2 Heroine

Saturday.

It was finally time to meet him!

You were glad he tapped his pen three times. You were even gladder that he left a reply in his desk drawer.

"See you there. I'll be wearing a black T-shirt with jeans. Have a ribbon in your hair and something red, so I'll know it's you. And a skirt. And knee length boots if you have em."

The contents of the reply?

Not so gladdening.

Ugh, this pervert...

Your skirt looked a little too short in the mirror, so you pulled it down an inch. Perfect.

A bunch of hair ornaments and hair ties lay on top of your dresser, but you couldn't choose. Maybe a ribbon would do? Or something more elegant like a ribbon with jeweled flowers? You went with a sparkly one to grab his attention, just in case he wasn't an observanr person.

But not knee length boots. You had them, but what was he thinking!? Picking out a red cardigan, you threw it on top of your plain white blouse to liven up the outfit. Done!

On your way out the door, you almost forgot the flyer you were going to show him. You tucked it into your bag then walked out the door of your room.

"Mama, I'm going to work!" You called out, petting your little sister's head as she ambled around in the hallway.

"All right, be safe, dear!" She replied.

It was time to get to work!

"(Your name)!" Your best friend called out.

She hugged you tightly and started pulling you by the hand. "You woke up late again, didn't you?"

"Not really." You said. "I was preparing to meet someone after work today, remember?"

"Oh right!" She squealed. "No wonder you look all dressed up!"

She paused. "It's not your usual style though..."

You stomped your foot in annoyance. "Can you believe it!? He picked out my outfit for me, and we haven't even talked in person!"

"Sounds like he's a bit of a control freak, huh?" A snide expression formed on her face. "Let's hurry then, before we're late!"

You two got to the train station pretty quickly after that. With the minutes you had before the train to work left, you decided to buy some snacks at the convenience store.

Banana milk... milk tea... strawberry milk... yum. This all looks so good! Melon milk... yoghurt drinks...

Picking out your favorite drink from among them, you grabbed a Pocky and some melon bread then paid at the cashier. Your best friend bought a hotdog and a steamed bun, plus some bubble tea from next door.

After scanning your cards, you went through the turnstiles.

Scrambling for seats on the train, you found two and sat comfortably. Thank goodness! No pushing around today!

You peered out the windows and watched everything become a blur as the train gradually accelerated to its top speed. In a few minutes, you were at the station. Thankfully, work was just a ten minute walk away.

Visuals Specialty Store

You and your friend were weekend interns at a specialty store called Visuals Specialty Store. It was a café, clothing boutique, and art store all in one! You joined a few months after her, so while she got to help people pick out outfits (the funnest and most tedious job in the store), you got to help make coffee and draw personalized art on the craft items available!

The first customer of your shift was quite tall. Craning your neck upwards to meet his eyes, you smiled at him.

"Welcome! What can I get you today?"

"Signature chocolate frappe, please."

"That will be (price and currency)!"

After taking his payment and giving him the receipt, you went to work on making an ice cold frappe. But what should you draw on the cup? You haven't drawn a bear in a while. It's decided! Grabbing a nearby sharpie, you drew a bear onto the cup.

Just in time, the mixer finished! After a generous helping of whipped cream, you handed it to your first customer. "Thanks."

After taking a look at the bear, he grinned and went to a nearby table. "Thank you for your order! Tell us if you need anything else!"

"This is a cute bear."

Flattered, you laughed a bit. "Thanks! I love drawing. It's my favorite part."

"I'll come here more often."

You gave him a little wave goodbye.

Meanwhile, (name of best friend) looked like she was having the time of her life picking out matching outfits for a couple.

"This set would look so supet cute on you both!" She squealed.

Several cups of coffee later, both of you got off work and left through the back exit. A figure was leaning against a nearby tree.

Your friend gave you a scared look and contemplated hurrying back inside when the figure revealed itself.

"Hey."

"Oh! (Male name)!" Your bff exclaimed. "You scared us!"

It was your childhood friend. He was a gentle boy, but is the complete opposite nowadays. He stopped caring about his studies and focuses more on sports and gang activities (which you never dared to ask him about.)

"Haven't seen you two in a while." He smirked. "Miss me?"

You called him by his old nickname, obviously making him very pleased. His hands were in his pockets, and he looked quite expensive today. Chains, a Gucci shirt, and leather pants - an outfit that wouldn't look out of place in Lookism or True Beauty.

He put a hand behind his head. "So, (name) are you free today? I uh..." He took out two movie tickets. "I have tickets for this new anime movie that came out. The artwork looks great."

"Sorry, I have to meet up with someone today." You said firmly. "Maybe next week!"

His eyes looked downcast.

Your best friend chimed in. "Yeah, it's very important. But don't feel so bad, big guy! I'm free! Your tickets won't go to waste."

"Gee, thanks (bff name)." He turned to you. "It's okay. But I'm reserving you next week, okay? Or I'm beating someone up! Hiya!"

Oh, (name of childhood friend)...

You laughed at his antics. "Can you beat your homework before you beat up a person?"

"Eugh." He groaned. "You're bein' boring again. Hey, (best friend) let's go watch the movie!

Your best friend winked at you covertly, then went over to your childhood friend's side. "Text me later when you're done! I'll tell you if the movie's nice!"

"Bye, you two! Have fun!" You called out.

"We've never met but can we have a coffee or something"

Thankyou Nature Café

You found a seat opposite to the entrance and took out your phone. Maybe you could read some webtoons before he got here. Scrolling through your faves' updates, you checked the door.

He just arrived! In a black shirt and blue jeans as he said in his reply. You stared at your phone, trying not to look too eager.

His presence was very imposing, to say the least. You made eye contact. He raised his eyebrows and realized. Sitting on the chair opposite you, he plopped down the pink note you slipped onto his desk. "Hey, you wanted to talk to me right?"

You nodded.

"I see you wore what I told you to." He said, with the smuggest voice you've heard in your entire life.

"So it would be easier for you to find me! Nothing more!"

"Really?" He said, leaning forward and staring directly into your eyes. "I like it. Keep following my orders."

"Why should I!?"

"Cause I'm handsome."

Was he flirting!? What a chore... This wasn't a blind date - wait. Maybe the pink note gave him the wrong impression?

You panicked on the inside. You didn't mean it! It was your last piece of stationery and the registration deadline was coming!

"That's no valid reason! Anyway, about what I called you here for-"

"Have you ever been here before?" He asked, talking over you.

What an annoying dude!!!

"No, it's my first time, that's why I wanted to-"

A surprised look formed on his face. "What!?"

He immediately grabbed you by the wrist and pulled you to the room where they kept the sheep. They were adorable! You've been trying to look for them but were too shy to ask the staff.

"Pet one." He ordered, as if telling acquaintances what to do was the most natural thing in the world.

You looked at the sheep. It was so good-natured and mild. Its kind eyes gave off a gentle aura, inviting you to pet its fluffy head. You gave it a pet, and its eyes closed, bleating softly as you caressed its soft wool.

"So cute and soft!" You gasped.

"By the way." He began. "My treat, okay? I'm not letting you pay."

"But I invited you here!" You replied. "I'm fighting you for the bill!"

He ended up paying for everything. Even the sheep waffles. You ended up forgetting about the task at hand, getting to know each other a bit. It was nice to have a new friend.

He seemed like a jerk in class, but was shaping up to be a decent guy. Until he suddenly brought up E-sports and how girls suck at playing. You were going to make him eat his words.

"Hmph!" Arms crossed in defiance, you wanted to deflate his ego. "Then I challenge you to a solo fight in League!"

He raised a questioning eyebrow. "Heh. That's new, but no."

"I mean it." You pulled out the flyer from your bag to show you meant business.

"I see. So this is what you actually called me for." He looked surprised for a moment, then returned to his usual deadpan expression. "All right. But I'll be the leader and get 30%"

"Deal, since that's what I called you for."

"I didn't know you were into this kinda stuff. You surprised me."

He offered to walk you home and wouldn't stop asking until you said yes. What a persistent guy...

You were crossing the road when a truck started speeding towards you. You were frozen.

Not again... I hate it when this happens.
