2. Ways of Survival

Noel made his way towards another tall tree and started climbing it. The tree was about 30 meters tall and Noel had a hard time climbing it to one of the top branches. He could only reach up to 25m high as there was no way to climb further. His experience in the game pushed through as he knew how to properly climb a tree through his adventures.

Luckily he could get some view of his surroundings near the top of the tree, although there were some trees as tall as the one he was standing on, he could get some view and make out the area around him.

After getting a good look around him, he started making his way towards the north as he could see a hill right there and a clearing of trees. He decided to go in that direction.

After an hour of carefully and cautiously walking through the forest, he could hear the sounds of water. While munching on the berries he got on the way to replenish his hunger stats. He started walking faster to reach the place of rushing water as he could hear the sound more clearly as he moved further.

Noel exits the forest and reaches the bank of a river that's about 5m in width. The water was flowing slowly towards the right side. The river was clear and not too deep as he could look into the clear water. Noel looked around and found a good long stick which he stabbed into the water. Noel took out the stick and found out that the water was about 3 ft deep looking at the watermark on the stick.

These types of the essential lookout and survival things were knowledge he learned after his years of playing in the game. Noel had to survive as a roaming wanderer like the other common people who lost their first lives.

Noel needs to prepare the basic things needed for survival.

1. Water

2. Food

3. Tools For Self-Defense

4. Shelter

These 4 things are needed for survival in any situation. and right now Noel has secured food as he has 2 sets of berries in his inventory. And the water from the river looks clean enough to drink as Noel could see some deers drinking water in the distance.

Trying to peer into the water so that there aren't any alligators or other wild predators nearby, Noel went closer as he leaned down to look at his face. He had black hair with a good hairstyle, black eyes, and a handsome face. Noel looked exactly like he remembered and the character in Galaxy Wars was as same as their original appearance and no one could change that. He was not the most handsome but handsome enough to turn some heads to look his way and steal glances.

After collecting water using some big leaves to make a small basket from the trees nearby, Noel started walking in the direction of the water flow. While walking although he could see some fish in the river he didn't try to catch them as it could make him wet and was not worth the hassle as being cold in the wild can lead to potential death.

Picking up a stone with a sharp edge along the way and a firm stick in his hand Noel started scraping off the edge of the stick to make it sharp like a spear. It took him 5 mins to make the spear using the stone and he kept it in his storage while vigilantly looking at the trees and the water to not get caught off guard by any wild animals.

Due to his previous knowledge, he was able to create a good spear that exceeds the current tutorial stage of the game. Now with a weapon acquired Noel resumed his journey along the river.

4 Hours Later...

After an exhausting walk along the river, Noel finally found some fruit trees that he was familiar with in his past life. Noel lets out a sigh, "Man Although I knew the map was big, I've been walking for so long that I haven't seen any villages yet. Maybe I should have gone the other direction?"

That's right his goal was to find a village before the day ends and following the river was the easiest way to find any settlement. But since he came this way he can't backtrack his way back as that would not be worth it and he might have to camp outside.

2 Hours Later...

It was starting to get dark as the sun was setting towards his back as his journey to the west continued. Suddenly Noel notices smoke trial in the distance as it was a sign of the fire that might lead to a village.

Gritting his teeth and his walking with his sore legs Noel started approaching the sign of smoke. Noel was cautiously looking around to see any visible signs of humans. Because it might not be a normal village and could be bandits or barbarian outpost.

When he could finally see the village Noel looked around and could finally lift the burden off his shoulders as this was a normal village since he could see children roaming about and the village getting together to cook food in the center.

Noel looked around a little more to look for any signs of bandits, but since there was nothing to be found he made his way towards the village entrance.

Noel walked through the entrance and made his way to the center. Almost everyone was gathered at the center where the cooking was going on. As he approached the people started noticing him. They spread out made way for him to the center, where a wrinkly bald old man with a long white beard with a cane was waiting for him.

The old man turned back and looked at Noel as he said "Welcome to Stone Village, our fated one. My name is Mace and I'm the village chief.

Noel was taken aback a little by the people, how welcoming they were, and all that prepared food was for him. But he knew the concept of this. This village and any other village that the players meet on this tutorial had a timer. These villagers had to wait for a fated one to come and save the village from a pre-ordained disaster. The sooner the fated one comes to the village the higher the chances that the villagers survive as they cannot eat food till the player arrives as directed by the system which was their diety. The more people are alive in the village the more it is helpful in surviving the tutorial with better rewards at the end.

In his previous life, even the top-ranked player only reached the village on Day 3, and Noel reaching the village on Day 1 was a new experience that even he didn't know about and the things that were about to happen.

But the one thing Noel knew was that if players reach the village they have to help the village survive a crisis that the village will go through on the last Day 7th.
