The quest was clear, but it wouldn't be easy. He needed to perfect the basic Jutsu, ace the written exam, and outshine everyone in the final assessment. It was a challenge, but Horyu was no stranger to challenges.
First, he focused on the Jutsu. The Clone Jutsu was straightforward but required precise chakra control. The Transformation Jutsu was more about creativity and adaptability, while the Replacement Jutsu demanded quick reflexes and awareness.
His academy three jutsu were still Level 1. Horyu sat cross-legged in his room, the System Interface glowing before his eyes. The quiet of the night was a stark contrast to the day's victories and tumult. He was alone, but not lonely; his thoughts were company enough. The System could track his progress, and unlike others, he could precisely see what worked and what didn't in his training.
Taking out the reward from Hinata's quest, the Enhanced Chakra Control Scroll, Horyu prepared to use it. But as he tried, the System flashed an error message:

His new title, 'New Prodigy of Konoha', made his skills advance 20% faster. When he finally reached Level 10, he used the scroll once again. The System updated:

Each level of Chakra Control (Beginner) had given him 1% control, totaling 30%. Now, at Intermediate Level 1, his control had increased to 32%, meaning each level of Chakra Control (Intermediate) added 2% more efficiency. "This is good," Horyu thought, feeling a surge of satisfaction.
Setting aside Chakra Control practice, he turned his attention to the Kage Bunshin Jutsu Scroll. As soon as he held it, the System prompted:

He stood up, feeling the weight of the day's events and the anticipation of the challenges ahead. Walking to the garden, he glanced at the moon, its pale light casting shadows around him. He needed to master the basic jutsu for the Academy exam, and with the Kage Bunshin Jutsu, he could accelerate his training.
The Shadow Clone Jutsu: Initially at Level 1, allowed Horyu to create clones. Each clone consumes a significant portion of his chakra, and maintaining clones for extended periods led to mental and physical fatigue. As Horyu advanced this skill to Level 10, the chakra consumption and fatigue effects would be halved, making it more sustainable. Upon reaching Level 20, these negative effects wpuld be eliminated entirely, allowing for efficient clone creation without drawbacks. The number of clones Horyu could produce was limited only by his chakra reserves, not the skill level.
Using Shadow Clone for other jutsu was also training Kage Bunshin, so Horyu wasn't worried. He knew the technique had the drawback of passing fatigue and mental load as well, making it dangerous. Sighing, he created a clone and instructed it to train the Clone Jutsu. He, the original, instead started to ponder about Henge, the Transformation Jutsu. This was a jutsu that always gave him a headache. In the series, Naruto transformed into a Shuriken, and Jiraiya transformed into a bibelot to evade Naruto. And once, Naruto, with Gamabunta, transformed into the Nine Tails. Then was it possible to change into inanimate and non-human things? Horyu wasn't sure. He assumed this was an advanced form of Henge, but that was yet to be seen. For now, he had to transform into Iruka perfectly to pass the test.
"Alright, let's see what I can do with this Henge Jutsu," Horyu muttered to himself, focusing his chakra. He remembered the specifics from the Naruto series, the intricacies of the jutsu, and how it was used in various scenarios.
The transformation wasn't perfect on his first try. He looked more like a rough sketch of Iruka than the real thing. "Not quite right," he said, inspecting his reflection. "The details are off."
He tried again, focusing more on Iruka's specific features, his posture, and the way he carried himself. The transformation was better this time, but still not perfect. "Closer, but still not Iruka-sensei," he noted, a hint of frustration in his voice.
Horyu's third attempt was much more successful. He managed to capture Iruka's essence more accurately, from the way he styled his hair down to the creases on his forehead protector. "This is it. I look almost exactly like him," he said with a nod of satisfaction.
He spent the next hour alternating between maintaining the transformation and resting, conserving his chakra. "This jutsu is more draining than I expected," he admitted, feeling the strain on his chakra reserves.
As he practiced, Horyu couldn't help but think about the written exam. "That's going to be a whole different challenge," he mused. "But with my knowledge of the Naruto world and the System's help, I should be able to ace it."
He glanced at the clone, still diligently practicing the Clone Jutsu. "Keep at it," he encouraged.
Hours passed by, and Horyu's skills leveled up a few times. The System Interface blinked with notifications, marking his progress.

Panting, Horyu sat in the bath, his body relaxing in the warm water. The physical exhaustion was expected, but the mental fatigue from cancelling his clone was something else. It was akin to dumping hours of content into his brain in a single second. However, he realized that his Intelligence Stat eased the pain, making it more bearable.
"Damn, that was intense," Horyu muttered to himself, closing his eyes. "But it's paying off. The jutsu are coming along."
