11 Introducing the young master!

Soon enough the dowry had been sent, and since concubine Mei was currently taking care of Liu Bai she hadn't been in charge of the household, Liu Lian was. But they were too many spies, all integrated into different aspects, almost like a disease. Therefore, concubine Mei really had to go.

500 creates were sent containing jewellery, precious items, rare medicine, and clothes. Anyone who saw the procession of carriages would immediately know that Liu Lian was lucky, she instantly became the richest young miss in the kingdom! Liu Lian smiled in self-satisfaction as she watched the servants bring in the dowry into her new courtyard. The difference was vast!

To her request, a herb garden was added and she immediately asked Mei Li to plant all the rare seeds to grow them, this way she could begin to brew a wider range of poison and medicine, she also needed to make more glue, the stronger the better. She could use it to catch any people sneaking around her house.

As she sorted her dowry she came across a healing ointment, looking at it she could tell it was 70% potent. It was indeed very rare. She handed it to Mei Li, "send it to Liu Bai, let her heal."

Mei Li didn't question her misses for her reason for giving out this rare herbal ointment. Unknown to her, to Liu Lian 70% potent was complete trash! She had been a woman who created the 99% potent ointment and expected her to treat a measly 70% as rare!?

As she began to sort through the clothes a letter had arrived from the princess. Reading it, she smiled, it seems like she had been invited to the princesses party, and since she was invited then the other shu born children would be trying to curry favour with her right?

She sighed, the other shu children had been oppressed by concubine Mei for so long, Liu Lian had hardly seen any of them. Keeping the letter on the table she started to think about what present she should give the princess.

Maybe a pet?

If she was correct then in her past life girls her age loved pets, cute, small and furry pets.

"Cloak," She said In s cold tone and a red cloak was draped on her. She covered her hair with the hood and changed her shoes. Then she asked her servants to prepare a carriage for her.

Liu Lian hadn't been outside before so she felt her mood lighten as she walked towards the entrance.

But her mood was disrupted by loud and chatting coming from one of the minor courtyards. She briskly walked towards the group of maids who she noticed were shrieking in desperation.

She immediately broke out into a small run as she felt a sense of urgency, then she realised some of the maids were crying.

"What's the matter!?" She asked as she noticed they were all gathered around a fairly large pond. One of the maids turned to her, her eyes were red and swollen.

"The second young master! He fell into the pond!"

Liu Lian, without thinking, took off her outer garments and jumped into the pond shocking the maids who stared dumbfounded.

The di miss was normally timid and cowardly, who would think that she would risk her life to save the young master!

The young master was only 7 years old, born of a concubine who wasn't even favoured!

But the young miss had actually jumped into the water to save little Qui Qing! Liu Lian soon came up with the young boy who was cold. "Heat up my room quickly!" She commanded as she covered the young boy in her clothes and began to press against his chest to make him cough up the excess water.

She immediately carried him to her room as the servants scrambled around trying to get more stoves. "Quickly! Blankets!" She shouted and to Mei Li she screamed, "bring me one heat rejuvenating pill, a mortar and pistol, and a cup of warm water!"

A heat rejuvenating pill! The maids were stupefied. Who didn't know how precious and expensive such a pill was !? Now the young miss was willing to spend it on the young master! Such a story would move people to tears!

In all honesty, Liu Lian just had no idea that such a low-quality pill was considered precious in this world. If she had known she would definiately have sold it for a laarge sum of money as it was being handed over to her.
