1 Life on current age

On Revolt-1, 361 A.E.(After Earth), war breaks out after about 200 years long of peaceful life humans experience since they fully established their new habitat on another Earth-like planet which currently named Revolt-1. Actually, Revolt-1 is just one of many other human new habitations after several centuries of space exploration.

As for the human governing system, it's completely different than what it used to be. Military Officers hold more power than the political bodies on government at the moment. This caused by the huge need for military power to expand and defense human territory in space. That's the reason why the military academy has more popularity in the modern age of space era which called as After Earth calendar.

Seth is currently 20 and in his senior year as a military major at one of the most normal universities you can ever imagine. He's neither smart nor rich. Usually, the smart and rich people got to attend the big university in the city center such as Neverland Academy, Republic Combat Institute, and so on. Unfortunately, his family can only afford to put him at Riverside University which has almost no competitive appeal unlike other middle-graded universities on Revolt-1. It almost excels in no strong point or whatsoever, even being called mediocre is good enough for its reputation.

Today he just finished his daily class and about to head out of his class to go to the nearest metro, the most popular way of traveling for normal people, to go back home. It's really different than those riches who ride on their own flying electric cars all around the city. Fortunately, it solves traffic problems that occur in older days when humans live on Earth. Car's engine uses water as it's the fuel which makes less pollution as well as solving the old times' problem of global warming.

On his way back home, he takes a look at a giant billboard that also functions for broadcasting breaking news on TV. There's news about the invasion that goes on several hours before on the west of the planet which is quite far from his school which located in the northeast, and his sister's school which is in the southeast part of Vancourt town. Sadly enough his town is just a rural town on a 3rd rate planet that has some small mineral industries on several areas on their planet.

That's why he and another civilian on this planet never thought that their planet may have enough worth to get invaded for its resources. They only produce mass-produced metals which can be found on every planet all over human colonies such as iron, copper, silver, etc. Those mineral values aren't even enough to meet the war budget spend for invading his living planet let alone making some profit.

"It doesn't look good, isn't it? I hope the defense force will have enough power to repel that." Seth unconsciously murmurs. Then he continues to walk his way to the train station as he planned to get home early because he worries about the war that breaks out in the west part of the planet may impact his life and his family.

Suddenly a warning signal goes on through all public facilities all across the planet.

"Attention, all civilians, please evacuate to the nearest emergency shelter immediately. Open your communication for further navigation."

"What's exactly goin' on here," Seth thought.

He opens his comm on his wrist to get better navigation. He starts running following comm's navigation. He keeps thinking about his mom and his sister that has to go to separate evacuation site since his school and his sister school is on the opposite way of the city.

"Hope they're okay on their way evacuating," Seth mumbles.

He hears a loud plane engine from afar. He takes time and sees it drops something.

*KABOOM!!!*

He can do nothing but looking at the blast that comes after him. It's too late to run for him since he won't escape from the blast radius no matter how hard he tried. As he expected, he caught in the blast that occurs after the bomb detonated and he faints.

Several hours have passed since he fainted. He slowly opens his eyes and his vision gets blurry.

"Ugh, it's heavy... How can I get out of these rubbles?" Seth tries to get some idea.

*Bang. Bang! BANG!!* Gun fires heard from afar.

"Damn shall I yell for their help? Are they on my side or that invader?" Seth hesitates.

He keeps undecided about what will happens if he yells for assistance. He keeps thinking about which one will kill him first, his blood lost condition or those who kept shooting for some while now. It gets his mood darkened every single thought he tries to think positively about his current situation.

After several minutes of hesitating, he hears someone talk not too far away, perhaps several meters away from him.

*Bzz.* "We'll evacuate from our post. Over," someone said through his comm. *Bzz.*

Seth tries his best to stop his hesitation before he lost too much blood to recover and gamble on his luck. It won't be different since he'll die anyway if something goes awry at the moment. It's better than doing nothing and dying without doing anything.

"Help..," he yells. It sounds like some whisper since he loses his fitness got crushed by rubbles all over the places. He then tries to shout louder. "Help!" *Cough cough.. cough…* His throat can barely make so much noise that may sound like his normal voice level when he talks normally.

He looks upon the building across the street and he realizes there's a targeting laser pointed at his head while hearing footsteps going closer.

"Let's get him evacuated with us while we can," unknown guys said.

"Roger that," another guy replied.

Not that long after he hears those talks. He relaxes a bit and takes rest since he already feels superbly exhausted. He definitely won't choose to be put in the same situation again if he may choose. Those people talking on the radio walks near him while he can barely endure staying awake longer with his critical condition. "What madness today really is," random thought that passes through Seth's mind before he closes his eyes.
