21 Chapter 21 - A Boy's Despair

"Special Force. Report. I say again, Special forces report!" A crackling voice rang through the communication device strapped to the leader's breast pocket. "Special Force. Report immediately. I say again, Special Forces report immediately."

However, within the classroom, the unresponsive corpses laid on the ground, oozing out giant puddles of thick crimson blood everywhere, turning the once grey carpeted ground into a dark red disgusting mess.

A small head slowly peeked into the classroom as a terrified child held his hands above his mouth, his eyes raining down tears and the urge to puke quickly took over, causing him to vomit all over the hallway floor.

"Jacob!" A desperate hushed voice called for the boy as the principal's figure appeared down the end of the hallway with a horrified look. "Jacob! Jacob, come back here!" He had his arms held before him, hurriedly wrapping the poor boy within his arms.

"Don't run off so suddenly!" The principal scolded, fearing the soldiers inside would hear the commotion thus slightly peeked his own head to see what was happening inside.

"AHHH-!" He let out a horrified scream, falling back onto his butt, "Oh my god!" He exclaimed, seeing the beheaded bodies scattered within the classroom with no sight of Marcus.

"Can you hear me? Special Forces. Report immediately." Another desperate crackling voice could be heard from the communication device as the Principal slowly walked forward, trying his best to avoid stepping on the blood and the bodies.

"Stay there." He ordered Jacob who was already paralyzed with fear.

"Hello?" He cautiously took the device, locating the talk button. "Who is this?"

A short silence ensued before a weary voice replied from the other end. "This is the Special Force Commander. Identify yourself."

"I-I am the Principal of Ledernsire Elementary School. Elliot Felinni." The principal replied,

"Where are the Special Forces? How have you gained possession of this device? Immediately hand this device back to the Special Force unit!" The commander, Bruce Elori ordered, expecting the principal to hand over the communicator to the leader.

"U-um…" The principal didn't know how to reply as he hesitantly looked around him, the scent of the blood penetrating his nose. "They're all dead…"

"WHAT?" A baffled response exploded from the other end, "Are you sure?"

"Yes sir, they're all laying here… with no head…." The principal began gagging as he tried his best to describe the scene around him. "There blood…everywhere…"

"What about Marcus Elori. Is he still there?"

The principal looked around the room before shaking his head, "No, None of these look like Mr. Elori's body, sir."

A grunt of frustration could be heard from the other end, "Alright. I'll send some officers over. Please remain in caution as they arrive. If you have any sightings of Marcus Elori during this time, do not approach or engage in conversation with the individual. Immediately report to us and we will provide you with further instructions. Is that understood?" Bruce ordered, a frantic tapping of a keyboard echoing from the device.

"Okay, but if you don't mind, may I ask a question first?"

The tapping stopped. "What do you wish to know?" His deep voice rang out.

"How is our employee Marcus Elori involved in all this?" The principal asked, finally able to gain a clue on the situation. The reason their classroom was filled with corpses, the truth hidden from ignorant civilians like himself.

A deep breath could be heard taken by Bruce, "We suspect him to be the mastermind behind all the gate activity and the death of the soldiers around you." Bruce responded, leaving a gust of cold air to sweep past the Principal and a soft thud sounded out behind him.

"Jacob?" The Principal turned around to see a shocked Jacob collapsed on his knees, his hands held around his head.

"No. No. No. No." The boy muttered, grasping at his temple whilst his eyes stared upon the ground with disbelief. "Mr. Elori would never do this. He would never betray me like this. No. That's not true!" He began shouting, "Mr. Elori was kind! He would never kill mommy! Mr. Elori would never!" Tears began dripping down the eyes of the small boy as his voice cracked, this head still shaking whilst his face slowly became red and snot ran down his nose.

"Jacob. It's okay. Jacob, calm down. It's alright!" The principal tried to comfort the kid, hugging him close and patting his back to no avail.

With no other choice but to let Jacob cry it out, the principal calmly picked him up, carrying him with both hands as he made his way down the hallway and out the front gate where dozens of students and parents all instantly begun swarming them with questions and queries.

"Please. Everyone, I'll explain everything later. Please take all your children home and I'll discuss with all parents and teachers tomorrow. I apologize for all the inconvenience and hope you all understand." The principal bowed to the surprise of all parents and teachers alike.

Very quickly, the crowd slowly began dispersing as parents began walking their children out of the school.

The rain had finally begun to disperse and the first ray of light shone through the gaps of the thick blanket of clouds.

——

"Sister." A light-hearted voice rang through the giant acoustic throne room. The tall figure of the white-haired man could be seen walking slowly towards the giant throne, bowing his head to the glamorous black and red throne displayed in its full glory at the far end of the room before turning around to see his sister sitting within the rows of the wooden benches of the throne room, sitting beside their new king who lied beside her unconscious.

"Quiet. Let him sleep." His sister placed a finger on her lips as she glanced over at Marcus, his eyes shut tight as he could finally sleep peacefully for the first time in a long time.

"Is he the one?" The brother walked over, glancing down at Marcus with an eye of interest.

"Yes." She smiled, softly wiping a strand of hair away from Marcus' sleeping face. "After 2500 years, he has finally arrived back to us."
