1 My name

I'm Laney, and I'm a werewolf, an Omega. My name is Laney. I was never an Omega; Jackie and Kent, my parents, are pack leaders. Strong and excellent trackers, they are My mother is Luna Angie's and the Beta Female Sari's best friend, and my father is Alpha Michael's top tracker and warrior. Since they were in elementary school, my father has been best friends with Alpha Michael and Beta Carl. The Orion Mist Pack consists of us. We are little with around 300 pack individuals. We rank among the US's strongest packs. North of Billings is where you'll find the Orion Mist Pack.

You would think that I would acquire my wolf at 16 or even 17 like my family and pack members. Yet here I am, 18 years old, without a wolf.

I have humiliated my folks by being their lone kid, with no wolf. They have been informed by the Doctor that my wolf is only dormant. Yet, that has not altered Alpha Michael's perspective on me. He even persuaded my parents that I wasn't strong enough to be their daughter and that I didn't deserve it. I was kicked out of my house, and the Alpha made me leave my house and become a slave instead of an Omega. My home is in the attic, and the window is broken. I don't have heat or air conditioning. I use a bath towel as a pillow and sleep in an old sleeping bag. A few items of clothing and a pair of shoes were given to me by Luna Angie in my small closet. My little room is there. Boxes and old furniture are everywhere else. Luna Angie dislikes tossing things out. When my parents kicked me out and forced me into the Pack house, they took everything I owned while I was with them. I managed to sneak in one item, a picture of us from our trip to Disney World when I was 14 years old. We were content at the time, and the day was the best because there were no dramas or concerns. We snapped a picture with Woody and Buzz Lightyear next to us.

The picture is kept by me by my bed. I like to ensure that I can recall the best moments. I like to think back to what we used to have, even if they are no longer great. I will always love them, and they will always be my parents. I can't generally be distraught at them, regardless of anything. I want to ensure that I still have my parents when I find my mate and he accepts me for being wolfless or having a dormant wolf, as the doctor claims.

I do feel fortunate on some days, but not always. The worst position in any pack is slave. I cannot eat with the rest of the pack, including the Omegas in the kitchen, because Alpha Michael can't stand to look at me. Only bread, lunch meat, and water are permitted for me to consume in the attic. I do sneak some delicious bites. All things considered, I'm the one in particular that does the cooking for everybody in the packhouse with the assistance of one Omega. She is timid.

I had to use up all of my time to cook and clean, so I had to finish high school with only a few credits. I would have left the Alpha had it not been for those courses that earned college credit. A month later, my best friend Casey left. I wouldn't let her stay with me because she wanted to. I could't do that to her, particularly since my companions were directed to never converse with me or remain companions with me. For not possessing a wolf, the Alpha imposed yet another punishment.

I had to make sure that every room in the house was clean because I was an Omega slave, even if no one stayed in the room. I did the difficult positions like scouring the hard floors on all fours with a clean brush, not a mop. Every one of the windows in the packhouse must be cleaned one time each week. The building had more than 80 windows. My favorite activity was cooking. Alpha and Luna always came first in my attention, so I always made sure to take care of them. They stay up there for breakfast and sometimes lunch and have their own quarters. The main dining room is always downstairs for dinner. I keep out of Alpha Michael's way at all times. He saw me in the Alpha's quarters making their breakfast one morning and woke up two hours early. As I was finishing, he came up, threw what I had made at a wall, shoved me into the hot stove, and told me I needed to leave now before he killed me. I was fortunate to turn off the hot stove, which minimized my elbow burn.

Since then, I've been cautious, making sure to hide until he leaves if I even heard a sound. Damien only comes into view at dinnertime, when he grabs food and heads to his cottage in the back.

I must realize that this is my life and who I am now. I no longer have a family because I am an Omega.

They don't hit me or anything, and the pack stays out of my way. They seem to be sorry for me. I realize that they are compelled to disregard me and I'm happy that they do now. I can work quietly and clean everything. The kitchen is my favorite area. I enjoy cooking and baking. It seems to be loved by everyone, and I haven't heard any complaints. Getting up early helps prepare things for the day. Because Alpha Michael makes my list of chores, I sometimes can't make it to the kitchen because I can't clean all the windows or vacuum the whole house, including all the rooms. Despite this, he insists that I stop what I'm doing each morning and afternoon to prepare breakfast and lunch for Luna Angie and him. Therefore, I prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner an hour earlier than the other Omegas and leave a note instructing them on how to cook.
