18 Mondstadt Pt.6

"Bravo Bravo Aether! That was an entertaining fight. But why did you attack them with the intent to kill?" Kaeya congratulated Aether while coming out of a tree.

"This guy huh... wait..." Aether looked around him. Guards around him were moaning in pain or injured.

"So this bitch.... made me injure three or more Knights just for trespassing? And all for some tests. No wonder Diluc doesn't like him. I bet he has been spying on me while I was adventuring." Aether gripped his sword even harder. He didn't like being in the background, and he has experienced it firsthand now. "So this is how background characters feel huh. It's pretty suffocating." Aether thought amused.

(" I don't understand. Why are they fighting?")

"But how did he know my name. Only Amber..... knows my name... Fuck..... he somehow must've got out of her, Jean or Lisa. Obviously attacking the Knights of Favonius is an offense. Especially when some of them are injured and bleeding. Shit.... what a great first impression....." Aether thought. He was really angry now. But he stopped himself.

"If I wanted to I could've killed them but I didn't. What came over me when they faced me? It's like I've been controlled by something..... the teardrop.... it's so obvious. How do I come up with that conclusion? I don't know. But I really need to examine it further." Aether thought calming down.

"Hello.... Hello? Hey man are you okay? You've been spacing out for a while now...." Aether snapped out of it only to see Kaeya pointing his sword in front of him.

"Is he attacking me? A test or an arrest?" Aether thought immediately slapping the sword away. The sword flew into the sky but Kaeya caught it again.

"He's good." Aether thought then he put his weapons away.

"Why did you send them to me? Do you want to test me or are you here to arrest me for a simple violation of trespassing?" Aether sat down. His spinning fire wheels have disappeared.... for now....

"What test?" Kaeya asked innocently.

"Boi you better—

"Okay okay yes I was testing you... but I didn't think you would.... resort to this...." Kaeya waved his hands around him.

"I don't know what you were thinking when you decided to test me. You could've sent me a letter saying that there is a trial for new adventurers or something. Not this..... I'm pretty sure I'm going to jail for this." Aether looked over Mondstadt.

"I'm pretty sure you wouldn't believe that. From what I saw you are a pretty observing person. And no you're not going to jail for this, no one is involved in this except for me and these guys." Kaeya said sitting down on a ledge.

"So you were spying on me. This "test" you designed is very pointless. What if I shot my attack faster than you could stop me? What would've happened then?" Aether asked looking at him seriously.

"Yeah.... let's not think about that. We wouldn't be talking like old friends right now." Kaeya replied staring at the ground.

"Speaking of friends. How could we be friends if I don't know your name? Mysterious knight?" Aether stood up and kicked a guy who was lying on the ground. Oh yeah, if you were wondering about the guys Aether was going to attack, they ran off.

"Kaeya. Calvary Captain of the Knights of Favonius. I already know your name." Kaeya said putting his hand out. Aether reluctantly shook it. He was still untrustworthy of him.

"Oh come on. Don't be so untrustworthy of me. I definitely didn't try to get you in jail or something." Kaeya smirked.

"That's why you don't have a girlfriend." Aether said.

"That's why your shoes are raggedy— wait how'd you know?" Kaeya asked while raising his eyebrow.

" This motherfucker..... A guess Kaeya. A lucky guess." Aether said grumbling.

"C'mon I'm bringing you to the headquarters. We need to introduce you to Master Jean." Kaeya said getting ready to head there.

"I know you didn't just forget about these bodies laying on the ground." Aether stopped him.

"What... oh the clean up crew will deal with that. " Kaeya dismissed it.

"What cleanup crew? I don't see anybody. And you're not telling me to help you clean up your mess either. You started your mess, you deal with the aftermath yourself bitch. See ya." Aether teleported away to the teleporter near the Big Barbatos Statue.

"This kid....." Kaeya stared at where Aether was at helplessly.

Paimon appeared next to Aether."Phew. We've avoided a big disaster. Paimon was sure that Kaeya guy was going to attack you as well." Paimon wiped her sweat that was on her head off.

"Yeah. Turns out motherfucker wants to test me. He didn't expect that reaction now?" Aether said gliding down to the ground with Paimon following him.

"Bet he didn't! Now why are we going to the Knights of Favonius headquarters? " Paimon asked curiously.

"We're here to meet the Acting Grand Master and the librarian Lisa." Aether said walking up the stairs.

"But why though? Are they going to judge us or something?" Paimon was scared.

"I think not. But we have to wait for Kaeya to be here. I don't think the guards will let an uninvited guest in. Although we have other options." Aether grinned evilly but he stopped himself.

"We're not going to follow that idea though." Aether said sitting on a bench and waited for Kaeya to arrive. He saw a sister of the Church playing a song with her lyre and singing beautifully.

"Sometimes you just have to enjoy it while you can." Aether thought staring at the sight. There were a lot of people around the statue. Most of them are praying, and the others are listening to the sister's singing.

"Hey you're here." Kaeya said appearing out of nowhere.

"What happened to the bodies?" Aether asked curiously.

"I dragged them to the church. The Deaconess Barbara fainted when she saw the condition they were in. A sister said she'll take over for now and allow Barbara to rest for a while. And then I walked out and found you sitting here with your friend." Kaeya said leaning against a wall.

"Paimon's name is well... Paimon." Paimon introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you Paimon. My name's Kaeya, but we have to cut the introductions short as we are almost late for the meeting with Master Jean and Lisa." Kaeya said walking to the headquarters with Aether following him.

"Didn't know you cared about being punctual." Aether said.

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me." Kaeya said smiling.

"Aside from the fact that you don't have a girlfriend. Yes, I know dog shit about you." Aether Slyly commented about the single part.

"Ack!" Kaeya swore he was about to spit out blood.

"What's wrong man? Did you choked on something?" Aether asked grinning with Paimon giggling at the side.

"N-nothing it's fine." Kaeya reassured Aether. "I'm going to get you back someday." Kaeya thought getting annoyed.

"Alright we're here. " Kaeya said nodding to the guards. The guards opened the door and let the three of them in. He didn't question anything as Kaeya is a higher up.

"Hide behind this wall. I'll knock and you'll know when to do your entrance." Kaeya said giving Aether a thumbs up.

"Alright I guess. Better not be another test." Aether muttered.

"Trust me it won't be." Kaeya said smiling and knocked on the door.

On the other side of the wall. "Where is he? He's supposed to be here minutes ago." Amber said getting impatient by the minute.

"Fufufufu Please have patience Amber. Captain Kaeya is known for arriving at the perfect moment. Perfect as being 1 second from being late." Lisa said giggling.

" Alright I guess. But if he's even one second late I swear on Barbatos I'll shove an arrow in his—

*Knock Knock Knock*

"Ahhh that must be him. Enter." Jean said and the door opened.

"Hello everybody. I'm not late am i?" Kaeya said stepping in the room.

"Captain Kaeya. You're One second from being late for the meeting! A Knight is supposed to be punctual!" Amber said angrily.

"But I was not late right Amber?" Kaeya smiled.

"Grrrrrrr" Amber turned away angry.

"And.... I also brought a guest to our meeting." Kaeya added.

"A guest? We didn't invite other people beside us to this meeting? What are you planning Kaeya?" Jean said narrowing her eyes at him.

"I promise it's nothing harmful. In fact all of you might even be delighted about this surprise guest. You can come in now man." Kaeya signalled for Aether.

"That growl was cute Amber." Aether commented while entering the office.

Amber's eyes widened. "Aether?"

Aether walked in the room with Paimon beside him. "Hi guys!" Paimon waved at them. Amber ran towards Aether.

"Aether!" She jumped and hugged him.

"Oh crap!" Aether caught her.

"Hi Amber, it's only been a week and you've missed me that much?" Aether hugged back with an amused face.

"You didn't even find me! Of course I missed you!" Amber said looking at his face and pouted.

"As I thought. I still can't resist the pouts." Aether thought smiling.

"Ehm! Not to ruin your reunion or anything but we're still in a meeting." Jean disturbed with a small embarrassed blush on her face.

"Spicy ~" Lisa thought.

Amber saw the position that they were in and jumped off immediately. "Ehehe. Sorry Master Jean. I can't control myself." Amber apologized blushing.

"Haaaaahh. It's alright. Just don't do it in front of us okay?" Jean sighed.

"Don't listen to her. In fact do that even more. It's spicy~" Lisa licked her lips. That's when Aether realized.... he fucked up....

"Shit they're both so hot." Aether thought not liking what's going to come.
