The two monsters in human skin clash with each other. Trading punches and kicks, with the boy slipping in and out of the wild and strong attacks of the girl.

"Don't you have a bedtime princess?" He quipped with a smirk and his arm hanging inside his kimono.

The girl stopped her attack and said coldly "I am a creature of the night. Besides I will be done with you quickly." With a rush they begin attacking again, however this time it's clear the young boy is being pushed back every clash.

He ducks under a kick aimed at his head and slams his shoulder into her body flinging her onto the ground for only a second before she pushes herself back avoiding a stomp.

"Okay, that's enough now. I've seen how strong you are, and although you would be an excellent pet your strength is too weak." A blood red energy begins to cover over her arms and legs as she gets into a stance again.

"That's kinda unfair don't you think? I'm alr fighting at a handicap by not having a sword." He pulls his arm out of his kimono and gets into a boxing stance.

She vanishes appearing behind him swinging her fist cracking his rib. Using the force of the punch he spins around on the sole of his back foot slamming a right hook into her chin.

Moka's leg raises faster than he could see and kicks into his chest sending him into the monkey bars.

"This is touki. How could someone who can't even use senjutsu..dare to call me their equal." Moka claims weakly in between her heavy breathing.

"I see." Unlike his previous demeanor Ryou is silent and stands slowly.

Small arcs of lightning crackle on the surface of his skin, and his grin returns after spitting out a spat of blood.

"Ptooh. Alright, let's go again." Moka stands prepared, and Ryou advances as the same speed as before.

They begin trading blows again with Moka keeping the advantage using touki. She punches him in the face taking a direct blow to the gut in the process.

After he is sent flying again, Moka recognizes a pain similar to an electric current moving through her body.

"Weird…but far too weak to stop me!" Her body became more stiff and rigid, but using senjustsu she eased it out.

Popping up from the floor once more Ryou smiles widely, and shouts out "I see. So it's like this!" Soon one of his hands are covered in a thin golden layer that is unmistakably touki or something similar.

"Wha- how?!" She stares at him in disbelief and he just laughs before he teased "Just know your soul has just as much information in it as your brain."

As they gear up for another round Ryou checks his phone and says "Oh shit! I'm supposed to be home by 6:00 and it's already 6:15!" He looks up at her conflicted.

"Just get out of here." She sighs and begins to go home herself.

"Thanks! This was fun so let's do it again." Seemingly oblivious to how badly he's wounded.

And they leave the park a destroyed remnant of what it once was.

-1st pov Ryou-

While walking away my form reverts to normal as a huge wave of exhaustion comes over me.

That was a huge catch! I didn't even know there was a magic system using the chakra's or whatever here.

Using the current I sent into Moka's body I was able to quickly study and replicate not just how you use ki, but also the way she used it for touki or whatever technique that made her stronger.

Can't believe she gave me something like that for free. Only costed me a bit of blood and bruises.

Opening the door to the house it's oddly silent and the only person I see is grandpa's silhouette beyond the door. No other youkai is in sight.

"Uh gramps? Sorry for being late, but I'm here. When does training start?" The silhouette turns to face me and soon a voice is heard throughout the house.

"Now ." As soon as he says that three different Youkai pop out of the bushes with clubs-

CRASH

I barely dodged out of the way as they hit the empty space. Since when were they ever this strong??

"You are now fighting a youkai commander, prepare to face the entire army." His voice sounded like it came from everywhere at once and even I couldn't decipher from where.

I rush away from the three men and burst into the room only to see…ah shit.

"Sorry young master, but you're gonna have to face me." Aotabō said grinning while he cracks his knuckles.

"You don't look sorry." Just to have Aotabō laugh in return.

Aotabō punches into my chest practically piercing through my guard and sending me back out onto the front yard.

I pick myself back up and charge Aotabō feinting a hook only to kick his calf using touki on my foot sending Aotabō into a spin crashing into the floor.

Using touki I go to stomp on Aotabō, but I have to raise my foot into order to deflect the weighted chain flying towards me.

Using this time Aotabō sweeps my remaining leg and grabbing me by my shirt before I can reach the floor.

"See ya young master!" Aotabō begins to hurl me across the estate, but just after he releases me I use my leg to kick him in the face with touki sending him into a wall.

"Dammit how do I land?!" Looking down I watch as the ground gets closer and closer.

Ok ok ok, just use touki on both legs and go into a roll it's that simple! Falling through the air I put my plan into action pushing all my energy into my feet.

Craack

Hitting the ground I feel my energy depletes and I take the rest of the impact falling into a kneel on the grass.

I stare at my foot slightly bent in an abnormal manner. Punching the ground I look around to see what my next play would be.

Just then I see a mission pop up.

Survive Commander Training

Nurarihyon has realized your goal to fight, recruit, and stay around strong, unique people. Not wanting this to get you killed he decided that you are strong enough to hold your own against him.

Win condition: Become strong enough to face off against Nurarihyon and your father's night parade of a hundred demons, or strong enough to beat him before they all defeat you.

General reward: One wish from Nurarihyon

Failure punishment: Sealing of (Night form) for 2 weeks

Laughter reverberated throughout the night as Ryou grew into his night form once more.

"I accept. Now show me what's up gramps!" With his challenge out into the world Kubinashi appears from behind a building alongside a group of frogs holding spears.

"My apologies Master I never thought I would deploy the Ōgama squad against you…hopefully Rihan can forgive me." Kubinashi looks up into the sky solemnly.

"Are you looking down on your new master? I give you more than enough permission to fight me at your fullest, and I won't accept anything less than that Kubinashi!" I prepare for the jumping of my life and look ahead towards him.

Kubinashi nods and waves his hand causing the ōgama squad to send out their tongues to grab me.

I swiftly avoid the hydra of tongues moving closer to them before sidestepping a thin thread that carved the ground beneath where I stood.

For the rest of the night I faced off against different members of the house before coming into a losing battle and retreating.

At last when it's about sun up and I can barely retain my night form I hear his voice again in my mind.

"Every night we will do this again, and again. When you defeat a general you will have them join your side the next night. Until then you must learn how to face off against enemies who all fight in different styles. Everyday we will start at 7:00 have a good day at school." And then it became eerily quiet without a single person in sight.

And just like he said it happened every night again and again for 5 years.
