1 A Beginning

Thousands of years ago, a calamity struck the daily life of humanity. The law of physics bent and twisted for unknown reasons. Humanity entrusted their life to machine and electricity for their everyday life cease to stop working. There was essentially no robotics to build their manufacture, there was no way to instantly communicate with one other, there was no way to farm for food to support billions of people without the help of technology, and any information that was stored in the virtual world was forever lost along with their technological advancement.

Without instant communication, there was no one to tell them how to handle the situation.

Without a voice of a leader to hear, the people acted on their own desired ignoring the needs of others.

Without enough food to go around, they stole food from others who have them.

Without an adequate amount of drinkable water, the rich hold it like it was gold. Eventually, the poor kill the rich and drank all the water until there was none left.

No matter what scientists tried to do to bring back electricity, there were no solutions.

In the end, the world was in chaos without a direction.

It was an era known as the Empty-Light Era.

Eventually, diseases and war ran rampant. The peaceful life felt like it will never happen again as mayhem spread all over the globe. Those who were kind dead early and those who are wicked take advantage of those who are kind.

Eventually, the once population in the billions was dropped into the low millions over the centuries.

As the population drastically went down, the better the outlook for humanity was. It was not until the usage of steam that bought stability around the world for centuries.

Although the technology utilizing steam was very limited compared to electricity, it was a still a chance to regain a peaceful life without much hardship.

The peaceful era lasted for more than five centuries. It reached the point that mankind was able to obtain its past glory only to have it taken it away once again.

When the voice that traveled through time and space laid down a single message for every being on earth.

"Everything breaks through time and scrambled throughout the infinite space. Those who lived to see the next day will see what they see yesterday. Those who lived to be alive will see what it means to see the beginning."

As the voice said its last world, the world changed for the worst once again. A thousand giant spikes descended from the heavens and pierced the earth. The speed of the spikes slamming into the earth caused shockwaves that spread throughout the world.

Many tsunamis formed swallowing lands.

The wind boomed causing mountains to crumbles.

The ground split creating deep wounds.

The world was once again thrown into chaos, but this time, it was seen as a divine punishment.

They believe that the voice was their god who wishes to destroy the sins of mankind, The Almighty.

However, there were humans who did not think of it as a divine punishment, but a trial set by The Almighty.

Hence, there were those who chose to die and those who chose to survive.

Over time, the population dwindled to barely in the hundreds of thousands. It was a harsh life as they live each day to survive against the elements and famish.

It wasn't until the giant spikes from all over the world began to vibrate that mankind began to see a hope of a better future.

The spikes calmed the sea, thus, revealing more lands.

Life began to evolve quicker than ever as the spikes continue to vibrate for years without ends. Species that can rival human intelligent began to walk the earth. Lushes greens spread throughout the lands and wildlife populated the world once again.

When the spikes stop vibrating a hundred years ago, humans were the first one to explore it. They found out that the spikes were not a solid object but it was a tower filled with monsters. The tower was deemed the Almighty tower.

When the first person came out of the tower alive with an object with unimaginable strength, he became the first king to rule over thousands of people even since the voice of the Almighty. The magical artifacts were called the relic of the universe, or rotu. Since then, many wanted to challenge the tower for the chance of glory.

Many had failed, and the few who haven't succumb to death became a legend.

Afterward, those who would risk their lives to challenge the tower for magical artifacts, rotu, and for glory were called rogue.

In one of the Almighty tower where the sky was red the raging flame underneath filled with the stench of death.

Four people ventured through a ruined city.

It was after several days inside the tower that they reached the final floor.

The person at the forefront, the vanguard, was covered in thick armored from head to toe. He was a ranked 3 rogue, Buskly. He became ranked up to 3 after completing a tower that had 8 floors.

"Don't worry Maeryn. As long as I am here, no one can touch you." Buskly said the blond girl behind him.

Behind him were a male and a female. They both have same color hair and eyes and other features. It was because they were fraternal twins. They were both ranked 2 rogues, but they had the potential to become rank 3 easily.

"Right, just protect me, and I will give you present." Maeryn winked in a flirty mannered towards Buskly.

"You two should focus instead of flirting." The serious next to him was Maeryn's brother, Edryd.

"Don't worry, as long as you have the famous rogue, Unlimited, we are totally safe from harm." Maeryn looked at the person behind her giving him a thumbs up.

"It is best not to let your guard down. I might have the strength to protect myself, but I can't say I'm confident that I can protect you guys. So, try not to relax too much while we are in the tower." The person that everybody in the group relied on was the famous rogue, Lyn, the Unlimited.

He got the nickname Unlimited after clearing a rank-4 tower, which had 11 floors, and obtaining one of the first deity rotu, that granted him a unique ability unlike anything else.

Rotu were what drive rogue to explore the tower and what gave them the power to challenge the tower.

Regular rotu were commonly seen and they will the user magical ability or enhancement.

But compared to Lyn's deity rotu ability, normal rotu ability are underwhelming.

Normally, when one cleared a tower by completing the final floor, they are blessed by the Almighty which allowed them to use an additional rotu depending on the rank of the tower.

If the rank of the tower was one, then once they completed it, they will able to use one relic of the universe. And so on.

Thanks to the deity rotu, Upper Limit, which allowed Lyn to utilized double the amount rotu that other rogues in the same rank as him can. Since Lyn was a rank 4 rogue, he will be able to use 4 rotu, but thanks to Upper Limit, he can use 8.

Lyn got the nickname Unlimited thanks to the increase of rotu he can use at any given instance. Although, it was not unlimited like his nickname suggested, but to other people, it seemed like he did.

The group of four walked until they reached a giant metal door with a picture of a lion, a goat, and a snake.

The four took a deep breath before they opened the metal door.

The metal door creaked opened as a flurry of ominous wind rushed out like a typhoon.
