1 Geminar Online

"God, why do my coworkers keep putting shifts on me?" I asked myself in annoyance. Hi, I'm Kenshi Muyo. I'm 25 years old working for a packaging company as ground crew. The pay is good and it lets me use one of my more favorable attributes which is my strength. Anyways, in my free time I work on an MMORPG called "Geminar Online" and so far it's been getting an increasing player base by the second. I work day and night as an Admin until I get Admin Requests via email,

"No one yet?" I said as I check my phone. Oh yeah, I use a phone to check my email when work is slow which isn't very often regrettably. I flipped my phone close and got back to work, recently in the game I added bosses I call "Geminar Knights". These "Knight's" are a remnant of an old city state called "Geminar" hence the name, I also added Demons in the game. You can't have a good MMORPG without them right? These Demons are a tiny bit different than the goat feet and pitchforks type of demons we have here, they more resemble humans than actual demons we have come to know and hate. There's also Vampires, Demi-humans, Humans, Gods, Devils, and Administration staff which is me. The reason I included myself in there is because a freak coding malfunction happened when lightning struck my house and surged the power which somehow ruined some of the code and my computer. I bought a new one for like Fifty Three plus thousand yen or like Five Hundred dollars in American currency. It served it's purpose really well for the limited time I actually got to use it before something bizarre happened, I'll touch more on that later. Anyways, I got the computer for a pretty good price but it came with a warning which didn't really freak me out but it probably should've.

"Young man listen close, this must never be used at midnight under any circumstances got it?" the old man asked.

"Yeah I got it pops, thank you" I said disregarding the Warning. I've never been a stickler for urban legends or myths but my gut told me to listen to the warning, so I did and honestly it worked way too well for a Five Hundred dollar computer. I was working on adding special event gear for the winter event in Japan,

"adding the Candy Cane axe, Tree sword, and the ornament grenade" I muttered to myself while I was finishing the coding on the animations. I was about to press enter when I looked at the time,

"It's already Eleven Fifty Nine?!" I yelled. I had my hand on the screen and began to snap it shut when the midnight bell sounded, nothing happened as I shut the computer but my gut was telling me that things were about to change. I was about to stand up when a blinding flash of light hit me,

"Ow, what was that?" I said as the light nearly blinded me. I shook with fear as I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end,

"Young one, what did I tell you?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I looked around to see the old man sitting on my bed, I elected to remain calm as possible as to not provoke him.

"Don't use it at midnight, and I tried not to but I realized it was Eleven Fifty Nine and got stuck shutting it right as Midnight struck" I said while shrugging. The old man bellowed with laughter,

"Hahahaha, kid I like that. You can accept punishment and a curse like it's no big deal" he said with a smile. I looked at him confused more than scared now,

"Curse? Punishment? what are you talking about?" I asked.

"The reason I said curse, is because this is a cursed object it's called the "Midnight Casque" originally it was a helmet but it changed over time to fit into current styles so it can curse more people" he said.

"Oh, now I get it cursed objects will change form to be more efficient at cursing" I said understandingly.

"Bingo, you're pretty smart kid" he said with astonishment.

"So, what happens to me now?" I asked.

"I don't know, what were you thinking about when Midnight struck?"

"My game called Geminar Online and the warning you said" I replied. The old man crossed his arms and appeared to be in deep thought as he tried to come up with a solution. Finally he snapped his fingers,

"It's most likely gonna teleport you into Geminar after shutting down the game to players" he said.

"Hold the phone there pal, the only one who has access to the Admin console is me" I said. The old man smiled and made a phone appear and held it,

"That computer has more power over the game than you" he said with the biggest grin I've seen.

"Okay listen here smartass, put down the phone" I said annoyed. The man made the phone disappear like a crappy part trick,

"Fine, but I'd try to remember everything you know about the game if it teleports you in" he said.

"So uh, I never got your name?" I asked.

"It's Odin" he said with a chuckle.

"King of the gods and of knowledge?" I asked. Odin nodded his head,

"So does that mean other Mythos are real?" I asked. Odin stopped nodding and let out a sigh of sadness,

"Almost every mythos, some have gone to ruin and some no one even knows about" he said.

"Oh, I'm sorry I just needed to know" I said apologetically. Odin reverted back to his original god like form,

"Nice beard" I said while admiring his flowing beard. Odin stood up and held out his hand,

"Come with me real quick" he said as he grabbed my wrist. Odin walked out of my apartment and held my wrist as we flew through the sky. Odin stopped at several Thousand feet off the ground,

"Japan's deities have shrines and are doing the best out of all the mythos" he said as he pointed to a local shrine. I nodded in agreement and we floated back on down to earth,

"When will the curse take affect?" I asked.

"It's about to in Three seconds" he said, "I just wanted your last moments here to be of the mythos you descend from". I felt something pull on my shirt and I blacked out. I awoke in a forest surrounded by snow and falling leaves,

"Guess it really did teleport me in the game" I said while still lying in the snow. I watched fresh snow fall on my face as I tried to figure where I was by forest pattern and size,

"North on the continent?" I asked myself, "Or the West?". I sat up and brushed the snow off my legs,

"Too bad I don't have adminstration access-"

"Access granted" I heard a female robotic voice speak. I looked down at the Admin console,

"I was right! I'm at the northern part of the continent" I said with glee. I stood up and stretched,

"Admin, Show me my stats" I asked.

Strength: A+

Speed: F-

Agility: F-

Intelligence: S+

Reaction Time: .0031 seconds

Abilities: N/A

Lv: 1

I looked at my stats for a short while,

"I expected as much for intelligence" I said as I closed the Admin console. I walked around the forest until I found a trail,

"Admin, where does this trail lead?" I asked.

"It leads down to Guran, Sir" the voice spoke. I turned and followed the trail through the forest. While I was walking, I couldn't shake the feeling of being followed/watched so I decided to ignore it. I shut down the admin console and stretched, I heard a branch snap and someone scream. I instantly turned around to see a small white haired girl with shining yellow eyes run from behind a tree being chased by a bear the size of a Kodiak back on Earth. I saw the girl coming towards me with the bear so I grabbed the girl and booked it down the trail as fast as I could go. I saw a small town just up ahead and picked up my pace to reach the town before the bear got to us,

"Move!" I yelled as I ran into town and tripped. As I fell face first, I kept the girl above my head as I slid like a bullet for Twelve feet or like Four meters. I tossed the girl behind me as I stood up as quick as I could to face the bear that now came through front entrance,

"On guard men!" I heard a rough voice yell. Suddenly Four men dressed in armor were infront of me with swords drawn,

"We got this man, just relax" the lead soldier said as he looked back at me. At first I had my doubts, mainly because I know what Kodiak's can do in real life and it's terrifying how strong they are. I heard all the man yell as they charged the bear, the Soldier that spoke to me slid underneath the bear and plunged his sword into the Bears stomach.

"Pull your sword out!" I yelled. The Soldier pulled the sword out and shot away from the bear just in time to miss one of it's paw swiping at him.

"Follow it's Front legs up and stab as hard as you can!" I yelled from the sidelines. They all followed my command and plunged the swords where I said. I saw the life drain from the bears eyes when the stabbed the vital spot on a bear,

"Thank you Andrew" I mumbled to myself. I learned where the bears vital spot was from an American friend named Andrew Bridges, it's a weird name but I like it. The Soldiers pulled away from the bear and watched it collapse,

"Yeah!" I heard all the towns people yell in excitement. The Soldier I talked with looked at me and walked over,

"How did you know?" he asked as he crouched infront of me.

"I have a friend who hunts bears, he told me about one time" I said. The Soldier extended his hand to help me up,

"C'mon, we could use you in the Guild" he said. Guran was a town meant to house a guild that I never finished and as a result of not being finished it had no walls on the outside so I implemented a squad of high level Soldier to defend the town. I grabbed his hand and stood up,

"I'll take you up on that request" I said. I looked back at the girl who came with me into town,

"I don't know why the bear was chasing her, but somehow it followed her and me all the way here and now we're here" I said. I walked over to the girl and crouched,

"What's your name?" I asked. The girl looked at my hand terrified, she spoke in a language I recognized.

"I'm Astra Rook" she said in demon speak.

"I'm Kenshi Muyo" I said in reply with demon speak. Astra looked like she was a kid on Christmas,

"Someone can speak my language!" she yelled excited.

"Admin, Translate NPC's of Guran to understand Demon speak please" I said.

"Right away, Sir" The voice spoke. Everyone held their heads in pain for a short second before everyone could hear Astra speaking in demon,

"Hi!" she said to the soldier. The Soldier took a step back and looked at me,

"You're an Admin aren't you?" he said wide eyed.

"Yeah, why?" I asked.

"I thought there was only one!" he said.

"I am the only one" I said.

"Then quickly, you need to talk with the guild master" he said as he grabbed my arm and dragged me to a large building in the center of town.

"I don't remember putting that there" I said to myself. How did I get dragged into this mess?
