22 Yue Yang vs Xue Wu Xia (2)

After a brief of thinking, Yue Yang immediately summoned his [Shadow Clones] to protect him from Xue Wu Xia's attack. He need a bit of time to summoned her summoning grimoire since he doesn't had 'instant summoning' ability yet.

The two [Shadow Clones] immediately dash toward Xue Wu Xia to attracted her attention and gave Yue Yang some times.

Not too long after that, Xue Wu Xia able to defeat them since her ability was too strong for them to handle, though thankfully Yue Yang managed to summoned his grimoire.

Seeing Yue Yang summoning his grimoire the whole crowd were excited and curious since Yue Yang never summoned it in the previous match. They can't wait to see what kind of guardian beast that he possessed since it was announced that he just managed to contracted grimoire.

Immediately after that, Yue Yang summoned [Esdeath] in front of thousands spectators. They can't help to exclaimed in awe since it was turn out that his guardian beast initial rank was gold rank, same with Princess Qian Qian and Xue Wu Xia.

Morover, his guardian beast possessed a humanoid figured. She possessed human figure coupled with a snow white wolf ear and tails, and her whole body was covered in wolf fur. In addition, her eyes also reflected intelligent that indicated that she was not too far from being a holy beast.

"[Esdeath], I want you to deal with that girl and her summoning beast. Don't injure her, just try to made her thrown outside the ring if you had a chance, I'll also assist you. Oh, and here I'll lend you [Yubashiri] as your weapon", order Yue Yang while he take out a katana from out of nowhere.

[Esdeath] nodded her head while she take the katana from Yue Yang's hand. As usual, her expression was cold and indifferent even in front of his master.

[Esdeath] immediately dash toward Xue Wu Xia to confront her while at the same time she waved her hand with simple gesture to used her ability, 'Weissschnabel' (White Mouth). Suddenly, several icicles was created from thin air and she fires them at Xue Wu Xia and her beast.

Initially, Xue Wu Xia was cautios in front of Yue Yang's guardian beast, but after seeing that it was ice type beast, she was relax a bit. Her guardian beast possessed the characteristics of ice, thus attack that made from ice usually will be nullified, unless the gap between the beast was too large. This was not the case this time since both Yue Yang and Xue Wu Xia's guardian beasts were both at the gold rank, thus Xue Wu Xia was confident that her beast will be able to cope with the attack.

Xue Wu Xia herself was also proficient in ice type technique, and attack with ice characteristics was the least of her worry. Instead she was more cautious toward Yue Yang since he was proficient in close combat technique to the point of defeating Qian Qian, since melee physical attack was her weakness.

Her guess was quite spot on since Yue Yang was right behind [Esdeath] to personally confront Xue Wu Xia.

Yue Yang summoned [Shadow Clones] to assisted him while he himself was personally confronted Xue Wu Xia like what he did to Princess Qian Qian.

He know that he will not be able to defeat Xue Wu Xia alone, thus his task right now was to occupied Xue Wu Xia while waiting for [Esdeath] to defeat 'Blizzard Lady'. After [Esdeath] defeat her, then she and Yue Yang will gang up Xue Wu Xia together.

While Yue Yang made Xue Wu Xia busy, [Esdeath] was in the middle of fight with 'Blizzard Lady'. Xue Wu Xia's guess was spot on that [Esdeath] deal minimal damage toward 'Blizzard Lady' since her guardian beast possessed ice characteristic.

However, Xue Wu Xia didn't take in account that [Esdeath] was different from other beasts. Unlike the majority of contracted beasts that need to be trained from early in order to become proficient in battle along with their master, [Esdeath] possessed individual battle instinct that was honed by countless battle.

Aside from her ice ability, she was a bloodthirsty sadist that proficient in wielding blades. Even if her ice ability was useless, her strong physical ability along with her battle sense was enough to overwhelmed her opponents.

Not too long after both of them confronted each others, it was quite clear that 'Blizzard Lady' was start to getting cornered.

Yue Yang know that this was [Esdeath] playing around, since he know that her combat ability was much stronger.

She was living up to her name [Esdeath] that screamed 'S desu!', which means 'I am an S', though Yue Yang hope that she finished playing around to immediately assisted him defeat Xue Wu Xia.

Meanwhile Xue Wu Xia was getting worried. Like Yue Yang, she was hoping that her guardian beast will defeated [Esdeath] and immediately aid her defeat Yue Yang. She was initially quite confident since 'Blizzard Lady' can easily cope with ice type attack, but looks like ske was too naïve.

It was quite clear that [Esdeath] was different from other humanoid beasts. She was very proficient in close combat quarter and her senses in battle was also strong. Sooner or later her guardian beast will be defeated.

After a bit of thinking, Xue Wu Xia decided to abandoned her initial plan to defeat [Esdeath] first, it was better if her guardian beast attacked Yue Yang together with her. At least in this case, [Esdeath] will be forced to protected Yue Yang since he was weaker than her guardian beast.

After receiving her master's order, 'Blizzard Lady' then immediately abandoned her battle with [Esdeath] to directly attacked Yue Yang.

However, how could [Esdeath] possibly allowed her prey to get away from her. Thinking that 'mere' pray actually dare to ignored their battle to deal with her master was an insult to her.

As an 'S', [Esdeath] was quite frustrated that she possessed a master above her that order her around. However, some sort of mechanism bounded her to Yue Yang permanently, and quite possibly it was impossible to break away from him.

That's why she was very harsh on Yue Yang during their spar, to the point that Yue Yang's life will be in danger if he doesn't possessed many food items to heal his body.

[Esdeath] doesn't possessed any memory from her previous life, but she still remember her abilities and possessed the same personality as Esdeath in Akame ga Kill. Thus, she was lacked empathy for people whom she deem weak since she live by philosophy of 'The strong survive and the weak die'. This made her very dissatisfied toward Yue Yang since her master was very weak.

Thankfully, at least his master had motivation to get stronger by diligently training and spar with her, thus bit by bit her attitude toward Yue Yang was better.

Since she can't get away from Yue Yang, [Esdeath] swore to herself that the day she was defeated in combat by Yue Yang, she will wholeheartedly serve Yue Yang and give him her utmost loyalty.

That's why she was enraged that her prey dare to abandoned their sacred battle and target her master. In the state of rage, [Esdeath] immediately leaked out her killing intent, thus petrified 'Blizzard Lady'. After all, [Esdeath] had killed numerous strong people and danger beasts in her previous life, thus her killing intent managed to made 'Blizzard Lady' shaking in fear.

This killing intent was also felt by Xue Wu Xia and made her face pale even though she didn't directly received it. After all even though she was a genius, she was still inexperienced in the matter of killing.

Some of the experts with keen senses such as emperor Jun Wu You, elder Yue Hai, and other elders were also able to felt how scary the killing intent that leaked from [Esdeath]

While her face was pale, Xue Wu Xia can't help but wondered, how is this possible that Yue Yang's guardian beast possessed such thick and strong killing intent?

This was only possible in case the guardian beast was getting through countless battles, but Yue Yang only managed to recently contracted grimoire, so it was impossible.

While Xue Wu Xia was stunned, [Esdeath] immediately attacked 'Blizzard Lady' with [Yubashiri], thus immediately incapacitated her since she was stunned silly without any defense.

In any case 'Blizzard Lady' was a guardian beast with height over dozens meter made from ice, thus shortening her height by cutting her limbs shouldn't be too fatal.

Right after [Esdeath] immobilize 'Blizzard Lady', Yue Yang immediately order her to direct her killing intent toward Xue Wu Xia directly. Although this will be quite scary experience for her, this was necessary if he want to defeat Xue Wu Xia without injured her.

"!?, let me go!", shout Xue Wu Xia while she struggle in his arms after she realize her current predicament.

As a result of Xue Wu Xia's violent struggle, she was fall from the ring right to the ground several meter below, resulting in her landed in her buttock.

Xue Wu Xia was grimaced in pain while at the same time glared angrily at Yue Yang direction.

"I told you that you shouldn't struggle too much, see, now you hurt your ass", said Yue Yang.

Hearing the word 'ass' only serve to made Xue Wu Xia more angry, thus she suddenly stood up and huff angrily while at the same time recalled back her guardian beast before walk away from this ruffian.

Seeing this Yue Yang can only smile helplessly. He turn his gaze toward the referee while he also recalled [Esdeath] back to his grimoire.

"Please announced the result", said Yue Yang.

"Ah, oh yeah. Ahem, with this I hereby announced that the match between young mistress Xue Wu Xia and the third young master end with young master Yue Yang's win!", shout the referee toward crowds.

After that the crowds immediately bursting loudly. They can't help but marvelled at the match between Yue Yang and Xue Wu Xia, especially Yue Yang's guardian beast [Esdeath]. Aside from her ice ability, the crowds were more impressed by her battle senses and killing intent. They can't help but questioning how is it possible that a newly summoned guardian beast capable to had such thick killing intent.

"Brother Hai, this grandson of yours just keep giving me surprise today. How is it possible that his guardian beast possess such thick killing intent. He should just recently summoned her right?", ask emperor Jun Wu You in wonder.

Their surroundings were also perk up their ears to hear the answer.

"Ah, actually I also just know this recently from Ah-Xian, but it looks like San-er actually managed to contracted the grimoire at 9 years old, in other words he had at least a year to trained his guardian beast", elder Yue Hai answered wrily.

"Oh, but why do you announced it that Yue Yang only managed to contracted grimoire recently brother Hai?"

"Well, according to Ah-Xian, they were keeping it a secret because of San-er's request. He said that he want to train by himself for at least a year before he announced his success at contracting grimoire to the clan. It was possible that in this one year he trained his guardian beast to kill demonic beasts, thus gaining such killing intent", said elder Yue Hai.

"I see, with one year anything was possible, although the notion that such killing intent was foster merely in a year was too terrifying to accept", said Emperor Jun Wu You in wonder.

Who knows what kind of expression that will appear on their face if both of them were to know that the killing intent that [Esdeath] leaked previously wasn't her whole killing intent. After all, her rank limited not only her skill and abilities, even her killing intent was also affected.

After that, Yue Yang, Princess Qian Qian, and Xue Tan Lang attended the award ceremony to receive their respective reward.

Although Princess Qian Qian and Xue Tan Lang didn't had any interest at the event, they still attended it in order to give face toward Yue clan.

"Don't forget our bet Qian Qian. I will come personally at your royal family to pick you up for our date, so I hope you will looking forward to it", Yue Yang teased Princess Qian Qian.

"You!! Don't call me Qian Qian!!", shout Princess Qian Qian in anger and she was about to pounced at him

"Oh, to think that the most respected princess from Da Xia royal family will renege on her promise. *sigh*, as a plebeian, looks like I didn't have choice but resign to my fate", said Yue Yang with lament.

Thus, it was the end of Yue clan's new year tournament.

Of course Yue Yang didn't forgot to collected her earning from the bet.

This whole tournament exposed his weakness, that was the lack of battle technique and skills. Aside from [Basic Blade Technique], he only had [Shunpo] and [Shadow Clones]. [Basic Body Refining Technique] only served to made his body more durable and possessed more stamina.

Thus he urgently need to spin some gacha to gain any skills and abilities, or maybe possibly a new summoning beast.
