The Queen has a great fashion sense!

"Princess!"

A far away call was heard and Rei purred before slowly dissolved into specks of light that became invisible to the eye. A maid came running towards the garden, her hair was in disarray with her clothes disheveled and dirty, she was panting and looked extremely exhausted with an red face and wet patched on her collar. She stood trying to catch her breath as if she'd run a marathon.

"What is it?" Zhou Lan asked not seeming to care for the poor maid who had obviously run all the way here.

"The Emperor has requested your presence at your own birthday party!"

Crap!

They had completely forgotten about that!

"Go on ahead I'll be there!" She said and the maid nodded and scurried away groaning as she once again began to run. Once she was out of sight Rei reappeared and Zhou Lan climbed on his back. "Climb on let's go!" Zhou Lan said with a broad grin on her face to her friend.

Liu Lian climbed on and they were swiftly off on the snow tiger. The princess's excited shrieks echoed around the palace drawing the attention of all the palace maids. The servants knew better than to ask questions so they just bowed in fear of the ferocious beast. The Tiger roared sprinting upside down on the ceiling scaring the heck out of the officials. One of them ran away screaming completely forgetting his dignity and even dropping his hat.

The Emperor was in a bad mood, her eyes were deadly and he emitted an oppressing aura, and this was all naturally because the princess wasn't at the party. A million thoughts passed through his head as he and his officials waited with their backs drenched in cold sweat. Was she kidnapped? She might have been held as a hostage as we speak. Was she killed? Was she poisoned?

His face got darker with every passing thought and the tension in the hall soon increased by ten folds, only the empresses and the other princes seemed not to be affected because they were used to their father's moods when it came to his only daughter.

However to everyone else the king was truly terrifying, luckily for them the tension was immediately erased once a happy and gentle voice was heard from the entrance, "Emperor!"

The atmosphere had immediately reverted back to normal and the king smiled like nothing had happened as Zhou Lan appeared through the door. Unfortunately his relief was short lived because as soon as he saw she was on a tiger he froze petrified for his daughter's safety.

"Zhou Lan! What is that beast!? Quickly get off!" He yelled in fear as he pointed at the white furry creature.

Zhou Lan let out a heart warming laugh and approached her father who was scared stiff.

"It's fine father, this is one of my birthday present!"

Was this an assassination attempt?

"Who would dare to give Zhen's princess such a dangerous animal!?" The Emperor boomed showing his rage.

"Father!" the officials gasped as the princess interrupted the Emperor who's words were like a command from the heavens!

Zhou Lan said with a frown, her father was seriously too extra.

"This is a spirit beast! So stop being angry, ok?"

Spirit beasts had long become a thing of legend along with spirit beast tamers. For her to have one, there was no way. The Emperor looked at her suspiciously, he didn't believe his daughter had that type of ability.

"You don't believe me?" Zhou Lan questioned rhetorically. "Rei!" And the tiger immediately jumped up and ran up to the ceiling, definitely not normal!

The emperor was dumbstruck, having a spirit beast tamer in the royal family gave them a huge boost in power and authority.

Very good! Reward for who gave this present! Big reward!

"Zhou Lan, tell me who gave you this present?" He asked his daughter hanging from the ceiling. Zhou Lan and Rei jumped down and she proudly announced her best friend.

"The prime minister's di miss, princess Liu Ji Lian!" The entire assembly was shocked stiff. How could the prime minister's daughter have such a priceless treasure!?

Liu Lian smirked as she made her grand entrance, she paid no heed to the fact that such an announcement would attract unwanted attention and many kidnapping and assassination attempts. Let them come if they dare!

Her dress gracefully trialed behind her immediately capturing various women's attention. A black and white dress? Young women like her like to wear bright colours right?

Was the young miss of the prime minister's household retarded?

As people's thoughts ran wild the Empress noticed her gown and her eyes widened in shock.

Liu Lian quickly bowed before the emperor.

"May the emperor live a thousand years!"

The emperor was too happy to care about the colour of her dress. "Princess, you have done the royal family a favour, name your request and I shall grant it!"

The son of the heavens had promised!

The crowd was in an uproar! Who had received such a boon before!?

Liu Lian was not expecting to be granted a blank cheque. She smirked glancing at her father who looked speechless, she sighed, what a useless man.

"If it would please your majesty I would like a mountain villa and a herb garden contains rare herbs."

That's it?

You had an open cheque and you asked for a villa? Maybe the young miss was really retarded. In contrasts to the people's expectations, the Emperor was very happy that she asked a simple reasonable request that he could grant, because of that he felt oddly generous.

"The princess is virtuous! 100 million gold coins to be granted!"

100 million... enough to last a low grade noble family 3 lifetimes!

The empress just stared on, she hadn't payed any attention at all to what was happening, instead her eyes were glued to the dress.

What fabulous style!

As expected the Empress has a great fashion sense!
