36 Ch. 36: Conversations

The more we interacted, I felt we were getting closer. Not just physically, but also in thought.

The topics I discussed didn't stop there. In fact, I can say that our topics of conversation have reached the personal realm.

This was undoubtedly a great success.

I have to show my thanks to Golden Shrimp Ball.

It's for helping me get to this point.

"Keqing really likes Golden Shrimp Ball, huh. I'll buy you some more if you really like it." I smiled.

"What about you, Charles? Do you have a favorite food too?" asked Keqing with a sweet smile.

I pondered for a moment, thinking of how to answer.

Then, I nodded. "Barbeque Ribs. I've been loving eating those lately.

"I actually prefer sweets. But dessert is not included in favorite foods."

I mentioned this meal because it was the only Barbeque Ribs I knew. Usually when I was looking for food, I would come to the restaurant in Fontaine. And Barbeque Ribs is the food I always buy. So it's not surprising that I can remember the name of this food until now.

As for sweets, I actually don't like them very much... that part I just made up and she seems to believe me.

Keqing tilted her head in confusion. "Barbeque Ribs... I just heard of that food. Where did it come from?"

I smiled. "It's from Fontaine."

Hearing that, Keqing widened her eyes. "So you're from Fontaine!"

It seemed very unexpected to her.

"Why so surprised?"

"No," she said as she shook her head. "I don't see the traits of a Fontaine person in you."

That's really sad, I'm not considered one of Fontaine's people.

Ironically, I was not from there, but from the earth: Asia.

Exhaling, I lowered my tone. "I'm heartbroken over this. You have to take responsibility."

Before she could apologize, I added with a grin, "I'm kidding. There's no need to apologize to me.

"People also often say that I don't look like Fontaine's people."

"Sorry." Keqing regretted.

"I told you there's no need to apologize."

"But..." She paused for a moment, then sighed. "Alright."

When the topic of this favorite food stopped, I immediately shifted to the next topic.

If I didn't do that, I couldn't help but go back to practicing like before.

It was actually fine for me to practice. But that didn't give me a chance to know Keqing more deeply from the conversation.

We'll just clash swords.

"By the way... I really like the swing of your sword. It's soft like music.

"Back then, I didn't understand the art of swordplay. I just cut, sliced, and slashed. There was no aesthetics at all. But after practicing swordplay with you, I realized I had already falling in love. I can tell you practiced for so long to perfect your swordsmanship."

Keqing listened attentively.

When I mentioned 'falling in love' she widened her eyes instantly. Her cheeks turned red. But she slowly realized that what I meant was falling in love with her swordsmanship.

"Thank you. I'm glad you complimented me.

"Charles is actually quite good with a sword too. I'm sure with a little practice, you can get better at it. Cheer up, okay?"

I sighed, then smiled stiffly. "I actually envy your productivity and consistency, Keqing. I wish I could be like that too.

"Is it influenced by Keqing's interests and hobbies? So on the positive side, you have them all."

Keqing shook her head. "You should be confident that you also have certain parts to be proud of. Where I myself do not have them. You may not know it now, but it's not impossible to know it tomorrow."

She paused for a moment to ponder, then nodded and continued, "As for productivity and consistency, I can't guarantee that it's due to my interests and hobbies... ummm, but I can't rule out that possibility either.

"I mean... my hobbies... it's a bit embarrassing to mention. Anyway, it's not related to productivity and consistency at all. It's more like squandering money.

"It's a principle. I've always held the principle of 'today's business must be done today.' I can't just let go of that, can I? It's not that I'm impatient, but you shouldn't put things off. If you feel right, you should say it loudly and do it confidently.

"I think you, Charles, have also experienced this in your lifetime. There's no way you haven't. Even if you didn't, you just didn't realize it at the time."

After that, I started asking her about her reasons for becoming Yuheng, and so on.

Once Keqing started telling me stories, I became a good listener and would nod my head.

Watching me enthusiastically listen to her stories, Keqing's mood improved even more and we felt close second by second during this conversation.

However, at this moment, she froze for a moment, then she grinned with annoyance. "Speaking of the principle of 'don't procrastinate,' I realized that we're here to procrastinate.

"Let's practice. It's getting quite late now, but that's not a problem."

I smiled at that.

This was a good thing... she had lost track of time because we were talking.

When I stood up, I suddenly fell silent.

My eyes were opened by a notification.

It was a notification that I had completed the quest.

CONGRATULATIONS ON COMPLETING THE QUEST

YOUR REWARD IS NOW STORED IN YOUR INVENTORY

After that, we practiced until late at night.

By the time we got to the inn, I was sweating profusely and exhausted.

Before lying down on the bed, I opened my reward: a crate with a question mark.

Clicking on the crate, I got a crate with a purple border. It was a Rare Rarity.

Without thinking, I opened the crate.

I was a little surprised and gulped.

This time the reward I got was an item.

Item Name: Sleepy Elixir

Description: Sleepy Elixir is a magical liquid that, when put into a drink, will put whoever drinks it into a deep sleep for 30 minutes.

Reading this item description, my body froze within a minute.
