143 Not One but Two Deadly Sins

"The younger Morrigan told us that a thief had stolen important items while setting the sins free in the tower," Jaybird reminded everyone. "She meant you, didn't she?"

Morrigan's smile only widened. It was a maniacal grin that caused Jaybird to step even further away from her.

"My other-selves and I have never seen eye to eye when it comes to managing this tower," she explained. "The sins are simply helping to ensure I come out on top."

A great amount of soul energy began to leak out of Morrigan, and it had such a powerful quality that Jaybird shuddered at it passed through him.

They all drew back from the Raven Queen's menacing aura.

"Here we go," Bulldog Alfie sighed.

"Did you really think it would go any other way?" Serenity chided him.

"A guy can dream, can't he?" he countered.

One by one they drew their weapons.
