3 Lone Wolf

Sitting at the table, Qin Song didn't hurry to start eating, calmly looking at Kevin and waiting for him to talk.

"Don't be angry anymore. It's not good to keep things in your heart, just focus on your daily life for now and try to be positive.", Kevin Lee said, while his expression became solemn and serious.

Qin Song looked at Kevin for a few seconds and seemed to remember the worlds said by Kevin, while he smiled at him. The two men picked up their chopsticks and began to eat.

Kevin is a Christian. Although today he just spoke some random sentences, in the past ten years he would often quote some parts of the Bible before their meals. Qin Song already got used to it, and even sometimes it caused him to self-reflect on his behaviour.

During the meal, the two chatted casually. Most of it was just Kevin asking Qin Song where he went during the day, if he saw anything interesting, what he was doing today and if there was anything he wanted to share with him, while Qin Song would usually just respond with 1 or 2 sentences to Kevin, being a little absent-minded.

After they finished eating, Kevin took the initiative to pick up the dishes and clean them up in the kitchen.

When Kevin left, Qin Song returned to his bedroom. As said before, his bedroom is pretty small and it's designed in a very simple way, with a desk, some book shelves and a bed put against the wall.

He walked over to the bookshelf and picked up a German language textbook from it.

Qin Song was always a very self-disciplined person. Since being adopted he was spending most of his time on football, but that didn't prevent him from studying. Because of a suggestion made by Kevin, he started being interested in European culture and their languages.

Currently, his English was on a pretty good level, allowing him to communicate with others using it without any issues. After stopping learning English, when he was thinking about which language to learn next, Kevin told him that German should be easier to learn for him, since both English and German belong to the same language family.

In the process of learning, Qin Song very often will wander around his room or even the whole apartment, since he doesn't like to stay stationary without any purpose for too long. Usually, he'll take 2 hours every day to study.

At around ten o'clock, he went into the bathroom to take a shower. Half an hour later, he went to his bed to sleep.

In the darkness of the room, he looked up at the ceiling.

He's been an orphan for as long as he could remember, not knowing if he was abandoned on purpose or if perhaps he was placed in the orphanage by a mistake. Perhaps his parents are already dead.

In this world, even if he currently lives in a comfortable apartment and perhaps has a very good living situation in the eyes of others, he still remembers that none of it belongs to him.

However, Qin Song never resented anyone, accepting everything calmly, as he looked towards his own future.

This is also the so called 'positive optimism' that Kevin has been trying to teach him ever since they've known each other.

Last month, he just finished his 17th birthday.

For Qin Song, the age of 17 is a milestone, a time when he should go and fight for his own life, playing professional football.

But after waiting for a month, he was still here, in a place where nothing belongs to him…

Qin Song slowly closed his eyes and went to sleep.

In the early morning of the next day, he neatly dressed himself and came out to prepare for his training.

Qin Song is earlier than anyone else. He is always full of spirit when it comes to training. Thanks to his good state of mind and decent sleep, his physical recovery is guaranteed. He will finish jogging and warming up when others have not even arrived yet. Pick the ball and start familiarizing yourself with it before the official training begins.

At this point in time, he is hitting the ball with his feet. Football is gently bouncing back and forth under his control.

Occasionally, he'll rise the ball high to use other parts of his body to make contact with it, but he can always keep the football from falling on the ground.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Qin Song is some sort of natural genius that can play football with his eyes closed, but anyone who has been training for over 10 years should be able to do this easily.

While outside the training base some young teenagers who like football might like Qin Song, but inside the training base, he's not really well liked by most people here.

Most people here are orphans. They've been trained in playing football since their early days, so their skills should be relatively similar, but Qin Song's growth is much bigger than theirs.

Since the age of 8, Qin Song was obviously stronger than his peers. Thanks to that, he's been cultivated more than some other kids, and at the same time he received more concern from the base's teachers, physiotherapists and coaches, not to mention the fact that he also can live alone with Kevin in a pretty big apartment if compared to the living standards of other children here.

Also, Qin Song's natural disposition is also partially a reason for that. When most people would socialise with each other after living in the same dormitory for years, Qin Song wouldn't go out with them to play, neither would he communicate or show goodwill towards them.

All of this can easily lead to other people's jealousy.

Qin Song is often silent and likes to be alone. His only hobby aside from playing football is painting, at which he is also very good and often uses it to show his inner emotions.
