11 Amber Pt. 4

"Why did you run off like that?! I thought I told you to stay back?!" Amber scolded Aether.

"This doesn't intimidate me. It just looks cute." Aether thought heart melting slowly.

" What's wrong? Don't want a man to protect you or something? I have a sword for a reason you know? " Aether raised his eyebrows and asked.

" It— it's not that. It's my duty as an Outrider to protect the ones that I promised to protect." Amber replied flustered.

"Oh so it's that reason. I thought you don't want me to cut its head off or something. Still it's a lame reason. I could've helped you." Aether realized and replied unfazed.

" You—you're making me really mad! I should shoot my arrow at you!" Amber shouted angrily. She raised her bow at him.

" Ahhh No she's gonna kill us! " Paimon hid behind Aether scared for her life. Meanwhile for Aether, he wasn't even scared.

" She's pouting while aiming at me. How cute can she get? " Aether thought looking at Amber.

" Why aren't you shooting me? I thought you wanted to. " Aether asked Amber to mess with her. Amber's hands were shaking while aiming at her.

"Is she about to cry or something? I don't know how to comfort a girl though. Oh I know, act natural." Aether thought while preparing to activate comfort bear mode.

Amber finally gave in. She lowered her bow and sighed again. "Arghhhhh I can't do it with you being like that! I'll get you next time. That's my promise to you!" Amber vowed.

(That won't be the only vow she's taking)

"Hey! How stupid are you Aether. If she had shot the arrow it would've hit you and Paimon as well!" Paimon came out and yelled at me angrily.

"But did she shoot though?" Aether asked smugly. Amber got more angrier as he is making fun of her even more.

"Well what if she did?" Paimon asked raising her eyebrow at Aether to see how he would answer.

"Let's not think about that. C'mon the camp is this way." Aether went to the location of the camp. Paimon shook her head and followed Aether.

"Hey wait up!", Amber ran after them.

When they arrived at the camp, Aether was already counting the numbers of the hilichurls.

"Two archers and four club dudes. Two of them have shields. " Aether planned how to kill them all swiftly inside his mind.

" Haven't cleared a camp in weeks. Amber's probably gonna tell me to stay here and let her do the fighting. Like that's ever gonna happen. " Aether thought.

" Alright you guys stay here and wait for a while. I'll be back in a minute. "Amber said confidently while taking out her bow and was about to run to them but Aether interrupted her.

"Paimon you stay here. It won't take long. " Aether muttered to Paimon.

"Oh okay... Stay safe okay? " Paimon looked at Aether worriedly. She had never seen Aether fighting this much hilichurls before. She only saw him fight slimes and heard about him destroying a camp before this.

"Don't worry Paimon. I won't die that easily." Aether smiled at her but then he got serious. He summoned his sword and spear out of thin air.

This was a spell that was taught to all weapon users. He was taught by Paimon and he became a master quickly. He ran to the camp.

"Wait Come back!" Amber tried to stop him but he was already gone.

"Come and fight me!" Aether smirked and rushed at an unsuspecting hilichurl. It was only when Aether got closer it noticed him.

"Rrrrraaahhh!!" The hilichurl battle cried before it ran at Aether swinging his club.

"Am I experiencing deja vu?" Aether thought. Fire magic ignited on both of his weapons.

Amber stopped." Pyro element? And he's wielding a sword and a spear. He couldn't be that person could he?!" Amber still had flashbacks to that place. It made her sick in her stomach whenever she thought about it.

The hilichurl got close to striking range.

"Die."

Aether stabbed his spear in its neck.

*Ccchaaakk!!*

"Guukkkkrraa...." The hilichurl was dead but Aether wasn't done. He pulled out hard. It fell forward. Aether swung his sword from the right and cut off its head. Paimon looked away quickly.

*Shiiikkk!!*

The head flew to the left. The other hilichurls were finally alerted. They all looked at him. One fired an arrow from its crossbow.

*Fiuuuu...*

Aether dodge out of the way easily. He decided that the hilichurl archers were going to die first.

Another archer aimed and fired at him but Aether saw that coming as well and dodged. He was now in front of the first archer. He stabbed his spear and it destroyed the crossbow.

*Praaaakkkkk!!!*

Wood chunks were all that were left now. But the spear didn't stop there.

"I wonder what will happen when I add my wind element to it?" Aether thought mid strike. He decided to give it a shot. Small wind currents were now flowing around the tip of the spear.It seemed to make the fire go wilder.

*Chikkk!!*

*BOOOFF!!!*

The spear didn't go all the way through but the combustion exploded inside the hilichurl. It destroyed its back and fire flew out from it.

Aether pulled out.

*Fiuuuuuu...*

Aether raised his hands up on instinct again.

*Chaak!!*

"Arghhh..* Aether held back a scream. But Paimon somehow heard his struggle. Amber meanwhile was watching all of it in a daze.

" Aether!" Paimon screamed out of shock.

" Not again.... I'm fine Paimon it's just a flesh wound! " Aether shouted back.

" But the arrows inside of your hand! " Paimon pointed at the arrow that was stuck in his hand.

" Like it said. It's just a flesh wound! It would heal back quickly! " Aether brushed it off and went to the hilichurl archer that just gave him that flesh wound.

Aether dashed to the hilichurl. He slashed his sword horizontally from the right. It left a big gash on the chest. But he wasn't done.

*Sisssh!!!*

Aether spun and slashed upwards. It cut the hilichurl in half.

*Sisssh*

*Poof!*

A beautiful fire cross appeared where Aether striked. Aether flipped and landed on the ground gracefully. "Definitely did not steal that from Xing Qiu. What is he doing anyways? Reading books I guess. " Aether pondered while two hilichurls with shields charge at him.

"Easy." Was all Aether said before stabbed his spear into the hilichurls chest. The spear and sword still have his fire and wind magic around it so it made quite a mess.

*Pssshsh!!!* Paimon had to close her eyes again and Amber was looking like she was about to puke.

He let the spear go and went to the other one. The hilichurl tried to hit him but he dodged it and cut opened its side. The hilichurl fell down in pain and Aether was behind it. Aether stabbed through its back mercilessly. It died. Aether pulled his spear out of the dead hilichurl he killed before. A shadow appeared behind him.

It was a hilichurl jumping towards him. It raised it's club and was ready to striking Aether until he cut of it's club.

*Prakkkkkk...*

The wind and fire magic cut the hilichurl. The hilichurl landed and walked towards Aether slowly.

"Should've aimed for the head.Need to work on that." Aether stabbed his sword through its head. Brain matter exploded and blood flew all over the place. Some got in Aether.

"Next time strike faster so you'll actually give me a challenge." Aether muttered and looked at his clothes.

" Awww Come On! I barely got this cleaned and now it's dirty again! " Aether whined.
