Mariano even backed me up—sort of. A couple of weeks ago, while I was preparing for the guest list for tonight's opening, he caught me staring into space with a devilish smirk on my face and he said, "What's with that look? What are you thinking? Are you scheming something?"

I feigned innocence, which obviously didn't work. And then I said, "Why? Are you going to stop me?"
