I woke up expecting to be in my dorm room. I wasn't. I was in the infirmary, which I was unfamiliar with. I got up feeling fine.

Never mind. I immediately lied down and closed my eyes. What was going on? I remember everything clearly. So it couldn't be a dream. What the heck was a life element? I've never heard of one before in my life.

I heard yelling outside the room. It sounded like Green was arguing with someone, but who, I could not tell.

The door slammed open, but I kept my eyes shut.

"How did you know!? There has to be some reason you wanted her!" Green was still yelling, but whoever he was yelling at closed the door.

"Sorry if he woke you up." I opened my eyes to see Tyler sitting in a chair to my left. He had his right leg crossed on top of his lap. "Do you have any questions for me?" he asked.

"Yeah. Like, everything."

"Fire away."

"First, what is a life element?"

"You understand that the world is in an endless war, right?" I nodded. "Well, when the war was young, life elements were highly sought after. The fact that the war wasn't going to end was reason enough to heal all soldiers possible. Eventually all life elements were worked to death or lost all magical stamina. They became almost extinct except for the only two known life elements: The healer of Black and the healer of White. But now, you as well."

He stared me in the eyes, and I felt an aura coming from them. I winced trying to see anything special.

"Any more questions?" Tyler asked, interrupting my thoughts.

"Uh, let me think." Should I ask about his personality, or the events that took place recently? "Why are you so interested in me?" That wasn't one of the top questions I would ask, but did so anyway.

Tyler thought about it for a little bit. "I don't really know. I guess I just see something in you. My eyes have felt pretty weird lately." He closed his left eye, then got his hand and covered his right eye with it. "Like right now I can see you with my right eye but not my left. It's weird."

I tilted my head in confusion. It didn't make sense. Nothing he said made sense. "Well, why was Headmaster Green so angry with you?"

"Oh, well that..." He got up and started for the door. "That one's a bit complicated. I'll be sure to tell you later though." As he opened the door I wondered if I should say something before he left. He ended up leaving and closing the door before I could think of anything to say.

I scanned the room to see what I could find. There was a bookshelf directly in front of the bed, with various books labeled in golden writing. To my right there was a window leading to the outside covered by a white curtain. I was about two stories up. To my left I could see an I.V. that I now just realized was attached to my wrist. I looked around to see if I could find the time, but no luck.

The door opened and I saw Bianca and Josh walked in scanning the room for any threats. "Diana!" Bianca came up to my bed and hugged me. I wonder if they were allowed in or if they snuck in.

"How're you holdin' up?" Josh asked.

"Fine. Do you know what time it is?" I asked.

Bianca checked her blue watch. "It's about 3:30. You were locked in here for a couple of hours."

"Life element." I looked over to see Josh looking out the window as if he was reminiscing about something. He turned toward me. "You know how powerful that is, right?"

"Not really. I haven't heard of it until today."

"A life element has energy-based castings. Meaning you can literally disorganize someone's organs."

"That's true, but I hope you don't use your power in that way." Green closed the door behind him as he walked into the room. "Good afternoon ladies and gentleman. I am here to inform you of a little change in your housing."

"Are we kicked out?" Josh asked.

"No, just moving you to a different area." He handed a packet of papers to Josh. "I'll need all of you to sign these papers and bring them to me tomorrow morning. Ben signed all of his papers so you'll see his name in there."

"But, we didn't request a change," said Josh flipping through the packet. "Is there a mistake?"

"No, not really. I would rather not explain right now, but once you show up to your new home, I ensure you someone will fill you in on everything. For now, the three of you should head to your dorm rooms to pack. I personally excused you for the day so you could spend the rest of it packing. Now if you'll excuse me, I have tons of paperwork to do." He left and the three of us remained.

"So you guys wanna head out?" Josh asked. I nodded and started to get up. The headache was gone.

We walked out and started heading to our dorms. Bianca went to my dorm, while Josh headed toward his to pack.

"So I am going to help you pack, or are we going to just talk?" Bianca asked me.

"Probably just talk," I replied.

"My thoughts exactly."

When we arrived at my dorm, I noticed how much of a mess it was. I haven't washed the dishes for almost a week, there were pieces of paper littering the floor, and my dirty laundry was all over the place.

"Want to help me clean up first?" I asked.

"Sure."

As we cleaned, we both started talking about our day. She was glad she didn't have any other elements than water. If she did, then she would have to be a part of Josh's clan. She also mentioned how Tyler went last, and before he even touched the paper, it completely turned to ice. That reminds me...

"So, in the morning, before you came to my dorm, what happened when you ran into Tyler?" I asked.

"Oh. Uh, the lightning elementals attacked me, then Tyler defended me, then I went into Ben's dorm, then I went to your dorm."

"There's nothing else that happened?" I pushed.

"Not really..."

"Wait, you said that lightnings attacked you? Isn't your brother the boss of them?"

"Yeah..." I could tell she didn't know much more than I did.

"Well, whatever. Your brother will deal with them."

"Yeah..." Bianca checked her watch. "I should go. It's about 7."

"Alright, see you later." We hugged and she left. I looked back at my room. Thanks to Bianca, I was able to clean the room entirely. Now all I need to do is pack.

As I started putting clothes into my backpack, I saw my violin out of the corner of my eye.

Time to practice.
