2 To The City

Skye found himself teleported into the middle of a grassland. There was green grass all around him up-to a few miles. In few places, the grasses had long stems with bushy red colored spikes at the end that resemble the tail of a fox. From far away the green and red colors created an image as if the grassland is a vast rose garden.

There was blue sky above him very clear and pure with only a few white clouds, the air was clean and he felt all the pores on his skin opening and trying to frantically breathe in the air , as much as they can. As if they were starving all their life and only now got the opportunity to eat. There was also some mystical energy in the air, he could feel it as he breathed in , his body was slowly becoming energized.

A few miles away he could see an outline of a city and thought of going there to find out more about what is happening. Just as he was about to start walking towards the city he realized that he was still naked.

" What the hell, was I naked the whole time ?" Skye said.

When the holographic screen popped up in front of him, he was in his shower, naked, and later he was just playing around and observing the screen and forgot about the timer and got teleported. From then on things became so overwhelming that he just forgot about his appearance

Embarrassingly Skye covered his mountain with his hands and immediately looked around him to see if there was anyone looking at him. Fortunately he was in a remote place all alone and he was saved from embarrassment. But he didn't want to be naked and he desperately searched around him, running here and there, looking for some large leaves to cover himself. But fate was not kind to him and teleported him to a grassland, there were not many trees here and none had large leaves.

Skye suddenly got an idea!, he went near a fox-tail looking grass and tried to pluck its long stem from the ground so that he could weave the grass into something like a men's boxer underwear. He tried plucking it normally but the grass didn't budge from its roots, he put a little more effort and it still was firmly fixed to the ground. To his surprise the grass was tough and firmly rooted to the ground that he had to put all his force to pull it out.

"Hmm...This is very strange grass. It looks very normal but how come it is so tough?" Skye thought to himself.

After almost 3 hours of continuous effort Skye could finally pull out a couple dozen fox-tail grass stems. At the end he exhausted all the energy in his body and collapsed on the ground. He felt sore in his arms and legs, even his back muscles got very tight. Unable to sit-up, he just laid there resting.

" If just plucking grass stems took this much effort, I wonder how much strength it will take to cut down a tree" Skye thought to himself.

"It's surprising that even after all that I still haven't felt thirsty or gotten hungry. If this was Earth then I would have definitely gotten thirsty at-least a couple times. Is this a speciality of this planet ? EDEN huh ... it sure is interesting."

" I hope I am right and I wouldn't get hungry or thirsty, otherwise in this unknown environment, finding water and food sources would be very difficult. Even if I do find some, I wouldn't know if they are poisonous or not. "

"And this air is also strange. I just thought that the feeling I got initially was just a temporary feeling but after exhausting myself I can feel it more clearly. The air has some mystical energy constantly energizing me as I breathe." Skye could feel that if the air continuously nourishes him with this energy, then he could be back to full energy in just 10 or so minutes.

While he was resting he remembered the space-time orb mentioning about his life force and something about skills and attributes . Skye decided to check it once again and looked at his left forearm, sure enough there was the number 13512 written on it in a tiny font. Then he thought about his information screen and a holographic screen appeared in front of him . On it his information was written something like the character information of a game avatar.

"Hmm...assuming that a normal healthy human would have base stats at 10. I seems like since I did not keep my body fit, my physical attributes seem to be lower than a normal person. But unlike my physical attributes my intelligence and wisdom seems to be high, that is to be expected as I was studying in a top university, it is an indication that I am intelligent than normal person. "

"The thing I am more concerned about is the soul attribute. What it is and why is it so low ? and why do I have only 1 skill ?Is it because of my low luck or is everyone given only one skill when they are teleported ? and also what does this skill accretion even do ?". As soon as he thought this, the screen changed a little to describe the skill Accretion.

* Accretion - Gathers the Divine energy around you into your body and accumulates it. Speed of gathering and accumulation increases as you grow stronger.

" Ohhh….so this skill is the reason why I am feeling energized just by laying down and doing nothing. So the mysterious energy I was feeling, was the Divine energy, and this skill accumulates the divine energy inside me. It looks like a very good skill" Skye thought to himself and felt happy.

After a few minutes Skye regained his energy and started weaving the fox-tail grass stems into a boxer underwear. Since he was not skilled in weaving the final product came out to be shabby, but it did the necessary work of covering the important parts. Skye was embarrassed with his appearance but he had no other choice so, unwillingly, he started walking towards the city.

After a few miles of walking he spotted some people walking alone towards the city gate. He approached a man in white shirt, blue denim jeans and a blue blazer. He looked like an rich entrepreneur so Skye thought he might be approachable and went up to him.

" Hi, excuse me mister. Do you have a moment? " Skye said.

With a frown on his face ,the man looked up and down at Skye and said " I don't have any money" and walked away.

Taken aback by the reply Skye just stood, dazed for a moment and then had a small chuckle " I never thought I would get treated this way. I guess appearances do matter, even in EDEN" Skye thought laughing inwardly. He guessed he would be treated the same way no matter whom he approached so he just went along his journey towards the city. The closer he got to the city gates the more people he saw, everyone was walking alone so he guessed they were also similar to him, people who got teleported in-to this world.

People looked at him weirdly and avoided getting near him, they made an invisible wall of 3 meters radius around Skye and nobody came inside it. At the city gates everybody gathered and more and more people were coming and gathering. The gates were closed and 5 guards stood in front of the gates blocking people from coming near the gates.

The guards were 6 meters tall, had bulky body and they stood there like a statue, perfectly still. They had golden metal body armor on them and held a semi cylindrical golden shield in one hand and a body long black spear in the other. They had metal protection on their forearms and shin and wore black leather skirt and pants. The guards looked like a Greek mythological warrior and gave the impression of immense strength.

Someone courageously walked up-to the guards and asked them questions but there was no response. Seeing him other people followed and asked questions but everybody got treated the same way, there was no response. As more and more people gathered it slowly turned into shouts and protests towards the guards. They were demanding the guards to stop ignoring them, they were also demanding to allow them inside the city.

During all this process Skye was silently observing the City walls and gates. Suddenly bell sounds echoed from the city and the gates slowly opened a little and a person walked outside the city.
