1 Prologue

It was a great day for a celebration. Margrave Jacob had legally succeeded his father's position as Margrave of Bethejam 3 years ago when the old margrave, Maximus, was ambushed and kill by raiding parties sent by an enemy province.

With the turmoil ongoing with the death of the emperor and the subsequent succession war between the princes, the surrounding countries chose this opputune time to raid. The province of Bethejam was rich in minerals and with the river silas it was a booming economical centre, bordering 3 other country's borders. Thus it was a ripe target for raids.

Maximus lead(past tense) a force in an attempt to reinforce a critial border fortress, however, he was caught in an ambush and was killed. In order to calm the populance of the border regions, Jacob was forced into the position of Margrave without the emperor's approval. For the first year, Jacob was busy delegating his fathers old subodinates to stabalise the region.
