20 Chapter 19: Changes.

[Two weeks later]

[David POV]

After we left Vaes Dothrak, we continued our travels through the whole Dothraki sea. It has been interesting the change in our interactions with the rest of the Khalasars after our visit. News does travel fasts, and this time it benefited us. They still called me foreign Khal, but now, when we encounter other Khalasars, there wasn't tension between us.

News travels fast, and thanks to this, we were able to find out that Drogo was expanding his Khalasar at an incredible rate, and the farther we got from Vaes Dothrak, the fewer Khalasars we encountered. Soon there would only remain two Khalsars, Khal Drogo and mine.

So some preparations were needed, in case he decides that my Pack is also part of his domain and get ideas that he shouldn't have.

So, every time we encounter his constant growing Khalasar, we had to be careful not to seem too weak but also not aggressive enough to incite a battle that none of us were prepared to have yet.

And after all this time spent with the culture here, I realize that it had an amazing fit for the Lycan race and how I want it to develop.

I don't know what the future holds for us, but one thing was certain. Either we completely take control of these lands, or we would need to find a place to call ours.

I had some ideas for where we could go, but that was for the future David to worry, now we continue forward.

[Two years later]

[297 AC]

These past two years have been quite good to us, with my Pack traveling through the land has been memorable. The Pack keeps growing at a constant rate until about six months ago, that all Khalasara suffered two destinies. One gets swallowed completely by Khal Drogo Khalasar, the second, be caught by us, defeated and have their number diminished, left as easy prey for Drogo.

And finally, it was almost impossible to find a solo Khalasar, the ones that were not caught by any of us. They started hiding in any hole they can find or, they escaped the Dothraki sea and started causing chaos near the territories of slavers bay.

But not being strong enough or have the numbers. They did not dare to touch any big cities, just some caravans or towns they could find. Generating many questions everywhere they went.

And after a lot of confrontations against Drogo, we stopped getting in the way of each other. Our two Khalasar kept business as normal, without a hitch. News of the two giant Khalasars in the Dothraki sea traveled far and wide. The terror of a united Dothraki sea spreads everywhere in the territories of Essos and some of Westeros. And even more problems for myself and my Pack comes with it.

The last thing I want is to be the center of attention of the whole world. And knowing what was to come in less than a year concerns me. Soon the battles for the iron throne will start. But who knows how the future has changed, thanks to my involvement. From what Varys has let me know through the years, the king is not the same I used to know. The Lannister twins were not close anymore, one deranged from the disappearance of her children. The other, looking for any chance to please the other, and try to fix their relationship. Being Turned into a loyal dog following his master to the end of the world. It seems that when Cercei pushed him away, he couldn't handle it, ending as he did.

The future mad king Joffrey. Started to act unruly, as if the whole world already belonged to him. Causing the king to notice his actions, and decided to send him away to train under the most strict and heartless person he knew, Tywin. Only he could stop his mad son from becoming something unacceptable to be the heir to the throne.

But not being the drunken fool he used to be, he didn't put all his hopes in the little demon going straight. And having only one remaining heir was risky business. So as the intelligence says, he was starting to plan for this.

The Starks have developed quite nicely through the years. Robb and Jon have continued to grow into fine young Lycans, as did the rest of the pups, including the now-famous Stark triplets.

And from my intel gathering, we learned that the two Targaryen siblings have been staying with Illyrio in Pentos since the time my Pack saved them from the assassins sent by the King. And as I expected, till now, not much thing has changed on the surface from what I remember.

But who knew what Varys had planned for them this time around. Many things have changed, so I expect his plans have to.

And being prepared for what was to come, some preparations were needed. Because at this point, I believe that Varys already has plans for my Pack and me. And I'm intrigued by what he has planned, so we will see how things develop.

[Varys POV]

Illyrio has taken good care of the Targaryen, but the more he tells me of how Viserys acts, the more unsuitable I see him for paving the ground for the young griff to re-emerge as the rightful King of the seven kingdoms.

So either I need to set him straight or get rid of him before he can get out of my control. And now, as we had planned, Khal Drogo contacted Illyrio in search of the exotic wife he so desires, even more, that he is trying to unify the whole Dothraki sea. But I'm having second thoughts if I should try the original plan and get Viserys the Dothraki on his side. Or if I should try and get the Direwolf wizard, cementing the illusory strength that comes with the Targaryen.

From what I have seen from the one called David, he is searching for a place to call his own. And all those around him follow him unconditionally. Being able to offer that kind of power has its benefits.

But he is indeed very suitable for taking the Targaryen back to the throne. Convincing him will be the hard part. He is not like Drogo, that by having him marry Daenerys he would fall almost instantly under my control.

I also need to make the king fall to his old habits. But through all these years, I was never able to make him fall off the wagon. But one good thing came out of all this trouble, Joffrey has been trying intensively with Tywin. And with all the torture he has endured, he is not the same torturing little bastard, but now has become more scheming, more heartless, harder to deal with, doing all his hobbies secretly, with almost no one noticing. And no longer being controlled by his mother, but now by Tywin which creates a lot of trouble for everyone.

And it didn't matter that two of the royal children went missing, the investigation of the real heritage is already starting. Making little fingers also start his schemes with Lysa Arryn, and it will not be long till the realm gets into a new era of chaos.

[two months later]

[David POV]

Our journey in the Dothraki sea has brought a lot to the Pack. All the new pups, born or turned from the Dothraki, have brought a lot of happiness to our lives. Training them, teaching them the way of our race has been fulfilling, but peaceful times always have to finish.

This day, a letter came from Pentos. And with came the start of everything.

Sorry if I have not uploaded it for a long time. I didn't have the time, until now that I got a little bit of free time. I didn't re-read it, so if you find any mistakes or have any ideas on how I can change the story, I would appreciate it.

I already have somewhat of an idea of who I want the Mc to be with. but if you have any suggestions they are welcome. and let me know what you think of the story and how I can develop it further.
