3 Time Has Passed

"I'm looking forward to your progress"*☺

_______________________________

2 months quickly went by and I have made no progress in locating the mystery girl, but I have grown used to living with Miguel.

"What are you doing?" He asked leaning over my shoulder.

"Homework," I answered while trying to focus on my module's questions.

"Oh then, you got to number three wrong." He stated smugly. I glared at him and responded with,

"Then please tell me what the correct answer is." Miguel smiled.

"No, I suggest you reread chapter 33." I groaned and threw a pillow in his direction and he selfishly let it phase through him.

"You could at least let it hit you," I complained. He laughed.

"And why would I do that?" He shot back and I sighed, begrudgingly opening my history textbook. I felt Miguel watching me as I studied and it was making it hard to concentrate.

"Please... don't stare at me," I mumbled without looking at him.

"I'm not staring at you." He replied so I turned to look back at him and our eyes met.

"Yes, you are!" I accused, looking away, bashfully and making him laugh once again.

"Oh look, you're right for once." He teased. I shot him a look and he smiled at me defiantly... I couldn't do anything to him even if I wanted to. I sighed and turned back to my homework. "It's Sun Tzu 544 B.C.," Miguel said suddenly.

"I'll never learn if you just tell me the answer," I remarked testily. But secretly I was relieved that I didn't need to read anymore.

"Says the girl begging me for the answer not long ago." He replied.

"I was not begging," I argued back, pointing my pen at him. "Anyway... thank you... Chinese history is interesting but I'm really not a history scholar." I stated with a sigh. I slightly turned my head and Miguel's face was inches from mine. He was looking down at my World History worksheet and I clutched at my heart to slow it down from the jolt of shock I just endured.

"Everything else looks right... good job." I'm not used to him complimenting me, so I got a little happy.

"Thank you."

"Is this all you have left to do?" Miguel investigated.

"Well, I still need to memorize the script from Acting class," I admitted. He placed his hand on my cheek and turned my face towards his. I couldn't stop shaking from the temperature of his fingers.

"Then while you're doing that, I'll prepare a reward for you... since you're working so hard." He removed his hand and vanished from the room. 5 minutes passed before I could stop shivering and another hour more passed for me to memorize the script. Once I had finished I went looking for Miguel. As soon as I left my room a delicious aroma forced its way into my nostrils and I immediately knew where he was... the kitchen. I headed there to see Miguel in all white, and hair tied back, diligently setting the table with a buffet of breakfast foods.

"You... you can cook?" I regretted asking as soon as the words left my mouth. Of course, he can, a meal this grand couldn't appear out of thin air.

"Well, I was going to University to get a bachelor's in culinary art." He replied. He's telling me something about him; for the first time. I sat at the table and he sat across from me, with his elbow on the table and chin in his palm.

"I'm sure you would've been very successful," I replied feeling a little sad. "Oh and why did you change clothes, you can't get dirty anyway."

"Ah... I didn't mean to change... my clothes probably just changed into what I'm used to wearing when I cook." Miguel explained.

"They just changed on their own?" I inquired

"Well yeah, technically my clothes don't exist, so I can change them anytime at will." Does that mean he's naked all the time?! "Spirits do not need clothes. Don't overthink, get over it, and eat." He stated, firmly in conclusion and I began doing as told. It felt strange with him just watching and not eating anything. "How are the eggs? Did I add enough salt... or maybe too much? Do you prefer them fried in butter maybe?" I wasn't able to answer quickly because my mouth was full of food so he continued asking questions. "Would you like syrup for your crepes and if so would you prefer strawberry or maple? The orange juice is fresh-squeezed... I hope it's to your liking." I took a sip to help me swallow and nodded rapidly.

"Everything is perfect, I'm really... just happy you cooked for me." I wasn't putting on airs. The texture, appearance, and taste of everything were like those you only see in movies or fancy restaurants. He smiled.

"I made turkey bacon since I know you're trying to lose weight." He added. "Is it crispy enough for you?" He inquired tilting his head. I took a bite to respond truthfully.

"Yes!" I'm surprised he managed that, it's always flaccid when I cook it. Miguel laughed at my enthusiasm.

"I'm glad." My heart fluttered slightly, I'm not used to him showing me such a contented face.

"So are you going to eat anything?" I asked. Miguel shook his head, no, then stated,

"I made it for you; it'd be a waste if I ate it anyway." I really, don't understand him sometimes. "Eat faster." He encouraged.

"Why? I don't have school today." I reasoned, not caring to go any faster.

"I wanted to go somewhere with you today, while it's still early." On that note, I ate a little faster. It seems that Miguel only wanted to go for a walk. He must have wanted to leave early because of how hot it's been in the afternoons lately, but the temperature doesn't bother him so he must be being considerate of me... I wonder why.

"So, Miguel, can you tell me more about the girl you're in love with?" I inquired curiously. Miguel blushed slightly and looked away from me smiling. I had no idea he could make such an expression.

"I'm in a good mood today, so I'll tell you something." I could feel myself growing excited at his words. "She's... very determined and very committed to whatever she does. She's usually unaware of herself and...a little emotional, also, she's very beautiful." He stopped talking there and I waited patiently, hoping for more.

"I was kind of hoping you could tell me more about how she looks so I know what to look for," I stated.

"Nope, figure that out by yourself." He replied smiling sadistically at me. I puffed my cheeks, pouting and this caused Miguel to laugh. "She's a girl, chances are her hair is dyed and she might wear contacts so there's no telling what color her eyes are." He stated with a shrug. So... she doesn't wear glasses...? That barely narrows it down.

"Did you go to the same college as her when you were alive?" I asked. Miguel glanced at me then he grinned widely before saying.

"Yes." I was a little surprised, He was the type to stand out and I don't think I've seen him before... but back when he was alive I was so focused on Jack I barely noticed anything else and it's a big campus, plus he was in the culinary division... as I was thinking an idea suddenly struck me. The girl is probably in the culinary division as well. Of course! Because he'd see her every day. Finally a lead! I started smiling uncontrollably and Miguel frowned at me. "What's that face for?" I was so happy that his sudden mood swing couldn't throw me off.

"It's just that I feel like I'm getting closer to finding her. I'm really excited." Miguel's frown deepened and his voice lowered.

"Why?" His tone caused me to tense up and I had trouble replying.

"I really... want to do this for you, that's all," I answered back timidly. The smile returned to his face.

"Oh really?... Well, thanks." We did history trivia to help me study for my next test until we returned home. I was exhausted, especially mentally, so I went straight to bed, but the sound of people talking woke me up.

"I can't do it right now." Miguel's voice argued.

"Why are you wasting time, there's no reason for you to procrastinate." It was another man's voice, he sounded angry.

"I know... I'm sorry, you're right." Miguel sounded defeated. I know eavesdropping is bad but I couldn't go back to sleep. "I care a lot for you, Dami." My heart shuddered at the confession of feelings and the voice began sounding more like a husky woman's voice.

"Just don't forget your promise to me!" After that was said there was silence. My mind was spinning, who could he possibly be talking to... and if that's the girl he loves why am I even looking for her? I'm bothered for multiple reasons, I can't even process all of them. Many more questions arose and rolled around restless, trying to go back to sleep.

"Lemon, are you awake?" Miguel whispered walking into my room; I shut my eyes and stayed motionless in response. I heard him laugh softly then I felt his cold lips press against my cheek. "Sweet dreams." He whispered and disappeared from my room and as soon as I was alone my eyes flew open...I definitely won't be able to sleep tonight!
