12 Conflicts in King’s Landing

Sure enough, according to the original story Robert went on a hunting trip with Barristan and Renly after convincing Eddard to return as Hand.

Eddard then took control of King's Landing and began ruling.

Only a few days later a report came to King's Landing about The Mountains raids in the Riverlands. I needed things to go according to the lore so I still asked them to raid.

I was currently standing close to Eddard whom sat at the throne as he went through problems in the realm. He then needed to decide someone to cease Cleganes raids in the Riverlands.

"Lord Durrandon!" He announced, same as he did in the story. And with that he stepped up

"Gather 100 men and march to Clegane keep. Order them to cease hostilities." Ned said

"Yes My Lord! It shall be done immediately." He said as he turned to leave.

"Lord Eddard?" I said as I stepped down from the stairs and turned around to face him.

"I ask for your permission to quell these hostilities myself." I said

"And why is that?" He said, being suspicious.

"Clegane is raiding the region of the House I swore an oath to, I wish to be the one to quell those attacking the peace of the Riverlands and the realm. Nobody knows the Riverlands as we do, my lord." I said

"Hmmm, very well. It will fit well with your position as Master of War, you may take leave to quell these attacks." Ned said.

"Thank you, My Lord." I said as I turned around and left, it was time to have some fun.

Immediately after I took my 200 elite men, Jon, Jorgen and Carthogan. We quickly left for Lychester, we would then gain 200 additional men in reinforcements.

It only took us 3 days to arrive due to our small size. Immediately after we left Lychester and travelled towards Pinkmaiden, the target of these raids. I had already sent a letter to the Lords of Pinkmaiden and asked them to localise the raiders.

We arrived at Pinkmaiden after 2 days. They had managed to find them.

Gregor Clegane and his unit was camping out in a small village on the other side of Mummers Ford, we immediately left and we arrived at Mummers ford after 10 hours where we camped out and slept. Next morning we immediately set out. However it seemed that Gregor had gotten information about our impending arrival and they had formed up outside the village.

He had 300 men alongside 200 forced villagers. They had taken up pitchforks and other small arms and was stationed in the front of their formation. They had 2 blocks, 50 men wide each. 100 villagers and 125 Clegane men in each, I had decided to go against the words of my guards and I joined the formation. Tytos was put in charge of commanding the battle.

Soon enough we advanced. We decided to stand our ground and wait. The Clegane men were not known for their patience.

I was stationed in the third row alongside Jon, Jorgen and the young Carthogan.

Soon enough the Clegane men ordered the villagers to charge. I had stationed my most elite men in the front and therefore the villagers with no combat experience or formation, only 30% carrying shields were slaughtered. We had 200 in each block, 100 of my elite and 100 normal ones.

The villagers were quickly slaughtered. But the Clegane men had been informed about our formation and therefore used the villagers as meat shields to get through our spears. And it seemed to be working. However, Tytos then gave an order that even shocked me. The entirety of the 3rd and 2nd line would throw their spears into the Clegane lines. And switch to swords. And then switch with the 1st line whom would do the same.

It would make sense as the 200 men are first and foremost trained in close combat sword fighting. And we quickly followed through with the order. I put all my force into my spear and threw it. We then pushed forward. Me and Carthogan in the middle with Jorgen on my right and Jon on Carthogan left.

We followed through and I ended up on the 2nd line. It was mainly fine but we needed to be aware for potential luck stabs through the first line or assist the first line.

After 3 minutes of fighting the man right Infront of me died and I had to take his place. I used a round shield for additional movement and I started my move by slashing a downwards slash towards the guy whom had just killed the guy in front of me.

He blocked with his round shield, but he couldn't see anything. I used that time to kick his foot giving making it go the wrong way, and he quickly bent over. However that was all I needed to smash my shield into his head knocking him out cold.

This quickly attracted a lot of attention as the rows were only 50 men in length and I quickly heard screams from our side.

"The Lord is here! He's fighting bravely for us!" A solider screamed.

"He's fighting beside us brothers! Slaughter these Cleganes!" Another screamed.

And with that everyone in our lines became a lot more engaged. That's when the men beside me was switched out with Jon and Jorgen. Carthogan stayed back for the time.

Jorgen and Jon killed their opponents within 10 seconds completely overwhelming them. I had also put the new guy in a bad situation. Mainly having his shield arm bent the wrong way and only fighting with his sword.

However he didn't go down without a fight, he was extremely determined to get rewards for killing me. And therefor in a last ditch effort he threw his sword aside used his remaining arm to jank my shield out of my hands before he used his other arm to stab my eyes. Only that certain arm didn't work and I cut his head off.

I then took my left hand into my pocket and took out a knife. It was a large knife being the size of my forearm.

I looked at Jon and Jorgen and we nodded to each other. We then pushed forward and into their lines. Now their first line was beside us. We began attacking their 2nd line and causing chaos in their 1st line due to not being able to replace the small break. However that was enough for their entire first line to fall.

Immediately after we pushed through our 2nd line swarmed through our gap and attacked their first line, our elite unit managed to take perfect advantage of this and multiple gaps opened in their 1st line and only 2 minutes later it was completely demolished. The villagers had also either died or escaped a long time ago. They didn't not survive for more than a few minutes and their lines were only Clegane men.

After pushing through their 1st line I was met with 3 men attacking me. Jon and Jorgen had 5 each.

The guy on the left was the first to attack. Starting with a downwards slash. I sidestepped it and slashed at him in an upwards slash. With my right hand. He immediately blocked with his shield. But instead of stepping away I stepped straight Infront of him and slid my hand above his shield and into the gap in his helmet.

Due to being on the right the guy on the left couldn't slash at me yet, but the guy in the middle could. Be immediately slashed sidewards at me. I immediately blocked with my sword before using my handle to push it downwards.

Then I bashed him with my shoulder making him step back. I used thag opportunity to step back and regain my composure.

I then turned towards the remaining 2 guys. They stood side by side and they both slashed side wards towards me at the same time.

I used my sword to block the right slash stopping it in its track. I then used my knife to redirect the left slash held it back just in time to step around it.

I then used my physical momentum to slash my sword around me and towards his head.

Luckily for him he managed to block with his round shield. But he didn't expect the force and he got stunned for a few seconds. I took that time to slash my knife towards his neck, cutting it and making him fall down.

I then managed to sidestep just in time for the last guys sword to hit the ground, setting it stuck for two seconds. I managed to kick his foot making him flinch in pain, which stopped him from taking his sword up. Which was enough time for me to stab my sword through his brain.

After completing that the men around me pushed through and their lines got completely destroyed by the elite skill of our men.

I then left the line while Jon, Jorgen and Carthogan continued fighting. And I went back to the command. The slaughter ended after Jon and Jorgen confronted the Mountain and managed to defeat him after 10 minutes of fighting. Luckily all of the mountains men was killed halfway into their duel.

After defeating the Clegane men. We took prisoners before returning to Lychester where we took off with our 200 men. We had suffered 29 casualties and we replaced them with the men we had just fought with. The rest transported majority of the high rank men to Riverrun for questioning with the tullies while we sent the men at arms to work in our mines or other places.

After a day of rest. We took horses for each of our men and rode to King's Landing. Only 3 days after we arrived. King Robert came back, being fatally damaged by a boar.

I arrived before Eddard and I was mainly standing in a corner. After a bit Ned arrived and we all left. I followed Cersei after.

"So, what will we do now? Robert is dying." I said

"We will make sure Joffrey is named the new King, Robert likely made Eddard Lord Regent but if we let him rule for now then Lannister will fall from power and Stannis will become King." She said.

"I see, Renly is likely to support him. And as such we must be prepared." I said.

"Indeed, can I trust your City Watch and men?" She asked.

"Aye, the city watch may join you in the initial clash. I will target their establishments in King's Landing." I said.

Although Ned is honourable he didn't completely waste this opportunity. Ned badly needed proper armor for the north and therefore spent large cash in getting blacksmiths all around KL to work for him. And he somewhat managed to do his occupying 30% of the total blacksmiths. He had taken 100 guards with him to KL, 50 in the Red Keep and 50 outside protecting his establishments.

After that I left, being aware of our plans. Quickly after I sent a message to Jack ordering him to send Jonnel as well as his best sword to me and to prepare our CW loyalists to enter the Red Keep. 5 hours later he informed me of Baelish's attempts on bribing them to act as Stark helpers then turn on them. I told him to accept it was it was free money.

And soon enough I was called by Joffrey to the Great Keep. When I arrived the Lannister men was getting themselves situated. I had Jon by my side, while I had stationed Jorgen close to Sansa's quarters. Ready to step in at all times.

And with that. Eddard Stark came into the keep alongside his host of Stark men.

The battle of King's Landing was about to begin.
