27 Ch. 27: Special Quest

"Dude, What the f**k, dude?"

I woke up in the inn. At the same time, my eyes gaped at the sight of that 'it' in front of me.

It was the Quest notification.

Quest's name: "Trickery of Trust"

Category: Special Quest

Region: Liyue

Description: In this quest, you are tasked with building a strong relationship with an individual who doesn't recognise you at first. You must win his/her trust by following a series of in-depth tasks and interactions. After successfully winning him/her to trust you, your task changes to betraying him/her in a way that affects his/her trust in you. This quest has a time limit of one week. If you fail to betray him/her within the time limit, the quest will fail and you will be punished accordingly.

Reading the quest description, my eyes narrowed, my brows furrowed... this was getting absurd.

This was a special quest, supposedly capable of punishing me if I didn't complete the quest within a week.

I can't help but feel annoyed with this system that doesn't give me a break.

It's like the developers are deliberately making me mentally tortured.

They really need to make me work to entertain them!

This is deliberate!

Moments later, I let out a long breath.

I can't be angry at this... calm... calm... all of this has meaning. In the end, I will meet Ei too.

It will be a happy ending.

After I calmed down, I went back to analysing the quest I got.

I first questioned this-that thing that seemed like a loophole but also wasn't.

"How can I know the description of this quest when my passive skill opportunity: Information Imagination has already expired?"

When I mentioned Information Imagination, the name of the skill, I couldn't help but frown.

I was somewhat traumatised by the side effects of that skill that made me unable to sleep all night.

After a few seconds later, I let out another long breath to calm my mind.

"Is it because this is a special quest that I was told the description?"

I struck a thinking pose.

"If it is, then this explains that to know the description of a normal quest I need passive skills. While special quests do not require passive skills to know the description."

If someone looks at me, they might assume that I'm thinking about the future.

But I'm not!

This quest is getting crazier all the time!

After analysing the quest, I went to do physical training at the inn as usual.

It was a lot of sweat and effort.

Then, I was going to go for a jog.

When the door opened, the warm afternoon sun greeted my face.

The sky was a beautiful orange colour, like an abstract painting painted by skilful hands.

The white clouds drifted leisurely, like sheep grazing in a vast meadow.

The voices of the Liyue people talking to each other could be heard in the distance, like a melodious and pleasant melody.

Their joyful voices and cheerful laughter created a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Birds chirped merrily in the trees, like singers singing beautiful songs.

Their melodious chirping and melodious singing added to the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere.

A gentle breeze was blowing, carrying the fragrant and refreshing scent of flowers.

The air felt so fresh and cosy, making me want to breathe it in deeply.

Feeling all that, I realised that I was no longer in Fontaine.

It had a different atmosphere and impression to the one Fontaine used to carry.

I couldn't help but curl my lip.

This was Liyue Harbor.

After being mesmerised by the different beauty, I walked in place for a while, and then I did my usual jog.

Even though it was late afternoon, and this was Liyue.

That didn't stop me from exercising my stamina and body.

After a few minutes of walking around Liyue, my body was sweating profusely.

At the moment of taking a short break, I usually felt something that I wasn't used to feeling in Fontaine.

It was the astonished eyes of Liyue's residents looking at me.

I don't know if it's because they see me as a foreigner or something else.

Maybe my behaviour is just strange... thinking of that, I smiled stiffly at them.

It was an implicit apology for disturbing them.

After drinking the water, I went to Katheryne's place.

My goal was to search for quests as usual. It was an occupational activity like a vicious circle that could never be broken.

Like people who have no meaning.

They eat, work, sleep. Doing that over and over again until they die of boredom. They live but their souls don't seem to be there.

And it seems, I'm starting to get stuck in that circle.

Arriving at Katheryne's place smoothly, I was about to greet her as usual while putting on a smile.

"Please save my little sister!"

I turned my head towards the source of the voice. It was a woman. She stood beside me and asked Katheryne with a pale and serious face.

Her face was in a state of panic.

Looking her up and down, I felt familiar with the uniform she was wearing.

Her face? Let's forget about her face, although she was pretty, I didn't recognise her in the game.

There's a good chance that she's just an NPC.

However, as I said, it's a familiar uniform... I'm half-convinced that she works under Keqing.

At the mention of Keqing's name, I thought of her beauty.

Keqing, Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing, is an influential character in the game, also as a player, I can play this character.

She has Vision Electro like me.

You could say that Keqing is a young star that shines brightly but is weighed down by burdens.

Like the sun at the peak of the day, she worked tirelessly, as if she didn't want the world to ever be shrouded in darkness.

Workers were often overwhelmed and threw up their hands in the face of Keqing's standards of perfection.

I remembered the old days... back in the day, I used to be Keqing's simp.

I Believe in Electro Supremacy!

I exhaled.

"Lady, I can help you. You asked the adventurer to rescue your sister, didn't you?"

She turned her attention to me.

"Really?" she said in surprise, her eyes still wet and expectant.

"I'm an adventurer. Rescuing your little sister is a piece of cake."

"How will I pay you," she said as she reached into her pocket.

However, slowly her eyes widened and she began to grimace slowly. "I forgot to bring money."

"You could pay later."

She looked at me with a look full of gratitude.

After that, I was thanked a thousand times over.

How outrageous, I was only helping as a human being, wasn't I?

I'm a good person, right?

However, I also felt depressed at being given that much gratitude... what if I failed to save her?

Sighing, I listened to her as she began to tell me the final location and features of her little sister's body in detail.
