196 The Darkness is Tempting

The book was heavy in Angela's hands. And it wasn't because it was a hardcover. She knew it was something else that made her heart beat faster as she clutched the book.

Since Gael came back, they hadn't talked about the book, and she was glad that he didn't bring it up again. See, it wasn't just Gael's persona she wrote in the book. She wrote about herself too, but no one else knew that except her—well, and Nina and partly her brother. But they never talked about it. It was a silent agreement that they wouldn't bring that up. And she sure wouldn't be talking about it with Gael.
