19 A letter

Mondstadt, nighttime.

The sky's bright embrace had already fallen and the darkness has descended upon the people of Mondstadt.

Countless stars can be seen if one were to look up in the vast clear skies of Teyvat. If one were to be lucky, they might even spot their constellation.

Yes, in the world of Teyvat, each inhabitant has its own constellation up in the sky.

This includes but is not limited to humans and elemental beings.

Unfortunately, some constellations are too small for others to see, while some glow brightly. If one is truly lucky, they might actually find theirs.

On Mondstadt, inside a room where the only light source was a lamp placed on a desk.

Daleth sat down in front of the desk that has plain white paper and an ink bottle with a quill placed on it. Next to these is the lamp providing the only light source and a dagger with fresh blood stained on it with some traces of ice melting.

Daleth, with her new attire consisting of what seems like an assassin, picked up the quill and gently tapped it on the ink bottle before writing on the paper.

"To I.,"

"Forgive me for the delay in this message. I recently picked up a 'Mission' that needed a few days of preparation."

"Although late, I shall now begin my weekly report."

Each letter she wrote on the paper was elegant and refined, with not a single mistake in strokes making it look quite a calligraphy.

"The progress of my mission has been rather fruitful. Slowly but surely, the changes that Mondstadt shall undergo will have quite a big impact on the social standings."

"The information brokers I have had already given me the info regarding most of the nobles abusing their authority."

"It seems like the nobility loves to see people of the lower status kill each other for their own entertainment. This is something I had already confirmed by attending the monthly battles in the gladiator arena that had just happened a few days ago."

Daleth moved her hand back to the ink bottle to refresh the ink on the quill before continuing.

"Regarding my information network, I had already formed a foundation."

"By accepting missions issued by the black market and private sources provided by some information brokers, I was able to raise my reputation in the underground society by assassinating targets of interest."

"Truly, during my stay here, I had learned a lot and cannot help but see humans as creatures that will do anything to win over the other."

Just then, right after Daleth wrote this, her eyes slightly contracted as she hurriedly wrote another paragraph below it.

"But I apologize if I offended you by saying this. I know how you view yourself as someone 'human' so I shall refrain from doing this again. Again, forgive me."

During Daleth's stay in Mondstadt for a few weeks, she had already gathered enough information and knowledge that her previous stern personality was nothing but a mask now.

On the surface, she was cold and indifferent towards other people. But when speaking with Isaac and Moccus, she drops this act and becomes comfortable speaking. Though, she was only able to do this via letters and replies from the two all the way from Sal Vindagnyr.

As for how the letters, Daleth just hires an underground mercenary to leave the letter around Sal Vindagnyr. The mercenaries that accepted her request did exactly as she did. After all, why would they even try to open the letter?

Daleth was well-known in the underground society as "Frostine", (Named by a person from Fontaine when he saw her kill), feared for her ability to eliminate enemies with a high success rate using the cryo element.

Shortly after she appeared, she had caused big waves in the underground society. Starting off by buying information, she now kills people to obtain it from the source.

But of course, if the mercenary were to try and open the letter, they would be immediately killed on the spot as Daleth marks everyone she interacts with a "Frost Mark" as she calls it.

It's basically Daleth's method of ensuring that no one can view the letter alive. As for what it does to the victim, that would be a secret for now.

She refreshed her ink and continued writing.

"Regarding the four families that currently reign over Mondstadt, the Lawrence Clan is the most influential."

"The current clan head of this clan has many concubines and as such, there are many legitimate and illegitimate heirs to the clan."

"And due to this, an anonymous requestor put in a request to the underground society to put a mission to kill a certain Lawrence Clan heir. I had already confirmed that the one that put in this request is another heir of that clan."

"Needless to say, I accepted the mission, prepared necessary preparations, and executed it without hindrance."

After writing this, Daleth looked at the bloody dagger next to her before continuing writing.

"The organization that I am forming is currently under the wraps. I recently got in contact with another secret organization that wanted to recruit me, so I joined. This is not permanent as I shall only learn things from the inside before determining their strength."

"It seems like their head is very careful and cunning. Although he or she still hasn't appeared before the members, they had already established authority over them."

"Though, I suspect that there is more than one leader of this organization. Needless to say, I have to find this out myself."

After writing this, she stopped writing for a while and took a deep breath before exhaling.

She slightly leaned her head back as she stared up at the ceiling.

After a few moments, she leaned forwards again and continued writing.

"Do not worry, my lord. This mission, I will complete it. It will only take for quite a time before it happens."

"As for the Snow Boar King Moccus, I know that he too shall try his best to do as you told. As such, I shall not fall behind."

"And regarding the Geo Archon's information... I'm afraid I still haven't found anyone that has a single bit of a clue regarding the Adeptus of Liyue."

"But rest assured. I will do everything in my power to complete this mission you gave me. Everything."

"D."

After writing the last letter, Daleth finished writing and sighed. She then brews up some small cryo energy to dry the ink before placing it inside an envelope.

After doing this, she placed it inside her handbag and stood up.

She walked towards the wooden door to exit the Inn she was in. Just then, just as she was about to touch the doorknob, she abruptly stopped her hands.

Her eyes then squinted as she looked at the door in front of her. Without any hesitation, she conjured up cryo elements in her hands as she formed two ice daggers before conjuring a cryo shield.

After doing this, she immediately kicked down the door and jumped out.

What met her was a group of knights holding swords who looked like they were about to barge into her room.

Sparing no time, Daleth agilely moved her body as she came and sliced a knight's neck open in cold blood.

"IT'S HER!" One of the knights shouted, seeing the kill in front of him

"EVERYONE, KILL HER HERE NOW!" Another knight said before charging against Daleth

It was not just him, the other knights too charged at her. With such a narrow hallway and a dozen knights charging at her, Daleth was left with no choice.

She closed her eyes, and for a brief moment, it was as if time had stopped. A knight that was a few inches away from her was holding his sword up, about to slash her. And a knight holding a spear from the rear trying to go for the kill.

However, in Daleth's view, their movements became extremely slow.

"Haaa..." A cold white fog escaped her beautiful pale rose-pink lips

She then opened her eyes, revealing her rather unique pupils that resembled that of a Snowflake's.

Her pupils grew bright as cryo energy swirled around her. And with Daleth's command, a huge burst of cryo element escaped her body.

*BOOM*

The Inn's walls exploded as ice and snow covered the walls that just got blasted.

This of course, greatly startled the citizens nearby that were sleeping and went to check what happened.

However, when they arrived, they could only watch from a distance as they saw the situation.

Ice was falling from the sky even though it was still not near winter. And the wall where there was a hole, had ice and snow covering it. And inside the hallway, it was even worse.

Cold ice and snow covered the whole hallway. The knights, who were bravely charging against an enemy just a minute ago, all had turned to meat slices as ice preserved their meat.

And without the people knowing, the main perpetrator had already hidden behind the crowd's backs as she wore a hood and entered a secluded alleyway, disappearing in the night.
