10 Yggdrasil

The gaming set was a mechanical helmet and a neck band. It looked similar to the one shown in the show but better.

It also included a bed which was made in a way that you will not feel uncomfortable even after spending a long time inside. It also included machines that will inject you with nutrients from time to time so that you can play the game for longer without taking a break.

But i didn't need that so i just equipped the head gear and neck band and, laid down on the bed logged in.

I was once again in a dark space, but there were some floating screens in front of me. There were various screens with various options. It also had a Yggdrasil.

I selected Yggdrasil and it took me into a white space. Then there came a few floating words that said "Yggdrasil Online"

{Welcome to Yggdrasil online}

A mechanical voice welcomed me.

{Would you like to a tutorial about the basic functions of the game?}

The mechanical voice asked and there came Yes & No floating in front of me.

I clicked on yes. I didn't know anything about this super advanced thing, so a tutorial will be very helpful.

{First Select a name for yourself. To do that say "Select name" out loud. A bar will be form in front of you. Input your name there}

Ok. "Select name" I said. A empty bar with keyboard below it popped up.

I thought about it and decided to go with "Radruga Val Adrian"

What does it mean?

Nothing. Atleast i don't know if it has a meaning.

I just thought of some random words that sounds cool and selected it.

Some might say it's a bad name since it's meaningless, but it's not like my real name was any special.

My real name is a very very common name. There are probably 10k people with the same name. Maybe even more.

So i just selected some random words so that this will not be a common name.

After pressing confirm, the name selection menu went away. The mechanical voice came back again and said

{Now you have to select your starting race. Races are divided into three types : Humanoid, Demi human and Heteromorph. There are more than 1000 races available. Different races have different specialities. Some are better in magic whereas some are better at physical combat. Races are also limited to specific worlds at the start. If you select a holy race like angel, you can't select Helheim as starter world. But don't worry. You can explore other worlds as you can unlock world travel after you cross a certain level.}

Hmm, race choice. That's a tough choice as from what i know, you can't reset your job and race levels.

Well, you can reset levels by dying. It reduces 5 levels or less if you use special items. But you can never reset your starting race and job. You have to delete you whole character if you truly want to start anew.

I have to select something that will be useful. I have to be very careful with all my choices as this isn't just a game character I am making. It will be my own body in a few years. All the powers i choose will be mine.

After scrolling over all the choices and thinking carefully, I selected Arcane Demon.

This race is good for magic casters. It gives good damage buff to destructive magic like fire and lightning.

I know fire magic is very common but it still is effective. And i love lightning magic. So it was a good choice, atleast according to me.

After i selected the race, the mechanical voice was back again.

{Now you have to select you job class. There are more than 300 job classes. You can decide what you want to be. Weather you want to be a knight in shining armour, using your sword to fight your enemies, or a wise wizard that brings down hell on the battlefield, Or a kind druid that fights enemies with the power of nature. It's your choice. Choose whatever you think is fun and enjoy our game.} Said the voice in an exiting tone.

For job class, i will be going with elemental mage. After confirming the job class the voice was back once again.

{Now you have to select your starting world. Because of your race choice, you have 3 worlds available. They are Niflheim, Helheim, Muspelheim. Neflheim is a cold, dark, misty, palce of the dead. Helheim is a desolate icy world, which was perpetually shrouded in pure darkness. The atmosphere was grim and dark, and the sky was constantly overcast. Muspelheim is a realm of fire.}

Helheim is my world of choice as this is the world where Nazarick is located.

{Congratulations! Your selection is complete. You can now enjoy our game. May you have a fun time playing our game.}

And with that there was darkness once more. But it didn't last long as i woke up in a dark icy place. There was ice as far as i could see.

There was once again a mechanical voice, but this one sounded different from the previous one.

{Welcome to the world of Helheim. I am the voice of the world. I guide new travellers like you.}

{To move around, try to ise your body just like you do in your real world.}

I willed my body to move, and it started to do as i willed. It felt just like my real body.

{Nice. Now try to see on the top left corner of your screen. There is you level, HP bar and MP bar. On the top left you have the options menu like Time, Settings, Message, Logout, etc. On the top middle you can see target name, and info. On the bottom left you have spells and skills list. On the bottom right you have the map.}

I checked all of them and it was there all right.

{Now go the the village behind you to start your first quest.}

Turning around, i could see a village. It should be the starter village.

I started walking towards the village as i wondered about this game. This place felt soo real. This technology would have shook my old world. It was unbelievable that it was just a game. But i guess getting reincarnated with a wish is more unbelievable.

As i was thinking about all that, i reached the village. There was a old guy waiting at the front. He looked human.

The old guy looked towards me and said, "Welcome to this humble village otherworldly traveller. I will help you start your journey."
