1 In the Difference World

She was awake with a jolt of pain ran through her back. She remembered the accident, she was checking for any injury in her body and the only notable pain was located on her back.

Her memory was a little muddle, placing her palm on her forehead to massage it, she was scanning around the area. The forest at midnight, a big full moon, and....houses on the sky?

Unable to believe what she just saw, she rubbed on her eyes.

It was big houses on the faraway sky, with flying cars, and all kinds of flying vehicles. She pinched her hand hard, and loudly she cried, " Ouch!"

No..., it must be a dream. She was looking around and found a great place to sleep back to reality. She heard that in order to wake up from a dream, you need to sleep inside a dream, she never wants to wake up from a dream, so basically today she would finally try the countermeasure.

Walking toward the grass bedding she said, " Night, night!"

But she just pretended to sleep, wincing one eye to look around with another eye, nothing seemed to change, everything looked the same, so she decided to investigate the situation clearly.

Someone must have kidnapped her after the incident and smuggled her into another world. Nothing was making any sense but she had to accept the reality that for an unknown reason she was in another world.

It was a jungle around her, no one was on sight, the cicadas loud music had finally calmed her confusion and her mind started to replay to the time of her accident.

- Earth, December 25, 2020 -

It was Christmas night and she was sitting down on the park bench in front of the immortal lake by herself. The legend of the immortal lake was definitely a story worth for an Oscar award. Hearsay, when you throw a coin on a snowy day and pray for your wish, your wish will become true.

But for as long as the Pei city existed, the snow didn't. So basically it was just a 'too good to be true' legend.

Before she could smirk into a smile of her thought, the snow came.

Maybe it was fake.

The little white ball touched her face and it was cold and watery.

Great product.

But then she was up and running toward the glistening lake and screamed out from her lungs," It's snowing!"

In a speed of light, she threw a coin and prayed," I want to meet my true love, my only one, my soul mate, may the God bless me with my wish!"

She was inhaling deeply of the beautiful snowing scenery with the bright full moon, it was amazing, it was the first time ever in Plain city to have the wonder of the world, just like its name, Plain city, it was plain and boring, but how come a snow exist in this tropical island? The crowd had finally gathered like ants to throw a coin inside the lake. She was not the only person that knew of the legend. She was suddenly within the human traffic, a towering man was suddenly right behind her.

"Feng Ying Ni?", he asked with a flat tone almost like a robot voice.

She was glancing at the common look man but no familiarity on his face, he was a stranger but he didn't look like a bad guy so she answered," Yes.., that's me!"

Before she was able to react, the man pushed her hard into a lake and she was drowning and drowning into a void space.

When she awoke, she was in a strange place.

Does her wish come true?

A star was suddenly flash brightly and it was falling rapidly like a comet in front of her, but it was not a star.

It was a flying motorcycle and the person riding it was parking it slowly and after pulling out the black helmet from his head, he came to her while still holding the helmet on his arm. He looked like he was out from a science fiction movie starred by Arnold Schwarzenegger, "The Terminator".

She gaped until her saliva leak out, she wiped her mouth while smiling adoringly at the Adonis man with a perfect physique, not as big as 'Arnold ' but his tight black rubber costume left nothing to imagination of the perfect tone six-pack body, admiringly, she blurted," Handsome man..., are you here to be my hero?"

She was winking at him, fluttering her eyelashes like butterflies wings, licking her plump lips like a cat, combing her long wavy brown hair like a fairy, but nothing works.

The beautiful man was unmoved and coldly stared at her with a stony expression. Her beauty had been always her weapon to get what she wanted, but unfortunately, she was doomed in the strange world with a wood guy who was scanning her body with the weird modern device which resembled a taser in silence.

The modern taser suddenly chirped in a robot sound," Record not exist..., let alert! Intruder! Intruder!"

The word intruder was repeated in another ten times before the terminator guy switched it off to reboot the system.

"Who are you? Where are you from? And why are you here in the deserted area?"

Before she could answer, he was placing a headphone that he took out from the bag pack strapped behind him.

He turned on the headphone with remote control and it shone like a halo on her head.

He repeated the same three questions one by one and in a trance, she answered the question one by one.

1." Feng Ying Ni."

2." Plain City."

3." I have no idea!"

He asked again," What race are you?"

Race? Are you kidding me?

For some reason, her consciousness had returned and when she didn't answer the last question the icy man eyeing her disbelievingly but shook his head and eyeing at the remote control suspiciously instead.

He grabbed the headphones from her head and throw it away together in the faraway bushes and muttered, " Piece of junk!"

She smiled at the show of anger and chuckled while saying, " Great, you are not a robot!"

His eyes raised with alarm and right away he covered her mouth and whispered, " Let's go somewhere to talk since both of us are human you need to follow me if you want to stay alive, the robot race is not a joking matter!"

She nodded but she was clueless of was transpired in their conversation. She took a backup black helmet from him, straddling on a leather cushion behind him, hugging him tightly when the motorcycle took off, and screamed, " Wohoooo!!!" when with a whoosh they left the deserted area.
