shadow or June's mom..... that's still a mystery.

Forgetting about Andrew for a brief moment, June turned around and knelt beside Andrew.

"You okay?" June asked, concerned.

Andrew was still shaken by the attack that he still couldn't answer directly.

Andrew's hair is messy and shirt crumpled making him look a lot more younger.

For a moment Andrew was silent, his eye scanning the room. From where the shadow used to be, then the rest of the room. Andrew returned to looked at June.

June saw a wide range of mixed emotions in Andrew's eyes, the fear, shock, helplessness, confusion, and what looks like sadness?

"Wha- wha- what?" Andrew stuttered, not knowing how or what to ask which is making him frustrated. "How? what? Uh... Agrhhhh!" Andrew tried again but nothing again which is making him even more frustrated. He clutch on to his hair with both hands and shut his eyes, He's body started to shake.

"Hey, hey, hey" June said in a soft voice, trying to comfort Andrew, while placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

Andrew opened his eyes, glassy from the unshed tears.

"I know you're confused, scared, and has a lot of questions, I've been there." June said, remembering everything he's been through. "but I promise I'll explain everything to you later okay?" June promised "but for now you must be hungry, My mom's making lasagna"

And like on Que Andrew's stomach grumbled, Andrew's face flushed.

June smiled kindly "Well I guess your stomach agrees. C'mon you need to regain your strength for whats to come" He said standing up offering a hand to Andrew.

Andrew took the hand and June helped him up.

"Can I freshen up first?" Andrew asked, sheepishly

"Sure, There's the bathroom" Pointing at the bathroom "Take your time okay, I'll be waiting here"

"Thanks" Andrew said and head for the bathroom.

Mrs. Summers opened the front door, seeing Alisa and Caleb.

"Hi, is June- Whoa!" Alisa and Caleb visible took as step back when they saw Mrs. Summers still brandishing her shotgun.

Mrs. Summers frowned at the gesture but then realized she was still holding her shotgun, "Oh, I'm sorry." she said, putting the shotgun away.

"Arisa, you never change" Harper appeared, smiling. "It's so nice to see you again"

"Harper!" Mrs. Summers squealed, running and hugging Harper.

Harper caught her, laughing.

Mrs. Summers pulled out of the hug, "My God, you're just as I remembered. It's so nice to see you!"

"Well I don't age remember" Harper said, smiled fondly

"Smart ass" Mrs.Summers said, flicking Harper's forehead playfully.

Harper and Mrs. Summers were so caught up on their reunion, that they briefly forgot that Alisa and Caleb are standing there. Both of them turned to them, who are both gaping at them.

"Arisa I want you too meet, Caleb and Alisa" Harper introduced, "Although you already met them, when they were babies"

"Wait, these are those babies?" Mrs. Summers looking Caleb and Alisa back and forth, "Wow, they sure grew to be very handsome and beautiful young man and woman"

Caleb and Alisa were still gaping at what they just saw, that it made Harper frown.

"Caleb, Alisa manners" Harper said, knocking them both out of their shock.

"Oh, don't be so hard on them" Mrs. Summers said, slapping Harper playfully on the shoulder. "Nice to meet you dears" She said hugging Alisa then Caleb.

Alisa and Caleb hugged her back, though they where a little bit stiff.

"Come inside, we have a lot of catching up" Mrs.Summers said, Inviting them in.

As they enter, June and Andrew are coming down the stairs.

"Oh hey guys, you're kinda early" June said

"Yeah, Dad pulled us out early. Said we're going somewhere important, We didn't know it was here" Caleb, explained.

Puzzling everything together, "So the twin friends you were talking about was Caleb and Alisa" Mrs. Summer said in realization.

"You know them?" June said, surprised

"I guess we have a lot of explaining to do" Harper said, smiling.

Alisa's eyes landed on Andrew, "Andrew?" Her voice soft

"Hey" Andrew waved, smiling shyly

"Oh my God!" She ran towards Andrew hugging him tight.

Surprised, Andrew caught her just in time, almost loosing his balance, since he's still weak.

Alisa looked at Andrew but didn't let go of the hug "Are you okay? How did you get here?" She said with a low voice that only they can hear.

Andrew's lips lifted in small smile, "Yeah.... kind of. I don't really remember much" He answered with the same low voice.

"You look..... Different" Alisa said

"Good different?" Andrew asked, a little worried.

"Good different" Alisa said, smiling at him

Then they heard someone cleared their throat. They immediately pulled out of the hug but stayed close together. They scanned the room and saw everyone trying so hard to hide their smiles, even Harper.

"Harper Hearth, I'm Alisa's and Caleb's Dad" Harper said extending a hand to Andrew

"Andrew Snow, nice to-" Andrew's voice died, "Wait, Dad?" He said shocked and confused.

"Don't worry, I've been there. I'll explain everything, promise" June said, clapping him lightly on his back, assuring him because Andrew looked like he was about to throw up.

Andrew just nodded.

"Well we can catch up later but for now we have more important things to do" Mrs. Summers said to Harper, then looked at June "Honey, lead them to the living room, while I prepare some snacks and lunch"

June nodded and lead everybody to the living room.
