--------------------------

The Eyrie, the 29th of the ninth moon, 272 AC, Ten days after Steffon's talk with his sons, Robert and Edward reached the Eyrie.

Edward did not really want to ride with Robert. He loathed his personality, but he had to save his image in front of his parents and Lord Arryn.

When they were about to hop down from their horses, they heard a lot of steps coming towards them and saw a servant walking past the gate and started talking.

"You are standing in front of Jon of House Arryn. The Lord of the Eyrie, Defender of the Vale and Warden of the East." Said the servant with a loud voice.

When Robert and Edward took a look, they saw an old man in his fifties with black hair, though salt white hair crept at the stems of his hair, and sky blue eyes. He was standing in front of the gate waiting for them.

Robert and Edward hopped down from their horses at once and gave the yields to the stable boys.

Edward hurried towards Jon and said.

"It's an honor to be your wards, Lord Arryn. This one is Edward of House Baratheon."

He signaled for Robert at once to follow his example. Robert, like always, sucked in introductions. He would always say some shit words in the middle of his introduction.

Seeing his brother's gaze, Robert hurried to introduce himself.

"Lord Arryn, I am Robert Baratheon." Said Robert trying to sound polite, but his loud voice said the opposite.

"You must be tired from your journey. The servant had prepared rooms for you. You should have a bath, then come and have your supper later." Said Jon using his soft and fatherly voice.

"We are grateful for your concern, Lord Arryn." Replied Edward politely.

Robert and Edward, then, excused themselves. They went to their room to empty their luggage and take a bath.

After dinner, Lord Arryn told them to have some sleep and to meet him in his study the first thing in the morning.

Before sleeping, Edward imagined how his talk with Lord Arryn tomorrow would go. Lord Arryn was one of the few people he respected in this world. The guy was wise and respectable. He treated Robert and Ned Stark as his real sons. That was why they respected him. Yeah, it might be because he didn't have a son, but the guy still had his nephew at this point.

In the morning, Robert and Edward went to Lord Arryn's study to talk to Lord Arryn. When they arrived, they told the servant to inform Lord Arryn. Ten seconds later, they heard a soft voice from inside.

"Come on in." Said Lord Arryn with his soft voice.

Robert and Edward entered the room to see Lord Arryn sitting behind his desk with documents in front of him. Lord Arryn then looked up and waved for them to sit down.

"I hope you had a good sleep." Said Lord Arryn looking at both of them.

"We are grateful for your care, Lord Arryn." Replied Edward with a polite voice.

"No need for formalities. You could just call me Jon or even foster father if you liked." Said Arryn with his gentle voice.

Robert and Edward nodded and waited for Jon to continue.

"Well, as you are going to be my wards for the next few years, I need to know what do you expect to learn in your stay with me? What are you hoping for in the future? Let's start with you, Robert." Said Jon signaling Robert to start.

"I want to be the strongest in this realm. I want my hammer to know no boundaries and crush the head of every opponent I have." Replied Robert with a shout.

Edward looked at this brother of his as if he was looking at an idiot. He really wanted to open Robert's skull and see what was put there instead of his brain. You can't always talk about fighting and think you are normal.

Like Edward had the right to say these words with his shit and arrogant personality.

Jon chuckled a little, then nodded his head. He continued his talk with Robert.

"Your ambition needs hard work and intensive training to achieve. Are you ready for such pain?" asked Jon with humor in his voice.

"Aye, I was born ready." Replied Robert with a shout.

"Good, now, go with master Royce ( Not the same Royce in the books nor his father, maybe a relative.). He will take you to the training yard. He will be the one responsible for your training. Now, go, and I will check on you every once in and while." Said Jon.

Robert nodded his head and headed out with master Royce leaving only Edward and Jon in the room.

Jon then turned his head towards Edward. He was interested in the young stag. He had been hearing good news about him in the last years.

"Well, Edward, I have heard good things about you. What are they calling you now? Oh, the mighty stag and the schemer, right? Haha." Laughed Arryn while looking at Edward with interest.

"I have only been doing my best." Replied Edward, trying to hide his ambitions.

"You know you are the first Baratheon that moved away from your house's motto 'Ours is the Fury.'. Most Baratheons will be like your brother, Robert, hot-blooded and reckless. Although your father is a wise man, he still lets his anger take over him sometimes." Said Jon.

"Well, maybe the motto has a different meaning." Said Edward while scratching the back of his head.

"Well, maybe. So now Edward, what are you looking for by coming here? What do you expect for your future?" asked Jon brushing the topic behind his head.

"Well, I would like to learn everything that will be of help to Stormsland. I want to learn how to lead an army, How to govern, etc." Said Edward hiding his ambitions between the line.

"Well, that's good news for Stormsland to have a lord's son that cares about the land and the people. But what about your training?" asked Jon nodding his head.

"Of course, I won't forget my training. I have already formulated training routines that help me in Storm's End." Replied Edward.

Jon nodded his head and signaled the steward to bring some documents. The steward nodded and added more documents to the disk.

"Well, now, Edward, you will be my direct ward and will help me solve the different problems that arise in the vale." Said Jon handling Edward some documents.

Edward nodded his head. Well, that was what he had already expected. He had been helping his father since he was six.

"Lord Arryn, I had a request. I had formed a small unit that I have been training with when I was in Storm's End. I asked my father, and he asked me to get your permission if I want them to follow me here. So what do you think?" said Edward while looking at Jon.

Jon took some time to under Edward's request then shook his head.

"I will only allow for two hundred men to follow you here. The rest will get permission after I see your performance in two years." Said Jon giving his final words about this matter.

Edward nodded his head and then took a seat and started doing his duty by helping Lord Arryn with the documents. Arryn gave Edward an approval look, and he too started doing his work.
