2 Chapter 1: The beginning

{August, 20XX}

The year wasn't so great..... Almost as if God decided to yet again make everyone suffer. Not from a virus but a diplomatic fiction of China and the rest of the world.

This year we've got increased terrorist activity in the Middle East, a lovely civil conflict in Burma. But best of all, Russian and Chinese relations had completely disintegrated following several border clashes in Siberia.

The worst thing is that happened is after the brutal suppression by the Chinese military, the Hong Kong protest has been rapidly and brutally putting down. Many experts have estimated the death toll to be roughly the same amount as from the Tiananmen Square massacre. Of course, Media censorship was implemented immediately on a large scale after the conflicts, but it wasn't enough to hide from international news.

But with the protest dealt with, the Chinese military presence in the South China Sea and the Neighbouring borders around India, Russia, Japan, Vietnam and various other nation has dramatically increase including their overall aggressiveness. Consequently, China had put many Countries on high alert.

As time passed on, vice-president Dirrel was allected to be the new president of America. Dirrel is an opportunist and he was thought to be the right man to handle the growing Chinese Aggression. Six months after his election, he and the Japanese executed 'Operation Round Table, (RT)' in the response to China growing aggression in the Asian continent. Originally a contingency plan by the previous president, Round Table was basically a massive military exercise that was to be held in and around different parts of Asia and would ultimately involve a massive amount of foreign troops on Japanese soil as well as others places.

Officially, the main purpose of the operation was to "Enhance international relationship." Or at least that was the official reason given by the United State President. But unofficially, it was a show of force, It was to let Beijing know that force would be met by force. And to let China see how many enemies they're going to face if their aggression is not dealt with.

Boldly, President Dirrel even went so far as to invite Russia to the joint military exercise, who were also having problems with the Chinese lately and in the matter of fact, the Japanese also wanted to establish a friendlier relationship between the Russians as the tension in the pacific is becoming more and more intense. Many people thought it was impossible but surprisingly Russia agrees, causing the media to explode in the process.

To be fair, It was a genius move Dirrel had pulled, as now with two superpowers working together, this would let China know that they're all alone in the fight. But more Impressively, Japan had also invited some country from beyond the rift in the Isle of Man. But, unfortunately, only one country called Webïrú had accepted the invitation.

But China does seem to care. Especially with that cocky President Dong Dechou in charge, China will think they're invincible.

And that's what Captain Mitchell Brooks had predicted as he was in the empty briefing room, staring at the monitor viewing multiple news channels all around the world. From what he could see, Operation Round table wants everyone was tanling about, but fortunately everything looks fine, the world was in peace and nothing major is happening to get his team involved.

The captain sat back, arms stretching, and crossed his legs as he continues to view the screen. Today is a special day, It was the mark of the second year since the London rift incident. It two years since reality meets fantasy. Two years since fantasy monsters roam in London.

The Special Operation Unit, Squadron F, AKA Firefly- a special mission unit, assembled by the United Kingdom Special Forces, the team considered multiple members of the Marines who has been handed picked by Mitchell due to their unique skills that he or one of the UKSF officer pointed out during their career. Despite been active for a short while, Firefly had already proved to be pretty successful, from taking on terrorist threats, hunting down international criminals, stopping a rouge Mercenaries, and rescuing hostages. But it wasn't till they encountered the London rift incident where it put them to the test. The entire team was a trap in a fantasy world, like the ones in story and games. It took them a whole year to returned to this world, and amazingly nobody was lost.

Brook's second-in-command was Lieutenant James Howard- a good old friend from his old squadron and one of the first to join this detachment- Enters the room. As usual and expected, Howard was the first person the walked into the room.

"Afternoon sir" he greeted with a salute.

"Afternoon Howard," Mitchell replied, still looking at the global feed. But immediately Mitchell knew why his second in command is here. "So what the situation now?

James smiles as expected of the Captain to know he then placed down a file that has a red label that reads 'CLASSIFIED' on the front. He placed it on the table next to him. "ASTAS Rift tracking Satellite has picked up a Huge spike of Rift activity, sir."

Mitchell sigh knowing anything relating to ASTAS, (or Anti-Supernatural, Termination, And Security), could not be good, "Just when I gave the team a week off." Mitchell mutters and when up to the table to open the file where the Lieutenant had left, revealing much information that was very confidential to an average person. but as he turns to the next page of the file his eyes would be filled with shock but at the same time with many interests.

Before the captain could say a word the Lieutenant spoken first. "The spike was located in the centre of Tokyo, Japan. Some in that scale could be extremely problematic. And I have to mention the large military exercises which about to commence all over Asia. Not even ASTAS has the capacity to cover up something this big."

Mitchell also took another deep sigh, showing his increasing irritation. "And it all thanks to bloody China... Great."

"Major Blyth has already sent Scientific advisors and a few divisions of Tactical Responses team into Japan."

"Is there anything that we should be worried about?"

"Knowing ASTAS, I believe we have a fifty-fifty chance, sir. But if it comes to it, four of our operators are already in Japan."

The Captian gave his second-in-command an intrigued look. "Who?"

"The Twins, Thapa, and Macmillian..."

It was early in the morning in Falmart as two people walked up to one of the holiest sites in the empire, Alnus hill. This location is famous as many people believe that all life started here.

"I'm ready...." the mysterious female said smiling at her partner who was beside her.

her partner smiled back and gave a mad look in his eyes, "This is where many lives will be lost.... And many Souls will be harvest." he laughs psychopathically.

"So is it true? Will these people you say they are will help us with our desire?"

"It depends on how they'll respond to the situation." he smiled menacingly.

the Female raised one of her eyebrows in suspicion but decide to go with it anyways. She concentrated all of her power into one specific place causing her bright blue hair to float. Then a massive beam of light shots into the sky, after the beam stopped shooting into the endless sky the woman fell unconscious. but her partner was there to catch her just in time and carried her in a bridal style.

"You did well Harley... Now rest." he then looks at that building that is materialising in front of him. "When the empire finds out about the gate, they will try to expand their empire. But when that time comes the other world will soon Cry for War." he walked down the hill then extended his dark wings and flew away with his partner in his hand.
