Liu Lian's eyes lit up as she came out to an opening filled with gorgeous stones and jewels. It was as beautiful garden with treasures all around it, she had really struck gold today!

"Let's get home quickly!" She instantly picked the book and a whirlwind of gold dust seem to engulf

Bo Jing asked the little boy wrapped in warm clothes. Qui Qing was a bit lost, eldest brother didn't really talk to him, and his mother had always warned him to stay away from the other shu children lest he aroused their animosity.

Bo Jing nodded and he turned to the servant by his side. "Make sure to make some warm soup for 5th youngest brother. Buy him him some new clothes and make sure he is comfortable."

Qui Qing's eyes widened, this was the most anyone had ever done for him. First, jie jie saves him and now his gege was buying him food and new clothes. He smiled brightly triggering Bo Jing to also smile at the young boy before leaving. I guess he doesn't mind plotting with his step sister when he is not in court.

Everything started from this day, the three Liu siblings. They would dazzle and amaze the world with their amazing ability and prowess.

"Young miss!" Mei Li shouted in fright when she saw her young miss climb over the courtyard wall with torn and dirty clothes.

The old, dusty book in her hand and a white snake around her neck. "Quickly, help me clean myself." She says quickly dropping the book and the snake.

Mei Li eyed the snake wearily but proceeded to help her miss. This was the first time she had seen miss with any animals. As far as she could tell, her miss hated animals, especially snakes.

"What happened exactly while i was gone? Where is Qui Qing?" Mei Li carefully narrated everything and Liu Lian smiled, at least her maid wasn't stupid. It was good she knew that being a good character means you die immediately.

"Reward" She said and she gave Mei Li a few gold coins from her chests.

1 silver coin = 1,000 bronze coins

1 gold coin = 1,000 silver coins.

That was enough to feed a small family for 100 years!

"Thanking miss!" She says quickly knocking her head on the floor.

"No need" Liu Lian said as she changed. "The more intelligent you prove to be the more rewards you will get."

She swiftly tied her hair into a bun. "Give these heat rejuvenating pills to young masters, come back after you have made sure they receive it."

She handed four heat rejuvenating pills, two in a separate pouch, over to Mei Li.

"Make sure to go unnoticed, be quick so we can sort out my dress for the ball in a few days."

Mei Li left swiftly and Liu Lian was left to her own thoughts. She looked at the book and smiled, if the princess was as smart as she believed she was then this book would be used effectively.
