11 Chapter 10

Hannah's POV

"Who's your mom?" I asked. I was more confused than she was at this point. I didn't even know who she was.

"Is Carla your mom?" Paige asked.

She nodded.

I looked at Carter who now shared the same dumbfounded expression.

"Okay honey, lets get you to the cabin," Paige said as she pulled the girl out of my arms and into her own.

The blonde girl gasped for air and then started coughing. "Cleo," Kathy recognized her quietly. I remember Carla telling me about Cleo.

"Carla, she's a lion?" Cleo rambled, "But, how? She saved me. Then the blue swirly thing, and she jumped and he caught her, and then the black haired guy."

"Lets get you home and we'll talk everything out." Kathy explained.

"And Paige, you trust her after everything?" Cleo asked angrily.

"We'll explain everything soon," Carter added.

I stood and walked back to the car. Sarah, Sage, and Axel seemed really worried. I know that Sage and Axel really adored Carla and looked up to her. Sarah doesn't really like anyone. I got to the car and leaned against it.

"Eclipse," Carter called out. He was looking for him.

I looked over at him. Carter looked defeated as he approached the car.

"There's not enough room for everyone in this Car so I need you to ride with Axel, Sarah, Sage, and Paige," He explained.

"Okie dokie," I responded with a smile.

I got into the other car and greeted everyone with hellos.

I got hellos for responses which made me smile. I was honestly sad. I already missed Carla, she's strong though, we'll find a way to help her. Sage sat next to me and Paige sat on the other side while Sarah drove and Axel sat in the passenger seat.

"Funny how all the 'cool' teens get their own car," Sarah complained with a twinge of anger behind her voice.

"It's like they don't like us, and they only tolerate us," Paige added.

"It's not like that guys, we just have a lot of people," I shyly stood up for my friends. The rest of the car ride was silent, I guess they had just then realized that I was in the car.

We walked into the cabin and sat at the table. I sat on the counter since there wasn't enough chairs.

"So what's your name?" I asked the reddish brown haired girl.

"You don't know me?" She confusedly asked.

I shook my head.

"I thought you guys looked younger," She responded as she shook her head. A few seconds later she looked over at Carter, "Can he leave."

"Why?" Carter asked, "What have I ever done to you?"

She looked at the floor and then back at me, "My name is Charlotte."

"Okay Charlotte, who is your mom?" Liam asked.

"Carla," Charlotte answered, "Was."

My face tightened. Carla dies. That's what she's saying, she's saying Carla dies. I wanted to cry just because of that, Carla was always so kind to me. She was like a sister to me.

"What happened?" I asked, "If you don't mind me asking."

"Carter was arguing with her about something, then they disappeared," She started to cry, "I was right there."

Everyone looked at Carter who was whelling in tears. Carter would never hurt Carla, everyone knew that. However when we heard that they went missing, not only did we believe Charlotte but so did he. Carter's facial expression broke my heart more than anything else.

"I would never hurt Carla- your mom," He assured her while choking back tears from falling. Everyone was holding back tears. Everyone knew that Carter is the only thing on the planet that could ever kill Carla, him and her own heart.

"You did," Charlotte almost screamed, "You took her somewhere with your powers and killed her, I haven't seen either of you in years."

"How old are you?" Paige concerningly and calmly asked. She was trying to keep Charlotte calm.

"I'm twenty," she answered, "He killed my mom when I was seventeen and I had to be leader. You guys have heard this story before."

"Charlotte, you haven't been born yet," Kathy explained, "Carla is seventeen."

"Where is she then?" Charlotte said with a strained and upset tone.

"Whoever brought you here took her," Liam explained.

"Can you tell us who the really skinny guy is? He's been attacking us, he might have something to do with your mom's disappearances," Paige asked.

"Probably Henry," She answered as she rolled her eyes. Her face got really serious, "Who are you?"

"Paige, My name is Paige. Am I not in your future?" Paige asked.

"Don't answer that, we don't need to ruin the timeline," Madelyn interjected.

"You died just before I was born, Carla raises your son," Charlotte explained.

"I literally just told you not to say that," Madelyn scoffed angrily as she spoke to Charlotte. Charlotte seemed more open about everything than her mom usually is. Carla never tells anyone what's going on unless she has definite proof of it, or it's become a problem.

Carter stood up and walked towards the back door. He put his forehead on the glass and breathed deeply. Everyone else was talking to Charlotte but I was trying to figure out what Carter was thinking.

"Okay," Carter growled. He walked to the table and gripped the table edge until his knuckles turned white.

Charlotte sunk into her chair, she was truly terrified of Carter.

"She's obviously from the future okay," Carter explained, "Madelyn do the math, how fast would I have to run to run through time."

"Its not poss-" Madelyn started.

"Theoretically, how fast?" Carter interrupted, "We have to save Carla and Eclipse and get Charlotte back to her time."

"Theoretically you'd have to run faster than light in a vaccum," Madelyn shakily answered.

"How fast is that?" Carter insisted.

"Light travels at 186,282 miles per second," Madelyn answered, "So 670,615,200 miles an hour."

"What's my fastest run?" Carter demanded.

"Carter it's like running from here to the sun a faster than eight minutes," Madelyn argued, "You'd have to run seven times faster than you ever had."

"I'll do it, make a vacuum and I'll do it," Carter insisted.

Madelyn slammed her hands on the table, "No you can't, its physically not possible, you will rip yourself apart. Plus we don't have Carla to build us a vacuum."

Carter slammed his hands on the table in retaliation and then turned and punched the countertop.

"Calm down buddy," Liam attempted to calm him down, "We'll think of something."

"Carter how would you save her yourself anyway?" Kathy asked.

Carter looked up from the countertop and darted his attention directly to Liam, "Help me build a vacuum."

Liam stood up and walked towards Carter, "Bud, I can't I don't have Carla's powers."

"You have to help," Carter angrily yelled, "She's our friend, you have to help."

Charlotte got up and stood between the two of them. One hand was placed of either guy's chest. She didn't want a rumble to go down between the two of them.

I saw Carter push slightly on Charlotte's hand. She angrily ordered, "Chill." and Carter fell to the ground.
