5 (Entrance to School)

Walking into the auditorium was like listening to 'bass boosted ear rape' on full volume with headphones. In other words, it was loud. The velvety seats were filled with examinees. The rows were filled with the whirs and clicks of machinery, tables popping out of the armrests, surprised many. Though with today's technology, enlarging and shrinking metal was as easy as cutting melting butter. I walked along the rows, trying to find a seat.

After some searching, I finally found a seat. I sat down, feeling the velvety surface...

"Mmkay... yeah, anyways... Are you going to take the test or..." said something in my ear.

"Umm... Yes..." I replied, still sinking into the chair. 'Pop' the table appeared in front of me, and a pen appeared in my hand...

The test was fairly simple, for one, it measured your bloodline through the paper... Then it would quiz you on your knowledge, as well as take your physique and tier power through some A.I. means, and put that into a quantifiable number through 100. It took all of that data and put you in a class with 3 others. I don't mean to brag, but my number was a solid 1. My theory was the best, but my physicality and tier were worse than the worst.

"Power 1: Class 0: Age: 7 Potential: ERROR ----" The A.I. suddenly shut down... The building's lights turned off, and everything went awry from there.

"Nothing is as it appears Jero," A voice coldly said, "Now die for me." Silence ensued, but I was out of the game then.

Later, I'm told that the explosion killed exactly 9999999 animals, and the one animal missing was me. Of the bodies found, I wasn't one.

"Did I pass the exam?" I groaned, "Where am I?"

"How are you not dead? The little specimen... Why are you alive?" The cold voice sang, "Why do you resist? Why are you fighting?"

"Because he is the hero, the one to save you from this mom, he is the one whom cannot die... Yet." A smaller voice rang out. The melody of her voice was soothing, like the waters of a creek, unlike the 'mother' that sounded like a creaky closet door.

"Fine, if this hero can save me, I'll give him a chance. Within 10 years, he must solve the riddle. Ok?" said the cold voice.

"Fine do as you say" as the kind voice coldly said that, I could almost see her, so close, yet so far.

"Little hero, the riddle goes as such, 'What is power, and why does it rule?' if you answer this within ten years, I will let you live at the paramount of life for the rest of your life. In these years, I will give you the power to change it, such as your past life. This time, do not fail me!" the cold voice cried, echoing through my mind.

Power coursed through my veins, my head hurt, but it was worth it. Small explosions crackled about, I knew because I failed in my past life, I would not be allowed to do so in the current one. Determination floated through my body, I got ready for the pain. 'Boom!'

I cried out in pain, my body felt like it was in a pool of lava, hotter than the sun. Pressure came from outside my body, feeling like I was going to be crushed like a tin can. Feeling faint, I gritted my teeth, screaming in agony. Darkness' embrace seemed like a blessing when it came.

I opened my eyes, staring uncomprehendingly into a splintered wooden wall. It was almost broken, the creak and groan of the staves in the 'wall' startled me awake. Thinking up to a point, I tried moving my arms. 'Crack' The air around me whipped into a frenzy, snapping the staves into oblivion. My eyes widened as the rubble around me caved in, covering me in it. Digging myself out took hours.

When I finally got out of the rubble, the sun and clouds were a delight. I stretched, basking in the sun's rays. I was finally free, I took the chance to look around, hearing a sound like people excavating the rubble. As I looked around at the rescue parties, they suddenly stopped, slowly turning their heads.

"Hey, kid! What are you doing out here! Don't you know this is a restricted area!" a worker cried, "Come here, I'm going to take you to the police. You little rascal!" I nodded my consent, uncomprehending that they were looking for me, yet mistook me for a grave robber.
