13 Legacy Magic

"Is it necessary to do this much menial work? I could easily employ hundreds of people to work for you." Margaery said from the side as they already had a small outdoor relaxing area next to the place where Raynor is making the totem.

There were drinks, snacks, comfortable chairs, and a few parasols. Margaery made sure that her Lord's relaxing time was as good as it could be.

"Darling, didn't I say to you before that there is power in symbolism? Do you think I am doing all of this just because I like it? Well by this point I like it, but that is not the point.

My actions generate magic which is absorbed by the wood and the tools I use. I am certain that if I had a dragon this would be even more potent."

Her eyes slightly widened before she had a thoughtful look.

"Is this the reason why Highgarden, Winterfell, Casterly Rock, and other keeps built in Age of Heroes still stand to this day?"

She asked curiously, now that she thought about it she has never seen Highgarden being fixed apart from the regular gardening work.

"Aye, Even Winterfell which is exposed to harsh climate only had a single tower break over the centuries. That's before I blew it up."

"I see…amazing. By the way…did…you get their Valyrian sword?" She asked curiously, the girl has never seen the Magical swords of the old Valyria.

Raynor nodded before doing something with his hand and then pulling out a Greatsword almost as big as him but it was extremely light in his hands one could see smoke coming from the blade.

"This is Ice, the Ancestral Blade of House Stark."

The girl walked over and checked it out. She could see the smoke but there was something else there as well.

"...I can sense something…"

"Oh? So your blood is waking up. Staying close to me only fastens that process it would seem."

"!"

"S-Say what I will be able to do?" She asked curiously like a cat who was wiggling her tail when she saw her food.

"Your bloodline is closely related to Garth the Greenhand so you can work magic around plants and things like that. That's your natural talent, though you can still do my stuff not as naturally as I can though."

For a second she deflated hearing that.

This was where Raynor patted her head. "Don't worry you can make potions and stuff like that. We only need to awaken your blood fully."

"Potions? You mean like those stories of potions which regrow beards over the night, or heal people of any disease?"

"So your family has those stories as well?"

"You think they are true?" She asked with a thoughtful look.

"Pretty sure they are."

After hearing that she regained her vigour.

"Good, I suppose I will be even more useful to you." She said with a smile.

He slowly nodded. Then he thought about the time that got left in this tutorial world. He has around half a year left.

'I should find those dragon eggs. I have no idea how the system works after the tutorial, I could end up in an era of Aegon the Dragonbane or something else entirely. It could even be a jump chain where I am not around the dragonkin…'

'Not going to risk it. I need to visit Pentos and get those three eggs.'

"Don't worry about it. I will always find some things for you to do."

As he said that he took the blade and walked back to his totem working area. He took one of the wooden bowls he prepared beforehand. He took some dry grass and wooden bark and used the blade to start a fire inside this wooden bowl.

When Margaery saw this she was curious to know why he is starting a fire in a wooden bowl!

Yet, the moment the flame appeared the wooden bowl didn't even get affected by the flame!

He placed the bowl next to the totem, while on the other side of the totem, he filled the bowl with clear water.

After doing all these things he proceeded to work on digging a hole next in front of the totem. This is why the brown-haired girl asked why he is doing such a menial task by himself.

Half a day later, past the midday point, Wilas arrived with few guards. Honestly, the guard thing is so weird to the hunter but all the nobles have at least 4 to 10 following them all the time.

Even Margaery being with him has 4 of them when she is leaving the Highgarden grounds.

"Most impressive, you're almost done from the looks of it." The Heir of Highgarden said with an impressed tone. He could feel something radiating from this wooden structure.

"Yes. Almost done. Need to place some stones and then fill them up with water. We can go on a hunt tomorrow from the looks of it."

Margaery's oldest brother nodded at him while looking at the totem. He was feeling quite excited about the whole process as he believes it may be going to work.

"Fantastic. My lord I do have some news for you if you are interested to learn what is happening around the Seven Kingdoms?"

"Hoh? Fine, let's hear it. It was time for a break anyway." As he said that he got out of the hole. People could see his naked top. Everyone's eyes most of the time stay around his right hand. His tribal tattoo which goes from the fingers to his shoulder is something to look at.

Especially when he terrified the shit out of the guards by telling them how this tattoo is not normal and how it's part of the ritual which makes him acquire the souls of those he slays.

Honestly, they are still shaking even now. When the whole week has passed.

Thankfully Tyrells are less terrified but still cautious they are making sure they think before they talk, especially when it comes to jokes. In this regard, Margaery told her family members which kinds of jokes are okay and which are not.

"Well, I will start with our enemy. Lannisters have retreated and closed their borders. From the looks of it, they know that the Iron Throne is gone and everyone is fighting for themselves.

Dorne, Iron Islands, and Vale have declared independence. Infighting has started in the North, Stormlands…well Renly Baratheon is dead and Stannis declared himself the King of Storms but he is not done. From my sources, he is thinking of starting a conquest. Worst of all he has some sort of red Priestess whispering things and he has converted to a different religion.

Do you perhaps know anything more concrete about this woman?" Wilas asked about the woman, when it comes to magic he is asking Raynor.

*Sigh*

"This bitch is a pain in the rear. She believes Stannis is the hero reborn. Azor Ahai, the Warrior of Light, the Prince which has been promised. It's the same reason why Rhaegar abducted Lyanna Stark. He wanted to unite the First Men Bloodline with the Valyrian one. The Song of Ice and Fire."

"...You mean…"

"Yes, prophecies, and things like that. That whole stuff is nonsense because they are self-fulfilling. Chasing vision is a bad thing to do. Because you should not base things purely on them.

What she does is purely base things on them."

That moment Raynor stroked his chin.

"What is the situation of Reach Forces? I assume you will get to face Stannis and the Stormland forces?"

"That's a high possibility as he would target Reach first. Securing food is a priority in any war. However, he doesn't have the numbers to face us."

"Then we will strike first. After I am done with the totem, we will spread the forces in two and we will attack Stormlands." He said that with a thoughtful look.

"Let me check something first though. Don't be alarmed, I am going to use Greenseer magic of mine now."

As he said that leaned into the chair. And it looked like he just passed out!

For a moment Margaery and Wilas looked at each other. They had never seen someone just…pass out like that!

It lasted for a while, which made the brown-haired girl start to panic. She left her seat and walked to his side.

But then he gasped and strengthened himself out. Which freaked her out. She quickly started cleaning up the sweat from his forehead.

"It's fine. I still can't get used to this feeling of being pulled out from the ground."

His words made her calm down.

"It appears she is troublesome. The woman has tried to copy my magic by spying with her fire gazing."

"Was she successful?"

"Nope. The pair are too proud to try it how it is supposed to be done. They even improvised with sacrifices. Honestly, it's a cheap imitation which is disgusting to look at."

He said with a disgusted look.

"Here is the plan. We will split the army in two. Lowering our numbers, we will leave half of the forces in the Reach. This will insult and provoke Stannis and his fire bitch. On the battlefield, I will deal with the pair. Once they are removed from the war the Stormlands will scatter. Once that happens your forces will be able to conquer Stormlands. Your father will be happy to call himself King of Storms as well."

Wilas nodded several times as he heard this.

"I see… It's a good plan. We should iron it out with our Commanders. They could give you some more ideas."

Raynor nodded. He remembered a single Lord who is from an ancient house and is part of the Reach. The only Lord in Reach who has a Valyrian Sword. A dude from a military house.

By the name of Randyll Tarly, the hunter boy could learn some tactics and maybe some hunting tips from that old Lord. The man's house banner is a hunter. That just tells how close it hits to Raynor who wants to be the best hunter in the world…worlds…

"You mean Randyll Tarly?"

"Aye. Though our relationship with that house is… Strained." Wilas said the last part with a strained smile.

"Your Father?"

The pair sighed at how spot-on Raynor was.

"Lord Father, yes…"

"I guess we can take him for a hunt. The totem will be finished today, tomorrow we can leave for a hunt." The hunter suggested that he was thinking of meeting that old man. From the source material, he knows he is not like other Lords. He is hardcore militant, he is so militant that he even removed his son from the line of succession as he was fat and didn't practise family tradition. It doesn't help that their family castle is not far from the border with Dorne.

"Good enough. Maybe you can work as a middleman to soften this relationship."

"It is good enough because I want to meet the old man. I heard he is a good hunter and tactician."

"One of the best. He was the only one who routed Robert in his rebellion."

"He was!? I thought it was Lord Father…"Margaery looked quite embarrassed that she believed that her father routed Stag King. She should believe less of what comes from his mouth.

"...Don't believe such a thing so easily, sister," Wilas said while shaking his head.

"...Yes."

"Good enough. Now let me finish the totem. Then we can retire for the day."

~~~
As Margaery and Raynor were walking through the halls of Highgarden the girl stopped in her tracks for a bit.
"Is something wrong?" He asked her as he saw how she was starting to look around.
"...I could hear someone whispering."
When she said that he started looking around. He used his heightened spatial awareness which comes from the Wolf Totem.
The second ability is always active; he only needs to focus to have something similar to Pain's awareness from Naruto.
"There are no people apart from us in this area."
She nodded at him before looking around and focusing on the sound.
The girl walked around back and forth.
"It's getting stronger…"
That moment Raynor stroked his chin.
"Bloodline magic. I see… There should be some sort of hidden room. Fuck! It was stupid of me just destroying Winterfell! I should have kept one of them before I blew it up!" He smacked his forehead realising he could have gotten some benefits!
Margaery didn't say anything; she just started to touch the wall. Walking alongside it.
Eventually, she found the place where the whispering was the loudest.
It was on a rarely walked-through corridor that the moment green vines erupted and started to dig the wall creating a walkway, greenery started to spread eventually revealing a small groove inside the castle. Water started to fill up the small pond.
"Beautiful…do you know what this is?" She asked him while being in awe of what she saw.
Raynor, who was busy with something, looked around for a bit.
"I think this is just like my totem ritual site. Honestly, this is giving me some ideas on how to improve my work. If my gut feeling is right, which is most of the time. This is a bloodline awakening site."
She slowly nodded before walking to the pond, the girl waited for a while to allow the water to fill up.
While Raynor at the back was hitting his lower lip.
He was pissed at what he saw.
[HIDDEN LOCATION DISCOVERED]
[HIDDEN TASK COMPLETED]
[REWARD: Unique Magic Interface]
With a brush of his finger, he opened the new interface. He was even more pissed by this point.
[Song of Ice and Fire Legacy magic:
[Garth the Greenhand: Fertility Magic]
He learned how to use magic to manipulate his fertility. Which is God sent in this primitive world. He could now stop with Margaery's advances and start having fun.
Though this is just that… support magic. If he was in Winterfell he could have learned Bran the Builder's Alchemy which he used to make Winterfell and the Massive ice wall and other things.
Alchemy uses whatever materials to build whatever he wants. It would fit straight into his Shamanism and symbolistic Rituals.
Then of course there is Casterly Rock and Storms End.
Storm's End particularly is fascinating because it's a castle that stood against God of Storms' Wrath. If he could guess magic used over there is some sort of anti-element or even Anti-Divine.
'And the Iron Islands… A Dude slays Naga the Sea Dragon in the myths. It was so big it could swallow and sink islands… Some sort of Slaying magic?'
This made Raynor have a renewed interest in this world.
He wasn't thinking of visiting those places at all… but now he needs to figure out how to find those secret locations.
'Hightower could have some sort of magic showing the way magic? A means of clairvoyance, according to the myths they were the first humans to settle in Westeros coming from unknown parts of the world. This could be some serious legacy magic right there.'
After waiting for a bit the brown-haired girl slowly took a sip of the water.
"Nothing has happened." She said that with a pouty tone.
"You need a good night's sleep first. It is not instantaneous."
"I see."
"Then go and tell your parents about this place. More specifically your grandmother. She needs to control that oaf so that he wouldn't do anything to this groove."
Margaery nodded at him before standing up, cleaning herself up, and walking to find her family members.
~~~

With a sigh Raynor returned to his room, he was drained. It took a while to explain about the bloodlines and stuff. Thankfully the nobles are all about the bloodlines so he didn't need to explain much.

However, the magical side of things… Now this will be a pain in the butt.

The Maester was already pissed off about magic and its dangers. Thankfully Oliana kept and constantly dismissed the old man's 'council' ; she was afraid Raynor would find a way to kill the man even with guest rights.

The guest rights are a thing in Westeros; it's a unique sort of magic created ages ago. Raynor did notice the moment he took salt and bread. That some sort of symbolistic magic was activated.

So he is quite wary of just killing the old man straight out.

Regardless, after explanations were done they decided to keep the room a secret as much as possible. Of course all the Tyrells by blood drank the water.

Now he will have an interesting morning tomorrow.

~~~~~~Next Morning, at The Main Reach Camp~~~~~~
I looked at the massive expanse of soldiers with different banners. The most dominant was the golden rose in the green background.
This was the infamous 100 thousand soldiers of the Reach. Over 30 thousand are just heavy cavalry dominated by knights.
Over 20 thousand are just archers and crossbowmen. The remaining 50 thousand are a mix of light and heavy foot soldiers and pikemen.
Quite an impressive combination.
Though I was not here to watch soldiers which is slowly making my weeb soul reawaken from its slumber.
We eventually arrived at camp with green banners with a red hunter as its sigil.
"Lord Tyrell. How can I be of service?" a bald man with greyish hair greeted Willas. I immediately sensed nature from this guy. The guy was a hunter. My blood tells me that much!
"Lord Tarly, I would like you to meet a fellow hunter who wanted to meet you for a while."
The older man slowly nodded before looking at me with inspecting eyes. One of his eyes slightly went up.
"...Lad…how much war did you see?"
"Your banners are raised because of me, so quite a bit."
Randyll Tarly that moment could not control himself and slightly bowed toward me. He already understood who I was.
"I…have heard about how you alone destroyed the entire North and the banners raised by King Robert. Whatever you used was tactical genius!"
"We can discuss such things over a hunt, what do you say?"
"It will be my honour!"
Wilas could not contain himself and smiled when he heard how easily these two got along!
Mutual respect over the same craft?
