3 New Kids

"June! get up, you'll be late for school!" My mom shouted from the kitchen.

"I'll be right down!" I called back. I got up extra early today and I feel energized, It's kinda weird. Picking up my backpack, I jog down the stairs and make my way to the kitchen.

"Morning" I greeted my mom, entering the kitchen. "Oh hey, You're early today" She said in amazement, pleasantly surprised, while still reading something on her tab. I usually wake up by the sound of her voice every morning, so waking up earlier than that surprised not only her by me as well. "Bye mom" I gave her a quick kiss on top of her head then grab an apple.

"Hey, wait" Mom said looking up.

I turned to her but her face is filled with shock and confusion, forgetting what she's about to tell me. After a moment she said "Are you sure you're not taking something?"

I sigh "Mom we've talked about this, I'm not taking anything okay? If that's all, I gotta go, I'll be late for class" I was about to leave again but Mom said "Okay I believe you, It's just you look very different" looking at me like I'm not me.

I looked at her confused, I mean feel like my usual self. Hmmmm.....

"Any ways, I'm going to be late from work so just order something okay?" While getting back to her tab but I can feel the wheels in her brain still spinning as if trying to figure out what happened. What did happened?

"Sure thing, Bye Mom!" I shouted back while closing the front door.

"Yo June!" Luke leaned to the side of my locker "Par-" His voice died down like my mom's. I looked at him and I swear this is Déjà vu. "What?" I asked, scowling at him because this is legit scaring me right now.

"It's just you look different" He said almost in amazement "I mean don't get the wrong idea, but you look 'good' " Now I'm all out confused "Huh?" Now he's all out smiling now "Have you seen yourself in the mirror lately? I mean if I'm playin' for the other team I'd totally flirt with you, where'd this come from?" waving his hand to my body.

I looked at him so confused, I don't know what he's talking about. I don't feel different, well besides my clothes getting a little bit tighter, I feel the same "What are you talkin' about, I've always been like this" He laughed so hard, he thinks that was joke? "Dude I'm serious, what's with people today?" Now I'm just frustrated. When he saw that I wasn't joking, he stopped laughing but there's still a huge grin on his face.

"Hey, Luke!" One of the cheer leaders approached him, I think her name was Jess. I've gotten used to the whole cheer team flirting with Luke, It's a no brainier he's the quarter back of the football team so the girls come with the title.

"Hey Jess" Hooking an arm on her "Having a party at my place tonight wanna come?" Jess giggled "I'd love too" Then her smile spread wider when she took sight of me. "Oh, who's this? You gonna introduce me to your friend Luke?" Her voice is very flirty and I don't like it. Luke looked at me with a wicked grin that's very far from comforting. "Jess, this my best friend June" Jess was shocked for a moment "Wait you mean June Summers, Book nerd weird June Summers?" Okay that just hurts, I mean she's telling the truth, but the truth still hurts. She could've at least make it more not hurtful.....ish. "Yup" Luke answered, Ignoring the comment.

Jess' smile just went even more bigger, if that's even possible. "Wow June, you look... good" wait is she flirting with me? my face is heating up and I just know I'm blushing. I hate it that I can't hide my embarrassment "Th-thanks?" It came out as more of question.

"Awwww! He's a shy type, that's so cute" Jess said gushing. I blushed even more if that even possible, this is so embarrassing. "Here's an idea" Luke saving me from my embarrassment "I was just going to invite June here to my party, How 'bout you two go together?" I looked at Luke in horror. Is he serious right now? or maybe this is just pay back? I thought he's my best friend, now he's feeding me to the wolves.

"Mmmm. I Loved that" Jess said, while slowly tracing her perfectly manicured finger on my chest. I might have puked in my mouth just a little bit. I turn to my locker and cover my mouth with my fist trying really hard not to embarrass myself even further.

"Are you okay?" Wrapping her arms around my arm, I just nodded not looking at her. "June just came out of the hospital yesterday, I think he's still recovering" Luke said. With a gasp she turned to me, rubbing her hands all over my arm "Maybe I can make it better" whispering to my ear, seductively, making me very uncomfortable.

There's nothing more I wanted to do than to push her away and tell her to leave me alone, but that's just rude so thankfully the double doors of the school opened saving me.

You know in the movies when the popular girls or guys entered the school, and everything just goes into slow motion then amazing music kicks in. The dramatic entrance, the students on the hall started parting like the red sea as they walk. That's just what it feels right now.

Everyone turned to who it was, It was a guy and a girl. They both have silver eyes, brown hair but what catches my attention the most is that the guy looked like he just came out of the Steampunk era. And when I say Steampunk I meant literally, but with a modern twist. He's wearing brown leather vest with a hood, a pocket watch attached to it, White v-neck shirt, light brown slim fit cargo pants, black leather suspenders attached to it, brown leather combat boots, black leather finger less glove on the right hand, brown leather watch in his left wrist, leather necklace with what looks like a sliver bullet? brown leather messenger bag, he even has a Steampunk aviator goggles around his neck. I mean he's amazing! The inner nerd in me is screaming like there's no tomorrow.

As amazing the guy was the girl is too, but in whole very opposite way. She's wearing a simple pastel yellow sun dress, pastel yellow cardigan, yellow low cut converse, her hair's in a side pony tail, simple make up, simple gold necklace, pearl earnings, gold cuffs on both wrists and a white messenger bag. She's simple but beautiful.

As if hearing my thoughts, beside me Jess huffed "I mean look at her waltzing in here like she owns the place, she not even that beautiful and the guy? what a freak right?" then she and Luke started laughing. I can't believe what I'm looking at, they judge like they're immediately so much better than them just because they're different or maybe this guys are just jealous of them because to me they look amazing.

Before they can talk trash about them any further, I shut my locker "I have to get to class" I said without looking at them, then left.
