[A/N: Time Skips soon]
"What's the meaning of this interruption! Jarl Balgruuf is not receiving visitors," The Dark Elf in leather armor told me.
"I am a Companion, I was told that your Jarl has a job for me? And from your conversation, I am guessing you all are talking about the Dragon that attacked Helgen?" I asked.
"So it's true? Have you seen this dragon with your own eyes?" The Jarl asked making the dark elf back up from me and give me some personal space, but she kept her sword drawn and was ready for an attack at a moment's notice.
"Yes, I got a clear view of the dragon landing in Helgen and begin burning it down as the Imperials wrongly tried to execute me and execute the Stormcloaks and their leader, Ulfric," I told the Jarl honestly.
"By Ysmir, Irileth was right! And they even had Ulfric as well!" Jarl Balgruuf cursed.
The Jarl then looked over to the man wearing fancy clothes standing next to him and asked, "What do you say now, Proventus? Shall we continue to trust in the strength of our walls? Against a Dragon?!"
The Dark Elf then interrupted and said, "My lord, we should send troops to Riverwood at once! It's in the most immediate danger if that dragon is lurking in the mountains..."
"The Jarl of Falkreath will view that as a provocation! He'll assume we're preparing to Ulfric's side and attack him!" The steward standing next to the Jarl quickly responded.
"We should not..."
"I will not stand idly by while a dragon burns my hold and slaughters my people! Irileth send a detachment to Riverwood at once!" The Jarl interrupted the Steward.
'Hmm...he's a benevolent ruler.' I thought to myself.
"Thank you for confirming the rumors for us, as a token of my thanks, I will let you take a weapon from my personal armory!" The Jarl thanked me.
"Thank you, Jarl Balgruuf," I nodded.
"You said that you were here for the Job correct?" The Jarl asked.
"That's right," I replied.
"The come, follow me to my Court Wizard."
Following him to a large room set to the side of the hall, I found myself in a strange room that had multiple bookshelves filled with scrolls and books along with a man standing over the desk with a frown as he read through a scroll.
"Farengar, I have brought someone I think can help you," The Jarl spoke, making the man look up from the scroll.
"Ah, I see, so you are the one that will retrieve the tablet for me," The Wizard spoke after the Jarl walked away.
I then noticed that a guard rushed past me, but ignored this as I asked the Court Wizard a few questions.
"What am I fetching for you, where will I find it, and what does it look like?" I asked the Court Wizard.
"You are going to fetch a stone tablet in Bleak Falls Barrow, it should look like a stone tablet with some kind of map of Skyrim etched on its surface," The Court Wizard explained as I just sighed.
"Is it this tablet?" I asked as I pulled out the Tablet I looted a bit ago from Bleak Falls Barrow.
"Yes, that's it!" The Court Wizard shouted in excitement as he took the stone from my hands and immediately began examining it.
"My payment?" I asked.
"Do you want Gold, Potions, Spell Tomes, or Scrolls?" The Court Wizard replied without looking at me.
"Spell Tomes, preferably," I told him simply.
"Then chose a spell tome from that shelf," He told me as he pointed towards the middle shelf of the large bookshelf.
Walking over I read the covers of the books.
[Bound Armor], [Lesser Night Vision], [Vampire's Bane], [Sun Fire], [Necrotic Touch], [Magelight], [Soul Trap], [Open Novice Lock], and [Summon Lesser Skeleton Archer]
Reading through all of the spell tomes before me I couldn't help but have a hard time choosing.
They were all useful in their own ways and I could only choose one.
But which one should I choose?
Removing some of the options, I only had [Lesser Night Vision], [Magelight], [Open Novice Lock], and [Summon Lesser Skeleton Archer] left to choose through.
I then shook my head and took [Open Novice Lock] out of the question since I could do that myself.
I then removed Magelight from the equation leaving [Lesser Night Vision] and [Summon Lesser Skeleton Archer] to chose from.
In the end, I chose [Lesser Night Vision] but before I could head back to Jorvaskr, I was stopped by the Dark Elf Housecarl of the Jarl.
"Farengar Jarl Balgruuf requests to see you at once, you as well stranger," The Dark Elf told the both of us.
Sighing in annoyance I said, "What could he possibly want to see me for..."
