9 (A New Beginning)

"That's it now, keep coming, you can do it now!" Encouraged my father. Walking felt strange to me, even though I should've known how to anyways.

New life felt good, and from what I heard outside, it was going to keep being that way. Other than that cold lady's question weighing on my mind, there wasn't much that worried me.

In this life, I was determined to figure out the answer, which meant that I had to be the pinnacle of power to even have a glimmer of hope to solve it. As it was, I was still a toddler, that wasn't foremost at the moment.

My mother and father were a part of the royal council and were considered to be the closest to the emperor. My father was extremely powerful, almost more powerful than the emperor, and my mother was a smidgen off from being the most powerful person in the empire.

I had two brothers and one sister, all of whom were older than I. They all attended different academies, and all of them were geniuses in their own right. My brother Phil was 45 years old and had his own family already. (My parents were only 10 years old when they had him...) My brother Jeffery was the twin brother of Phil, but he was single, much to the disappointment of my parents. My sister, Tara, was 15 years old and was studying abroad at a college in another country.

Out of us four siblings, I was closest to my sister, whom I saw every other year. She was the only one I ever saw with my own eyes. My brothers always sent gifts and the like but never came personally. Made me wonder what kind of people they were.

Despite who my parents were, I lived in a humble abode, with little decorum or glamour. My parents didn't want me to be a snob. There was a small forest behind our house, and I loved to climb in the trees. Those were peaceful days.

As I grew older, the question always plagued me, still there, but pushed away for the time. On top of growing up, I was expected to learn about cultivation within the realm. The power system always seemed to elude me, I could never seem to get a handle on the levels.

One day, I found a book lying on the ground outside. It was unassuming, and unless I hadn't stumbled upon it (Literally) and fallen, I would've never seen it. The book was worn, to say the least. The leather bindings were smoothed over so much you couldn't even read the title on the outside.

It was strange how I found it, and I always wondered where it came from, but upon turning it open, I was shocked. The whole book was a chapter, and it was a bit confusing, but it enlightened me to no end.
