Chapter 2 Invasion (2)

Fear had gripped people's hearts as they couldn't understand what was going on, and Arthur and Leonard were no different.

Everyone was pushing and pulling each other to rush out of the bus first, and yet the chaos seemed to have an opposite effect as no one was willing to let others leave before them.

Arthur and Leonard were sitting just a few seats behind the bus driver, so they were actually among the first ones to reach the door of the bus.

Although some people tried to pull them back so they could leave first, the two of them eventually made it past the frantic crowd a few seconds later as they finally left the bus, before they turned their gazes towards the sky.

The thousands of black dots had started to descend extremely quickly after leaving the enormous spaceships, but it was clear that they hadn't come in peace.

In just half a minute, when they were just a few tens of meters away from the ground, everyone could finally make out the true appearance of those dots.

Arthur and Leonard, as well as everyone else around the bus could see the creatures that had a humanoid shape, but their thin and long purple limbs, as well as their 4 green eyes, made it clear that they weren't humans at all. Their mouths and the rows of sharp teeth that revealed themselves when they opened them only served to reinforce those thoughts.

These creatures were actually clad in some kind of black armor, while in their hands, each of them were holding different types of weapons.

Some of them held huge shields, while others seemed to be wielding swords, sabers, or spears, as well as axes, daggers, maces, lances, and even bows and arrows.

There were even those who were floating a few tens of meters from the ground without descending any further almost as if they were levitating, while in their hands they held short or long staffs, each of them made from different kinds of materials.

''Weeooh weeooh''

The sirens of the police cars finally sounded shortly after the spaceships had appeared in the sky, lighting the faces of the petrified civilians with rays full of hope.

Since the police station was just 100 meters away from the bus station, the police quickly arrived in just a few minutes.

Turning his head to the side, Arthur saw the policemen that immediately left their cars as soon as they arrived at the scene, before they took out their handguns and started shooting the alien creatures that were descending from the sky.

The aliens seemed excited when they saw the policemen shooting their bullets towards them as they quickly changed their targets from the people in the bus station to them.

And yet, the scene that followed was far from what the police had expected to see.

The bullets from the guns couldn't even scratch the black armor on the aliens' bodies, while the few bullets that actually landed on the exposed arms, legs, or even the faces of those purple creatures seemed to have different effects depending on the creature that they hit.

Some bullets seemed to have managed to pierce through the skin of a few of those aliens, drawing out some of their purple blood, but there were some among the aliens that were completely unharmed even when they were shot in their faces.

It seemed that each alien was different in terms of how durable their bodies were.

Ignoring the bullets from the handguns, the aliens rapidly descended from the sky, as more than 100 of them surrounded the policemen and their police cars.

However, there were still thousands of those aliens who seemed to be ignoring the police and they had already started to spread throughout the rest of the city.

The scene that followed instantly silenced the cries of the people around the bus station, as everyone stared at the policemen with eyes filled with endless terror!

Arthur too watched, as the majority of the purple-colored aliens simply hovered in the air as they surrounded the police cars without making a move, while more than a dozen of those aliens that were holding swords or daggers kept descending towards the policemen without any hesitation.

The sounds of bullets colliding with the aliens' skin or their black armor resounded loudly, but not a single one of those purple-colored monsters seemed to be harmed as they quickly arrived in the midst of the policemen who finally tried to step back in fear.

If even their bullets couldn't harm these beasts then what else could they possibly do?

Unfortunately for them, although the aliens' bodies were huge as each of them was more than 4 meters (13ft) tall, their speed vastly exceeded that of a human's, not giving a chance for the policemen to escape.

Swinging their weapons in their hands, the aliens had bloodthirsty looks in their triangular-shaped faces, as they excitedly opened their mouths and laughed excitedly as they attacked the humans in front of them.

Heads were instantly separated from the policemen's bodies the moment that the swords and daggers connected with their targets, as bright red blood started to spurt through the air like a fountain.

Everyone watched this scene with looks of horror in their eyes, while the policemen's heads had the same looks of terror on their faces even after their deaths!

Complete silence immediately filled the bus station while even the remaining policemen seemed to have been petrified, unable to move even a single step while their feet had already started to tremble from fear.

Staring at the gigantic bloodthirsty beasts in front of them that seemed to be more than twice their size and couldn't be harmed even by bullets, the policemen's fear had turned almost tangible at this point, as despair started to grip their hearts.

Thud!

The sound of a handgun falling to the ground immediately attracted everyone's attention, as a policeman could no longer handle it before he shouted out loudly

''I-I'm out of here!''

''M-me too!''

Although it was just one person who had started this, a chain reaction quickly followed after the first person run away, as the policemen all entered their cars one after the other and instantly sped up, trying to escape as far away as possible from the bus station!

The civilians' faces instantly turned pale upon seeing this scene.

However, the huge aliens didn't seem to move, as they allowed the policemen to do as they pleased with the same cruel smiles on their faces.

Arthur and Leonard, as well as the rest of the people around them, all felt a shiver down their spine when they saw the bloodthirsty looks on the purple monsters' faces, when a scene that was even more terrifying than the previous one actually took place.

The aliens in the sky that were holding the staffs in their hands suddenly started to chant something in a weird language, before fireballs, each one the size of an adult human's head appeared around their wooden staffs.

The dozens of fireballs flew in the air as they landed on each of the police cars that were speeding away, instantly bathing the vehicles into flames!

Some of the fireballs landed on the doors of the cars while others landed on their wheels, but the result was the same regardless of which part of the car was hit.

The policemen didn't even have enough time to stop the cars and get out before their cars immediately exploded the moment the fireballs touched them.

Arthur was staring at the scene of the beheaded policemen and the fireballs that had appeared out of thin air with a dazed look, when he suddenly felt a piercing gaze sweeping past his body, instantly waking him up.

Staring at the gigantic aliens in the sky that seemed to have turned their gazes in their direction with the same bloodthirsty looks as before, looking like they were staring at helpless prey that was doomed to die, Arthur and Leonard both shivered, before they instantly turned around and ran towards the business district behind them.

The remaining people around them did the same as well, trying to escape as far away from the terrifying purple aliens as possible.

However, even though this scene had taken a long time to describe it, the aliens had only taken a couple of seconds to kill every single one of the 60 policemen that had arrived at the scene before they turned their attention towards the civilians.

Staring at the hundreds of people that were spread around the bus station, the huge aliens licked their lips in excitement and revealed their rows of sharp teeth, before they suddenly moved towards them, plunging the bus station into a chaotic state.
