Jonathan Quinn was sitting in the lecture hall scrolling through the students' message board. With any luck he could find someone getting rid of some old hardware that he could fix up and resell. As a college student without a scholarship or other financial support he had to make money where he could.

"Yo Q," a male student said as he sat down. Jonathan didn't know why he insisted on calling him Q, but since Joel West was his best friend on campus he let it slide. "Have you downloaded that new game yet?"

"Nope."

"Why not?" he asked with a frown. "I'm telling you this one is a serious contender for game of the year."

His friend Q was still staring at his phone. In fact, he hadn't looked up since he sat down. The student quickly pulled out his own phone and went to a popular video sharing site. Since he was a premium member he was able to skip the ads and soon had the desired video ready to go. As soon as the video started he shoved it in front of his friend's smartphone.

Jonathan looked at his friend in annoyance for a second before he gave up and looked at the video.

"The new release from Insomniac Games promises something for everyone. True Epic offers the largest game world released to date for those who enjoy exploration, as well as an astounding variety of plants and animals for the hunter gatherer. For the player more interested in item creation and crafting, True Epic offers an expansive crafting system And for the hardcore battle junkie we have an all new intuitive combat system with dungeons, raids, and World Bosses to conquer. With an all new class system and thousands of customization options, you can create a truly unique experience. Whether you're looking for a way to kill a few minutes, or something to devote your life to, True Epic is the game for you!"

Jonathan had to admit that it was one of the best promotional videos that he had ever seen, and the gameplay footage was breathtaking.

"That's a pretty good video." Jonathan said honestly.

"Right," Joel said with a smile. "But I know something even more impressive. They claim that you can access the game from any device. PC, console, or mobile with a single account."

Jonathan let out a low whistle. That was impressive. That meant that the servers had to accommodate hardware with different specs and operating systems and be able to switch settings every time you logged in.

Joel's smile grew when he saw his friend's reaction. "On top of that, they only have one global server, yet they promise no downtime or system maintenance."

"That's impossible!" Jonathan exclaimed.

"Hehe, I knew it." Joel said as he thumbed his nose. "Thinking about all that technical stuff got you interested, right?"

"Nope. Not interested."

The professor walked in before Joel had a chance to get started, so instead he gave him a look and mouthed "later".
