2 Chapter 2: Preparing for Danger

We followed the maids that were leading us to our rooms. We're seperated to 3 groups so 12 candidates per group. I didn't know what was gonna happen to me that's the same for the other candidates. We're all quiet I observed the maid while following her lead, she has a dagger at her side, she has a long black hair, she was wearing a blue berret, crimson eyes, and she's wearing glasses, she's beautiful but other than that she's the only one with a distinct feature, she's like a leader of some sort. Then we're seperated again this time only one maid was assigned for two candidates, other than myself there was another candidate that was following the maid. It was a girl, she was wearing a jacket with a hood so it's hard to recognize, but I catched a glimpse of her face earlier and I can only say one word about her face she's a knockout. Then we saw a door, maybe it was our room? As we approached it I said something that made the hooded girl look at me.

"Looks like this is it." The hooded girl looked at me she must've heard me said that. Then the maid opens the door to our room for us.

Then the maid speaks after opening the door. "Please come in, await further details when the master summons you but for now please rest." The hooded girl came in first and I just followed her lead. We both came across a bewildering room, it was luxurious. Then the maid speaks again. "Please be nice to your roommate" And then the maid closed the door.

After the maid left, I inspected the room in case if there was a security camera, but so far I didn't find anything. An hour goes by, I noticed my roomate was just laying in her bed. Then I saw another door other than the entrance, I nervously tried to open it only to feel stupid. "Of course there would be a bathroom at a hotel suite." I sighed at myself and looked at my roommate, I told her that if she wanted to take a bath she can take one before me, but she didn't respond.

"Hey Hoodie Girl! Would you like to take a bath before me?" She didn't respond again so I tried to approached her. I saw her shivering, It must be from fear, she was crying, she must be unsure on what's gonna happen to her, then she suddenly hugged me when I was close, to my surprise, I was about to push her away but I knew what's happening with her, I understand the situation. I noticed that she looked like she was younger than me, so I took advantage of the situation and patted her head, the only words I can say at this point was. "Don't worry, It'll be alright." Then she suddenly speaks.

"Don't treat me like a child Dave" She took me by surprise there were only a few people who called me by that alias and one of them who is younger than me is my bestfriend when I was in kindergarden. I recognize the voice, but I do feel that something tells me that it's her. I was unsure of it but I decided to speak.

"Umm... Krystal is that you?" If it is her she must've recognized me earlier.

"Took you too long to recognize me dimwit~"

"Sorry..." After a slight moment I decided to speak again. "Do you want to take a bath first before me?"

"Yeah, I'll see you later, shout if you notice something or if you need me." Then she heads over to the shower room.

"But damn, that was one hell of a coincidence." sighs "So we just have to wait for orders"

I heard a knock, It was at the entrance door, it must be one of the maids or the other candidates, but I can't imagine the latter going here, because we were ordered to rest, but I also can't imagine the Gamemaster going to my room. But nonetheless I still opened the door. It was a maid, she looked around the room, then after a few moments she decided to speak.

"Where's your roommate?"

I replied with "She's showering why? Is the Gamemaster summoning us?"

"I'll wait for the both of you then, the master summons the both of you."

She waited in the room for about half an hour until Krystal decided to finish her shower.

"Please follow me." the maid was suggesting we hurry, is it because we're late? I wasn't sure.

While walking towards our destination, I explained everything to Krystal the situation, she just nodded at me, it looks like she understands me. Then we saw a door, the door's border was a crimson color it was majestic.

In that room we saw every candidate, I noticed the Gamemaster sitting from what seems to be a throne, in short it was like a meeting room, everyone was looking at us, of course it's because we're late. I took a seat beside Krystal we're both intimidated by the atmosphere, is it because we were late? No, it was because we're awaiting our fate. The Gamemaster has our lives at the palm of his hands.

The Gamemaster coughs and decided to speak. "So shall we start?" he started by handing every candidate a small textbook it was the guide he showed us earlier. "Let's start by picking your own class." He shows us three cards it all has a 7 point stat.

Physical- Atk:4 Mgc:2 Hp:1

Magical- Mgc:4 Hp:2 Atk:1

Tank- Hp:4 Atk:2 : Mgc:1

He gave everyone three cards then he speaks again. "First someone from that door will install a chip at the palm of your hand." he suddenly points his fingers towards a door at the corner of the room. "Second start by giving the scientist the card of your choice." He points towards the cards then he smiled at us. "Lastly the chip is a part of your body, everyone is forbidden from destroying the other candidate's chip." He paused for a little while. "It detects your Hp, it detects whether or not you're still breathing, if somehow your arm got cut off it'll automatically transport itself to another part of your body." then he paused a little again, then he decided to speak again. "How about we make a username for each and everyone of you? Start by choosing your own username after that it's forbidden to use your real name is that clear? Then he suddenly stands up, he starts to pace himself in the room.

I raised my hand because there was a concept that bothered me. "Umm... Gamemaster what's this about destroying the other candidates chip?"

Everyone including Gamemaster looked at me. "Hmm... Guess I didn't explain it specifically." he was somewhat bothered, but then after a short while he smiled at me, for a brief period of time he decided to answer my question. "Well in other words whoever damaged the other candidates chip will be punished if it was intentional and if it was an accident I will overlook it, I can look through memories and read minds no lies can pass through me. The reason the chip is important to the candidates and to me is because it can be used to communicate for example, I can message you via the chip for updates and for the importance for the candidates is also great. It will record your progress, in other words it's like a journal and also it will act as your inventory or bag as others call it. Do you have any more questions?"

"Ahm... Thanks for answering Gamemaster, but for now I can't think of another question that bothered me."

"Now shall we proceed in picking your username?"
