2 Prologue 1: Nameless

A bright splendid city shines in the far distance. Surrounded by a circular wall, and protected by a massive white being, that hovers above. Watching and waiting the Traveler sits there, perched above the beautiful city. The fact that its beauty can still be seen from such a distance, where it is nothing more than a small cluster of buildings is quite amazing. The spectacular sight of this city and it's benevolent protector are symbols to those outside of it's warmth. Symbols of hope, happiness, and safety are what many find in them. Although others find only betrayal, anger and jealousy in them. Where as there are those who find neither hatred, nor comfort in they're presence. They simply live on each day, with one goal, one dream. To survive, to live to see the morning is their only wish. One such group of survivors is working hard every day to do just that. It is a small group of alien creatures, bipedal with multiple arms, reptilian features. They are called the fallen by the people of the city, but their true names are the Eliksni. Once a strong, powerful race of creatures, who were blessed by the Traveler a long time ago. They're planet was abandoned by the Traveler, and destroyed by the Darkness. A force so powerful it made the Traveler flee, and destroyed countless worlds. The Eliksni came to earth, following their beloved Traveler or The Great Machine. Some came for revenge, wanting to kill the Traveler. for abandoning them to destruction. Some came in hopes of joining the Traveler once more. Whatever their reason the Eliksni were homeless, and disorganized. After many, many years of fighting, scavenging, and killing the Eliksni have become one of the cities biggest enemies. Thus many Eliksni have made earth their new home. As many try to continue the battle, one group of Eliksni has had enough of the fighting and killing. They wander the land in search of shelter, food, and ether*. They are led by an Eliksni captain named Griskryn , he is covered in many battle scars and is missing one arm and his left eyes. We see him sitting in a small tent surrounded by pieces of tech scattered throughout. He sits alone at a small table, with a small clunky holographic projector. As pushes a few buttons, Eliksni symbols and what looks like manuscripts pop up and he begins reading and filling them out. He scans the Eliksni words and gets only half way through when he slams his fists down on the table. Right then a smaller Eliksni about half his height walks in with his handheld arc caster ready. "Griskryn Kell**, are you allright?!" The small Eliksni scans the room looking for threats.

"I am doing fine Brekis, I was only looking at the inventory logs. There is no need for worry, and what have I said about calling me Kell? I am no Kell Brekis only a captain." Brekis nods in understanding and holsters his side arm. As he turns to leave Tarren stops him with a question. "Brekis, do you know where my son is?"

"No sir, last I heard his scouting party was due to return any minute now."

"I see, well I am heading to petris' tent. Notify me the second he returns. Understood?"

"yes my ke- err I mean Griskryn sir"

Griskryn quickly grabs the hologram and heads out his tent, leaving Brekis to tend to his duties. As Griskryn walked through his small rustic village, he passes by a small section of floor with a tent above. Inside the makeshift building is five Eliksni who have all been wounded. A small servitor*** sits providing a small ether* supply to the Eliksni. Though their efforts are in vain as one of the Eliksni has stopped moving and stares lifelessly into the distance. A small dreg* appears and blankets the Eliksni with a ragged cloth. As Griskryn watches the saddening scene, clenching his fist he continues onward to the tent of Petris the resident engineer. As Griskryn approaches the tent he can hear metal smashing together. Petris' tent stands out much more than all the others, even more than Griskryn's. You can see multiple metal and scrap covered constructs, decorating the outside of the tent, almost as if protruding from it. Upon entering the massive tent Griskryn is greeted with mountains of scrap contraptions and metal components, some with very clear purposes and most with none at all. Griskryn walks through the mountains of scrap along a small parted path clear of obstruction, approaching a small figure at a rusted metal table. "Petris" He calls to her but she seems to be consumed in her work. "Petris....Petris!" The small figure stops working turning towards Griskryn, appearing annoyed she pulls a pair of goggles over her eyes and onto her forehead. "what is it? Can't you see I'm busy Griskryn?"

"I see that. What's the status of the converter?"

"As I have stated before it's status is still broken. I don't have the necessary parts to repair it."

"We need this converter up and running Petris, so tell me what you need so we can get it."

"That won't work, serverter parts are extremely difficult to find, and the part I need isnt easily found in any old serverter."

"People are dying Petris! I can't just sit here, waiting for one of the higher houses to come down to this planet just so we can grab some random serverter!"

"I know that! You don't think I know? Do you think I spend my time with these parts because they are my family?"

With this statement silence engulfed the room. Petris' family died due to a lack of ether*. She became the youngest Eliksni engineer to try and find a way to save her family. Now she works to save her people. After a moment of silence Griskryn motions to the weapon sitting next to her. "Is it finished?" Petris looks at the gun, grabbing it with all her hands and handing it to Griskryn. "Yeah, it's finished. I still don't understand why you chose a weapon from the city. It took a lot of work but I've been able to make the arc accelerators fit into the barrel. Now it should punch through even a cabal shield" Griskryn holds the sniper up, looking down the sights. It was an old pre collapse sniper that had miraculously survived in the wreckage of an old building. When Griskryn found it during a scavenging expedition he took it home. After returning he gave it to petris asking her to fix it for him. "What about the ammunition?" he says as he pulls back the bolt. "I've converted it's receiver to handle the same bullets the Gaurdians use. Though we don't have much on hand from scavenging."

"How much?" "Six shots. It can hold 3, so that's 2 magazines."

"Well how about we test run thi--"

Just then Brekis enters the tent with a worried expression.

"My *kell- ..I mean capt-.. Griskryn!"

"What is it Brekis?"

"Your son.. he's returned."

"Well that's is good news, I must see him."

Griskryn walks to the exit, but Brekis stops him.

"Sir.. he has a ghost with him"

" what!?"

END PROLOGUE PART 1

**Kell: A Kell is essentially the leader or boss of an Eliksni house.

***Serverter: Serverters are machines used to refine and provide ether to the Eliksni. They were created in the image of the Traveler and thus are floating spherical autonomous machines. They resemble purple floating eyes and vary in size.
