Rise of Immortals

Seconds after the system voice stopped Mark was still dumbfounded.

"Create a game a sell it to 100 people in a two weeks?!

Muri! Muri! Muri! Muri!"

"System, is it okay to give such a hard quest to as a beginner quest!!? How can I create a Video Game and sell it to 100 people in only two weeks?"

"Can I refresh the quest? Give me something easier!"

~I'm sorry host , but the system cannot change the quest details . ~

"Damn it! I just got the system, I was on my way to glory and now you tell me I will lose the system if I fail this quest!?"

"No!! I got to think of something , think Mark ... think !"

Lily who was now sipping happily on her coffee noticed that Mark had a distracted look on his face.

She thought that maybe he is worried whether doing this will be a waste of time. She knew Mark since they were kids and she was there for him when his parents passed away.

Also she did have some feelings for Mark, something a bit more than friendship, but Mark always treated her as his little sister. That is not what she wanted.

- Listen Mark, i know this might have been a hard decision for you, i know you were saving those money in case you had to close the cafe, and although i am not 100% sure this is going to work i am willing to support you like i always had. Try to think positive.

Mark looked at Lily a little confused.... He did not know what she was talking about. Mark was concerned with not being able to finish the quest that the system just issued.

"What is she saying? " Thought Mark

~ Host, your expression earlier was really unsightly , probably giving miss Lily the wrong impression~

" Unsightly? Are you making fun of me? Hpff ! Isn't this because of you!! If you would have agreed to change the mission, would I give her the wrong impression? This is giving me to much of a headache…"

While Mark was talking with the system in his mind Lily was still trying to comfort Mark about using his saved money to turn the internet café into a game café.

"Sorry Lily, I was thinking about something else, and of course I'm thinking positively. Since now I have the computers i was wondering what kind of game to make.

"Ahh so you were thinking what kind of game to create…I'm sorry Mark, I thought you were feeling down because I convinced you to spend your money on my silly idea." Said Lily with a voice as quiet as a mosquito.

For the moment Mark did not tell Lily about the system. Also since he receive " old Mark's " memories he knew that he can trust her but he decided to wait for a bit longer.

Mark also knew that Lily was attracted to him romantically, or more exactly the old him, but now Mark is himself.

Yes, he has the memories but that is that. Mark considered it no more than information for his new life, which is also the reason he was hesitating whether to tell Lily or not.

"I indeed have thought of something. I want to create a MMORPG called Rise of Immortals, what do you think about it about this?

"Hmmm, not a bad name, but creating an MMORPG from scratch is a lot of work. Are you sure you can handle it alone?"

"This…" Mark indeed did not think that he could do this alone in such a short period of time.

"Maybe i can help you. Do you remember how you always came to me to make your stories for the little games you made in high school?"

"It can be the same now. I can help you create the stories of characters in the game and the factions background."

Mark thought for a moment if he should accept Lily's help or not.

If he involved Lily, she would find out about the system one way or the other.

He wanted a bit more time to think so he told Lily that he will first make the game and think about the stories and factions later.

Seeing that Mark did not say yes to her request to help him she was a little disappointed but she quickly regain her confidence.

Although he did not say yes he also did not reject me. Maybe he indeed wants to just focus on creating the game first and he will leave the rest to me afterwards" thought Lily.

It was already getting a bit late when the two of them finished talking so after Lily left Mark went back to his room upstairs and laid on the bed.

He remembered he still had one reward that might be able to help him finish this task in time.

"System, I want to use the basic game development information!"

"Get ready? Get ready for wha...at?"

Mark was surprised by the system's statement but just when he was about to ask more he felt a headache comparable to the one that he had when receiving his memories.

It took about 15 minutes for the headache to pass but now mark had a sparkle in his eyes.

"I can do this, i did not expect this much information to be included in the basics. With this I can create an above average game in about a week and still have time to promote it. I can finish this mission" Mark thought.

"It is still not too late so I can start right now."

And so Mark moved one of the 2 PC's he had left to his room and started to work on programming the game.

With the information and experience he received from the system reward his hands moved like lightning on the keyboard.

If someone were to see Mark right now, they would think Mark is some professional hacker or he has been single since birth by the speed that his hands moved with.

About 5 in the morning Mark was too tired to continue so he went to sleep, But not before he sent Lily a message saying that he won't be opened in the morning.
