13 Dead heart

In the continent of democratic Azia, in the southern land. A man in a tribal suit with brown skin and a tall and muscle pack body was surrounded by people wearing the same clothes.

"Everything went bad, but believe in me! I will take care of those zombies."

Said the Tall man with pride and confidence. However, everyone around had different concerns.

"But sir, most of our clansmen are not immunized. Especially the ladies. They are not safe, and we might get attacked by them."

Said an old woman to the left of the tall tribesman.

"Sire, I would like to accept death. I won't let me and my tribe take part in this cruel survival game. Our life is not a game."

Hearing them, the tall man only cleared his throat.

"Say your prayers about the incoming apocalypse or whatever is that. In this life, I will not throw or kill any of my tribesmen! They are family and whatever they become! I will not abandon them! We don't need governments!"

An awkward silence happened to all of them. A few minutes passed, and the tall man couldn't take it and be very helpless to what was happening to everyone.

"Go... Leave... Attend to your families."

He said that made all the people in there scared of what was going to happen.

Soon, all the tribesmen left and the tall man and the old man shaman were left.

"You need to leave now, shaman. It would be painful for you."

Said the tall man, but the shaman only shook his head at him.

"I cannot. I don't want to see our tribe people killing each other. I would rather die here."

The tall man nodded with a sigh.

"This is out of our league. If only we didn't stop praying to our God, most of us would've been blessed or given a spirit to protect against this thing..."

The shaman slams the staff he is holding to stop the tall man from saying any further.

"We abandoned our God to get help from the government to heal our young ones. I never regretted my decision, and I wish you well."

The tall man nodded. Soon, he faced the shaman and took out his machete on his hips.

"Shaman, I want you to be the one who would end my life."

Then he gave the machete to the shaman who was in disbelief. However, it changed in an instant as he understood what the tall man was implying.

'I'm sorry.'

Looking at the shaman that was about to stab him.

'I failed as the leader of the clan. If I survive this apocalypse and most of my tribesmen, the child, women, and the elderly, my conscience would kill me. This is the only way I'm a failure as a leader. I hope some of them will make it and continue our culture.'

He said as he closed his with a peaceful expression. Seeing this, the shaman hurriedly slices...

Whisk!

The head of the tall man with glistening tears in the shaman's eyes. After a few moments, the old man holds the machete, facing him as he is ready to die.

"I regretted nothing in this life. I am happy that you all became a part of it."

The shaman looked at the sky with a gaze of mercy.

"I hope my God, you all forgive my tribe. I offer myself as a sacrifice,"

*Flap!* *Flap!*

The shaman stopped because he felt like a gust of wind in his face. He saw a bat creature in front of him with a body of a giant eyeball.

"What are you? I can feel a demon spawn."

"Eat... *Chi* *Chi* me... *Chi* *Chi* Eat... *Chi* *Chi* me... I will grant *Chi Chi* you power... *Chi Chi* to save them all... *Chi!* *Chi!*

The shaman was a little tempted by the demon. He knew how demon's work, and he can feel the energy of something salty for a pure shaman like him.

"Eat... *Chi* *Chi* me... *Chi* *Chi* Eat... *Chi* *Chi* me... I will grant *Chi Chi* you power... *Chi Chi* to save them all... *Chi!* *Chi!*"

The shaman was about to grab it when he remembered and turned his attention to the deceased tribal leader.

"Ha! What am I thinking!? Why am I being tempted by the demons!? Upon my death, I will not use the powers of demons! Upon my death, I will never be tempted again!"

With all his might, the shaman sliced the flying bat creature with anger! The creature disappeared like a cloud of smoke and after feeling that there was no more demonic smell; the shaman pierces his own heart.

"I will accept no demonic offers! Or I will shame my tribe. That is my pride! I am the shaman!"

Soon, after saying his last rite, his heartbeat stopped.

...

"Game off!"

Soon everything in the surrounding Crocus changed. Looking at his mouth on the ground with some dirt in it. He couldn't help but puke!

[ 4 minutes and 26 seconds left.]

Seeing this, Crocus stood up, shook the dirt and clean his clothes and look at the system screen in front of him.

"I forgot to ask if I can feel and see the seven demon sins in my game system. Now, how do I copy their ability? Should I chant their names? And I only know the three sin demon powers. I should also be careful about using them."

All of the sudden, Crocus froze as blood was bursting from his eyes, nose, and ears. He tried to hold his chest to his heart.

"What is this pain!? I feel like I died!? What's going on!?"

Soon, the death of the Bat that is holding the demonic eye of Pride Sin Demon registered in his mind. He dropped to the ground again while rolling in pain.

"It failed! Ugh!! Arrrgghhh! I didn't expect that it would hurt! Aarrgghh!!!"

A second... 1 minute... 2 minutes... 3 minutes... 4 minutes... 5 minutes...

Crocus woke up once again.

[ 3 minutes and 12 seconds left.]

He is feeling refreshed but when he tried to get up, his arms trembled due to fatigue. Still, he got up successfully. He looked at his hand with a little enlightenment about what had happened earlier.

"So after the demon Pride dies of the hand he wanted to use as a host, it would kill me."

Crocus remembered all systems.

"All systems... Status!"

"Seeing the two over seven, it only means that two demons in their eyes possessed two random people. While the other three couldn't find a host and Pride demon failed. Isn't it a little hard to tempt prideful and arrogant people? Doesn't matter, I'll ask game dimensions later. First, I gotta find a place to improve my level."

In a split second, without a warning. A hand tries to grab Crocus.

He somehow sensed it earlier, so he evaded it without even having enough experience in hand-to-hand combat.

"You!"

Crocus alertly exclaimed!
