Chapter 91 - Gabriella (1)

I'm sitting on my nerves, my knee doesn't stop bouncing. The quarry is huge and it looks very much like a dumping ground if not for the heavy equipment, trucks, gravel, and stones. There's even a lake nearby from what I guess was a deep dug from before. It's looking creepy the more the sky turns dark.

I've been biting my thumb as I watch Mariano point his gun at his friend's head. It's not the first time I would see a kill. Growing up in my family, it's inevitable. I don't like it as much as the next person; I don't think Mariano does either. But sometimes, there's a necessity to it, especially when protecting the family or yourself.

As much as I hated Duke for what he did, this is all too complicated. I can see that Mariano doesn't want to kill his friend, not really. He has a duty to fulfill in front of his men, and he believes in the need to prove himself to me and my family, regardless of who the person is.
