*This story is highly inspired of the novel called Female General and Eldest Princess, so some of the scene might be the same since I like some of the scene. I really like the story that it gave me an idea to make a story inspired by Female General and Eldest Princess. I really wanted to recreate the story so that's why I made this story *

I'm Free

Is what Brielle happily thought when she left her house, running with her 12 years old identical twin brother as holding his hand. The two siblings laugh together as they run, the neighbors gave them a smile on their face as the two runs.

"Bri, where are we going?" Maven, her younger identical twin brother asks her as they switch from running to walking. Brielle look back at Maven, childishly smiling at him.

"To the old man! I heard that he has something sweet!" [Brielle]

Brielle began to drag Maven as they run towards the top of the hill where the old man lives.

-knock- -knock-

Brielle knocks on the door with Maven in her side, holding hands as they innocently smile with excitement on their eyes.

As the footsteps gets closer, the sound of unlocking the door was heard by the two causing them to brighten their eyes. As the door open, a man with glasses who looks like in their 50's, wearing a white coat open the door.

"Oh dear, I didn't know that I have a cute visitor" the old man kindly smile at them with a pleasant tone as chuckle to himself.

"Old man! We heard that you have a sweet in there!" the two spoke in unison as they beamed. The old man couldn't help but chuckle at the siblings, he steps aside to let them in.

The two obediently sit on the chairs as they swing their feet simultaneously, the old man went to his drawer and took out something. He walks towards the two and hand it to them.

"Here you go, be sure to drink water after eating" [Old man]

"Whooaa!"

The two took the candy at the old man's arm with stars on their eyes, Maven observe the candy from different angle as Brielle swiftly took out the paper wrap from the candy and directly put it in her mouth in delight.

"Old man! I want to look at your books!"

Brielle jump on her chair, swinging her arms to prevent herself from falling. She looks up at the old man.

The old man chuckle as he agrees to her, the three of them enter another room with books and medicines filled in the room. Maven walk towards the book as Brielle walk in the medicines, the old man took a book from the shelf and place it on the table.

Maven and Brielle walk towards the table and look at the book.

"You two can't read, can you?" [Old man]

"Nope!"

The two answer in unison, the old man opens the book and began to read the title to them and the contents. The content of the book is about flowers and plants that is ingredients use for medicines. Brielle listen to the old man as she tries to memorize the content of it, observing the plants and flowers in the book.

"Right, Brielle, I remember that you want to help me again, right?"

The old man asks as he fixes his glasses. When Brielle heard the old man's word, she looks up to see his face.

"Yup!" [Brielle]

After that, Brielle focus on the book. Maven look at the old man then ask, "Old man, do you still have the sweets?"

He innocently asks as he tug his sleeve.

The old man let out a small chuckle then smiled at him, he went towards the drawer and took two sweets for the both of them.

After 2 hours of staying in the old man's house, the two went back to their house. As they open the door, they saw their 'mother' and 'father' happily talking in the table as they cut vegetables.

"Mom! We're back!"

Maven shouted as he holds his older sister's hand, their 'mother' looks at them then smile. Their 'father' glance at them then a smile on his eyes appears.

"Welcome home sweetie, dinner is about to be done in about half an hour"

She smiles as she informed them, the two nodded as they went upstairs. They enter their room that is enough for two people to fit in, not too big but not too small.

"Bri are you going to the old man's house tomorrow?"

He asks as he sit on his bed, swaying his feet. Brielle move towards her bed and crouch under her bed to take something, she looks at him then answer. "Yeah, are you coming?" she took a book under her bed after she spoke then got up and lay down with her stomach on the bed as she places the book on her bed.

Seeing that Brielle lay down, Maven do the same where top of his body is laying down on the bed and the bottom is hanging at the end.

"I don't know, father might bring me to the farm to weeds the land" [Maven]

"Too bad but I'll give you sweets if old man gives me one, many children go to the old man's house so we might get nothing!" [Brielle]

The two chatted for a while, Maven fall asleep as Brielle read the book. Their 'mother' called them for dinner, Brielle shake her brothers shoulder causing Maven to wake up. Rubbing his eyes, Maven groan as he opens his eyes.

"Is it dinner now?"

He asks in soft voice, sitting u from his bed. Brielle smiles at him then nodded, she took his hand and walk out their room to go to their small dining room that is enough for 5 persons to eat together.

"Mom I'm going to old man's house tomorrow!"

Brielle took a big spoonful of mouth as she said it to her 'Mom', her 'mother' glance at her.

"Just be sure to go back before the sun go down" ['Mom']

"Okay!" [Brielle]

The family happily ate dinner together.

As the sun started to rise, Brielle woke up from her peaceful slumber. She got up from her bed, in her other side, Maven who was peacefully sleeping in his bed open his eyes as he rubs his eye.

Brielle stretches her body while yawning, she got down to meet her parents. There she saw her 'mother' preparing to make breakfast for the family.

"Good morning mom, where's dad?" [Brielle]

"Good morning honey, your dad is on the wheat farm, watering the wheat. Why honey?" ['Mom']

"It's nothing!"

Brielle said to her 'mother' as she took a bread on the table, she leaves the house running with a smile on her face. Her 'mother' could only sigh as she looks at her 'daughter's' action.

Brielle run on the streets early in the morning as she ate the bread on her hand. Catching her breath when she arrives at the old man's house, knocking on the door with a bright smile on her face.

"Ah, Brielle, you're here early"

The old man smiled as he opens the door for Brielle to enter.

"Old man! Tell me the ingredients!"

She beamed as she looks up to him, the old man laughs then walk towards the bookshelf to grab a book.

He opens it as he flips the pages to find the ingredients that he wanted, placing the book on the table, Brielle sat down to look at the book with drawings of plants and flower in it.

"Here's the plant that I needed for my medicine, be careful because it has a lot of plants that has the same appearance on them" [Old man]

"Then, how can I identify them to the others?" [Brielle]

"This plant has a little flower on the top of it, check the flower if there's a yellow dot in the middle of it and also check the leaves if there's a light green at the middle of it" [Old man]

"Got it old man!"

She said to him as she looks at the drawing more carefully, trying to memorize every details.

She stands up from her seat, running through the room to reach the door, she waves her hand to the old man as she leaves.

Brielle wave her hand to the people guarding the gate. She enters the forest; she walks not far away from the road and not close to the deeper part of the forest.

As she looks around to the ground, looking to find the plant. She notices a white flower with blue strings in the middle of it, she found the flower pretty as she walks closer to the flower.

'this was not here before; I wonder what this is? It seems familiar, I feel that this is dangerous'

She thought to herself as she asks a question on herself.

As she steps closer, she smells a nice fragrant coming from the flower. Staring at the flower, Brielle started to feel that her throat was slowly tightening as her breath started to became irregular.

'What's happening? My throat hurts, it's hard to breathe!'

'Mom, dad, help me. It hurts, it hurts so much'

Her tears started to flow out as her body throb, clenching her clothes. Her eyes are tightly closed as her eye brows pulled closer together, frowning.

Brielle started coughing as she places her hands on her throat while trying to steady her breath. She felt something flowing on her nose, wiping her nose with her hand, she saw blood on it.

'it's back? I thought it would still be back until the next month…'

She thought as she desperately wipes her nose but the blood still keeps flowing out of her nose like it will never stop.

Her chest also tighten as the time goes on; she keeps coughing until eventually her consciousness started to fade as her eyes felt heavy.

Brielle fell on the ground, trying to fight her consciousness as her breath became even more irregular. Within 20 seconds, Brielle lost conscious as her nose keeps bleeding and her eyes slowly drop tears.

'What's happening to me?'

Brielle thought one last time before she lost consciousness in the forest, gripping through her clothes with a pained expression on her face while her tears slowly flow at the side of her face.

Her tightly closed eyes started to relax as her mouth that was biting her lower lip let go and started to relax, her grip loosened on her shirt as soon as she lost her consciousness.

On someone's perspective, you can see Brielle sleeping peacefully if you ignore the blood on her nose. It's unfortunate that she's far away from the roads since she walks towards the white flower and nobody notice her.
