17 Chapter 17: A Pleasant Surprise.

Our ship was under siege for not too long, around 5 minutes or so, when the Deep Scavenger is chasing after us. They shot us relentlessly using their lasers but fortunately for us, Gaidos is an expert at maneuvering the entire ship. There's not a single laser that caught us in any part of the ship.

I latch my suit to a rope in the ship and then told Victor and Thea "Make sure that the rope that's holding me isn't loose. I don't want to be left alone in the space after all."

Seeing that I'm planning to do some probing using my Dark Ray, the two nodded in obligation and then waited for their turn while holding onto the rope that's holding my body.

I waited before opening the door. Hearing the sound of laser whizzing by the ship... I waited for the pattern to stop and upon hearing there's no more sound of whizzing going by, I open the door and then jump out and activate my thruster to push me back so that I am moving along with the ship...

Victor and Thea keep their hands on my rope but yet to pull me in. So, I immediately lined the gun with one of the ship that's directly behind my ship... In my eyes, they're the dangerous ship that I feel like have the best chance of damaging my ship.

I aimed my Dark Ray and then pull the trigger on the gun... Not caring about what happened next which is a massive explosion triggered by a massive Dark Energy Laser being shot through the first ship and doing a collateral to the ship behind them as well...

That explosion, triggered a few chain explosion... But the Pirates didn't seem to be hindered by it at all. Since they keep on chasing after us and then started another barrage of laser...

It was then, I signaled toward Victor and Thea to pull me into the ship once again by my sight.

They pulled me in and I immediately put my Dark Ray away as it needed to charge the shot once again.

"Victor, Thea. It's your turn. Gaidos, make a sudden drop in speed and turn the ship entrance toward them."

"Understood!"

"Noted, Captain."

I have planned what our next course of action be. That is, immediate frontal attack!

Space Pirates behind us keep pressing their numbers and shoot their lasers... Gaidos keep moving the ship masterfully and making sure that the laser isn't hitting any of us and even utilizing the laser launcher on our ship to launch a counterattack to further make sure that nothing will hit our ship...

Then, the moment we heard the laser stopped shooting... Gaidos immediately slam on the break and then that sudden change in speed, causes the ship that's chasing after us, split into two in order not to crash into our ship...

"NOW!" I screamed toward Victor and Thea. They both put on their mask and then the entrance opened... Victor and Thea made their presence known.

The Pirates recognize them both and immediately panicked... Their ship, that they had turned around to face me once again, started to turn away once again trying to run away...

But, I open up the Ship System and control all the guns...

I manually aimed through all of the weapon and then shoot a lot of warning shot. Aiming my shots right on the course of their movement and forcing them to stop moving because they risk getting shot by my laser...

Then, I grab my Dark Ray once again and then stood still and aimed it, waiting for Victor and Thea to finish their job first...

Victor is in the very front, hiding Thea right behind him masterfully. She moved quickly and keep tailing Victor close by. With her body type, it's easy for her to assimilate herself with Victor presence.

He is imposing and big. While Thea is the opposite.

While they're moving closer to the ship, the space pirates decided that facing then face on is the best course of action.

"I never thought that we will be facing the captain of the Abyssal Null Knight!" One of the pirates stated toward Victor. Then, he followed up with "But, didn't you fail your task of doing what Mother Nihility ask you to?"

Victor bites on the talk and replied cockily "At least my merits in the Interstellar Ark is a lot more noteworthy than you lot being in a space pirates legion. Even if I die to them, I at least leave something for the new generation of knights to remember. The Strongest Captain of the Abyssal Null Knight!"

Victor swing his sword casually and were block by that particular pirates, the other pirates immediately raise their laser gun and then aimed it toward Victor...

"Come on now. Whenever I'm around, don't you know that the Black Flash is around too?"

"Ah shit."

Suddenly, Thea appear from behind the space pirates, unbeknownst to anyone even me.

Even I was shook. Her movement is quick to the point that I cannot see her...

"She assimilate herself with the darkness of space and use the presence of Victor to hide her own presence... Now, she's on the offense." That's the simplest observation I could make.

Victor ducked and then create a perfect line of sight to the guy he exchanged worth with. So, I adjust the power of the Dark Ray and then shoot the minimal amount of power toward him.

"Unfortunate for you, my captain now is a very expert at calculating and fighting long range you know?" As soon as Victor says that, the man head was pierced with a dark energy and then his body started to get bigger and then ruptured...

"Captain, you could tune down your ability a bit, don't you?" Thea made her remark after she unleashed an energy slash from her sword that slashed everyone in half in one swoop.

I made my way toward them and then engage in a bit of silly conversation. "Says the lady who sliced everyone mercilessly while they're not looking and focused on my Rupture Shot. My rupture shot isn't that messy compared to you."

"Well, I deliver a much more painless death to my opponent, Captain."

After bantering a bit, Victor shows his ability which instantly crush their ships away and then we went back to our ship after a successful show of a decent teamwork. It's not really an advance teamwork, but our opponent is not really the best so it doesn't take much to destroy them...
